We stepped in for a quick lunch and sadly the kitchen was closed. The coffee shop was relaxing and had comfortable seating. There was a wide variety on the menu to drink and the pastries looked yummy. We didn't stay as we needed more food than treats. The staff was friendly and gave us suggestions on where to go. Only four stars as the kitchen was closed an hour early.

We came in on a weekday for some breakfast and coffee. The ambiance is a cute, modern coffee shop with good service. You just order at the counter, and we were quite impressed with both the food and coffee. The barista recommended the banana nut latte and the seasonal strawberry latte. Both were delicious, not too sweet, great flavor. - Egg and brisket (4.5/5): This brisket was tender, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked and crispy.

Highly recommend! Had a quiche, French toast pastry, and tried their French toast latte. The pastries were really outstanding and everything tasted so good and fresh. Very sleek, comforting ambiance. Staff was all super friendly and helpful, I will be coming back here plenty! Also right downtown which is really nice if you want to walk around afterward! Only thing to note is the portion sizes are small so don't expect to get a full meal in if you're a growing boy and putting down calories left and right to bulk up for your winter arc.

Loved this cute but trendy cafe. Very chic and with French pastries that are splendid. I bought a few to do. The brewed coffee was excellent, and I would say that the food was good, but thar is from what we saw. The plates looked very appetizing. I enjoyed the baklava croissant ring. It was a bit messy but good. The place is well staffed and good service.

Cute cafe. Very busy Saturday morning. Drinks and food were served quickly. The croissant.was light, flaky and delicious.

Cute little cafe with a small menu for breakfast or brunch. Order at the counter so you can have a meal there or grab something to go. I tried the pear cornbread and it was served warm and was so good! They also have a specialty latte menu including shaken espresso and cold brew. Things to consider: street parking and lack of vegan options, however they do have alternative milks for .50 for coffees

Disappointing experience at Sage this weekend. First the positive: this little coffee shop has an adorable interior with cute fixtures and fresh flowers, so I had high hopes. We came in for a quick coffee and snack, but ended up just going with drinks because they were sold out of food. The baristas were short and it seemed like a pretentious and uninviting atmosphere. I ordered a cold brew with a splash of oat, but they delivered a mostly oat milk with a splash of cold brew. My friend got a chai latte, taste was just ok but the temperature was perfect.

I went to sage for the first time and was really impressed. I was stopping somewhere before going back to St. Louis just for a little coffee and breakfast. This was absolutely perfect and exactly what I needed. You can stop in quick like me or sit down and order something bigger if that's what you want. I got an iced pumpkin spiced latte which was phenomenal, really one of the better ones i've had. I also got this custard strawberry danish which was great. There was more custard on it than it looks like, enough for every bite. I had a great trip here and the service was good. I can't wait to stop by next time i'm in town, it's probably my new favorite spot.

Very cute yet sophisticated coffee shop. I had been wanting to find a new coffee shop in Columbia and had walked past this one and thought to try. Right by the Blue Note downtown. Wonderful service and a peaceful atmosphere! Their menu is elevated yet you still can get anything you typically order at a coffee shop.

Cute new cafe in Columbia! It's a great study spot with many seating options. Great menu for coffee, tea, food, and sweets. Will be returning! Only issue is that it's extremely cold inside

I haven't found a good fried chicken place in over 25 years, and when I bit into the chicken and tasted their garlic mashed potatoes I realized that I had found the next best thing to what one believes grandma's home cook meal would taste like. The side biscuit was a treat to have and went well with honey or their wonderful jam. In fact, my husband and I are certain that their biscuits and gravy for breakfast must be wonderful based on their side biscuit. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well. I also noticed how quickly food was served for anyone waiting for their meals after they were ordered. I anticipate that we will be back to enjoy their other food options.

That said, the bacon definitely made up for it--thick-cut, perfectly crispy, and super satisfying. The real star, though, was the biscuit. It had an amazing texture--fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of structure--and the homemade blackberry jam was absolutely delicious. It added the perfect touch of sweetness and really elevated the whole meal. Overall, a good spot with some great elements. I'd definitely come back.

Ernie's was not on the list, but once in town both the bride and groom verbally recommended it for breakfast. The wedding was Saturday, so before I left town on Sunday, I filled my tummy with a classic breakfast. It's a popular diner, so there was a line out the door. I will say, the manager/hostess kept it moving. A Karen, cut past several of waiting a went inside and went to take an open stool. She was quickly sent back outside and to the end of the line. The hostess, then came out and told another single diner and myself to come and take which stool we wanted at the counter. Ernie offers 12 different combos for breakfast, I picked one that I thought I wanted. When I ordered and said to hold the buttered toast and give me an half order of Biscuits and Gravy. My waitress was so sweet, she said, nope. She said she was going to save me money by ordering me the #11 and replacing the French Toast with the B&G. That's excellent customer service. My Combo #11 was delicious. Had my eggs scrambled and they were super fluffy and simply seasoned. The three slices of bacon were crispy and the Hash Browns had crispy edges. However, the true star of my breakfast was the Biscuit and Gravy. The biscuit wasn't as fluffy as I'd like, but the gravy was top notch. I love pepper and it was extremely peppery which made me happy. If anyone is going to Columbia, I'd tell them to stop by Ernie's for breakfast. When I come back to COMO, I'm going to stop by for lunch and enjoy a burger. Dick Tracy, thinks about them all the time.

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.
