    Fried lobster tail
    Adam J.

I've only been to Hunter's once. The one time I visited Columbus, GA for a work trip last July. Everybody was raving about Hunter's so, not one to pass up a potentially great steak, I tagged along. Let me say, I visited Japan this February, and went to a high-end Teppanyaki steakhouse where we had top-of-the-line Kobe beef - supposedly the best beef on Earth. It was incredible. I thought to myself: "Is this the best steak I've ever had?" It took me a minute, but the answer eventually became clear: "no, the best steak I've ever had was at Hunter's Pub and Steakhouse." This 12 oz filet, for only $41 is literally the best steak I can ever remember having. Perfectly seasoned and grilled and tender. I've never had better. The lobster tail was pretty damn good too. Nothing else needs to be said. Go here.

We're back! After a 10 month hiatus we were back camping in the area. I mean, what's a 30 minute drive from West Point for such delicious food??? Since we were a small group of 3 the wait time to be seated was very short. This time we all ordered the Rib-eye - 2 medium and one medium rare... Perfection! The other two had a salad and fries to go with their steaks - I went with sautéed mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. Perfect! Our server, Sarah with an "H", was professional, attentive to our needs and checked on us frequently. Her exuberance and bubbly personality were delightful! She even sang along with me to a song playing in the background - !!! Best of wishes when you begin Law School! I plan on returning in October during my next camping excursion to the area!

Best Steaks. Truly a fabulous hole where the locals line up at the doors for the 5 pm opening. Looks like a shack, but don't let that fool you. Park and go on in, a friendly staff and an amazing casual dinner awaits. Yes, this a steakhouse, but there are some seafood and chicken dishes, plus kid's meals too. Portions are generous with ample parking and folks sitting outside for a table. Bartender yells out a welcome and how many? We lucked out with the last 2 top! Delicious from the petite 8oz filet to the sweet potato fries and the fried green beans! All of it was savory and too much for one person. The seasoning has layers of flavor and the quality of the meat is so tender. Presley, our server, was friendly, efficient and informative. In fact, observing the young staff, they are constantly working with a friendly disposition. Not one had a cellphone out, or were huddled together chit chatting. This is a great team, cleaning tables, greeting guests, and feeding us all. Full bar with a good selection of wines and beers. We didn't have room for dessert but had there been some of Mama Kay's homemade cheesecake, we would have taken a slice for later. Next trip through this area, we will get some.

I've been wanting to go here for years because I heard they have the best steaks around. I was in the area so I stopped by. It's really small and the parking lot isn't sufficient, with numerous cars needing to park along the side of the road. The inside vibe is pretty cool but the music is extremely loud so don't expect to hold a conversation with someone. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Ribeye, baked potato, side of mushrooms and onions and a fried lobster tail. I do not recommend getting the lobster tail. It was my first time ever having a fried lobster tail so I didn't know what to expect. It basically reminded me of a Gordon's Fisherman fish fillet. The baked potato was ok, kind of dry and hard but lots of butter and sour cream helped. The ribeye came out rare and I ordered medium rare. To be fair, it was so loud she might have misunderstood me and I like rare too so I kept it. The amount of fat on the other hand was ridiculous. I just kept having to cut off big chunks of it. I might go back again the next time I'm in the area but I won't be getting a steak.

About a quarter pound of hamburger per plate with stew tomatoes for the sauce mixed in. Best spaghetti you'll find in a hundred miles

Best restaurant in Columbus and Atlanta only it's in between there Harris county. All the spaghetti you can eat for $11.99 on Tuesdays only. Most of the meals are not cheap however they're worth every penny you pay for it. The cook is awesome and no matter what you order you'll be extremely satisfied. They have lobster and steak and chicken and spaghetti and I've never eaten a bad meal there in 10 years. I go there every week and have been for a long time.

It's ok. Food is fine if you're a steak lover, but not compared to other places. Service is rushed and underwhelming. Pause and let me ask for what I want. Ambiance: Too loud to talk, too cramped for comfort. Definitely feels like locals like it, just not this one.

It's a little crowded, but the steaks are amazing and well worth it. That's why you better get there early.

Cleanliness is not a priority at this place. It's filthy and owners charge outrageous prices to dine in a dump

Are they practicing social distancing for tables?

Last time I went a few weeks ago, the inside was unchanged and tables close together with no distancing. There were three tables set up outside that were distanced. Don't know what they are doing for colder weather if it's going to stay like that.… Read more

The restaurant is very cute and truly has an "at home" feel. I was really looking forward to having the short rib. Unfortunately when we were seated our waitress told us they didn't have it that day. While ordering drinks my husband was ordering beer and he was told they didn't sell what he was asking for. Even though it was listed on the menu. He ended up ordering whatever the waitress suggested and we ordered the shrimp cocktail while we looked over the menu. The shrimp cocktail was very good. For dinner I ordered the filet with lobster and my husband the Pork shank. My filet came out overcooked but was promptly fixed. The lobster was amazing ! My husband wasn't a big fan of the pork. We did order a cheesecake for dessert that was also really good. Overall our experience was pleasant but food wise not what I'd expected from the other reviews. However the service was great. The owner is so nice and spent time socializing at each table. He even came to make sure my second set of fillets were good to go. Our waitress is also very nice. I can see us trying this place out again. Hopefully on a night they have short rib.

Let me just say -- I am SO glad we listened. It's about 7 miles down the road in Hamilton, a place we'd never been to and didn't know much about. We ordered beers, I had a premium skinny margarita with a Tajín rim (chef's kiss ), and we shared the combination fajitas. And the food... WOW. The food is freaking amazing. No really -- the food is freaking amazing. Let me say it one more time -- the food is freaking amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was awesome -- friendly, attentive, and genuine without being over-the-top. We had to wait for about five minutes until anyone showed up to seat us, but not a problem. We were the only ustomers there. We were seated in a booth that had a support post partially blocking access to one side, but were allowed to move after asking when the waitress returned. The music was not loud, which was nice. The place had plenty of things for customers to do, including a room with corn hole. We ordered the 32 ounce sirloin for two, medium rare. Our salads arrived first and were fresh. The dressings were good and enough to cover the salads. The iced tea was very good. The steak was cooked just right. However, the steak, baked potatoes and rolls were luke warm at best. We ordered loaded baked potatoes as our one each allowed sides. They were supposed to come with bacon, cheese, scallions, sour cream and butter. We did not receive sour cream or scallions. When asked about the sour cream, we were told they checked and were completely out of sour cream. At 4:30 on Friday, out of sour cream? We forgot to ask about the scallions. Why didn't the waitress know beforehand about the missing items, or why didn't she apologize when the food was brought to us? We paid an additional $2.99 for each loaded baked potato, but received no discount for the missing items. The potatoes were cooked well, and the skins were not burnt and were edible. Just luke warm. We only received one roll each, which was basically a warmed up Sister Shubert's dinner roll. Had the food been hotter, all of the potato toppings been available, and a small basket of better rolls been given, the sticker shock may have set a little better. For the meal we had, the pre-tip cost was about $75. We left a $20 tip, since the waitress was nice and accommodating. She didn't prepare the food. We will not be returning to Cowboy Town.
