It was a sad day when this no longer became my morning coffee local. But I still have a lot of love for what the guys and girls at Ozone are doing. Their coffee is probably in my top three of roasters in the country - high praise indeed. Even better is that it's made within the industrial, New York looking building they call their home just around the corner from Old Street tube. This place can get busy, so if you're looking to eat here - which you should - try an early morning weekend trip or just after lunch on a week day. Honestly the breakfast selection is simple but inventive to keep it interesting & their selection of sandwiches and other lunch time picks are top notch without the pretension of some other coffee shops. read more

This place is sooooo good in all ways. Awesome food, service with a smile, and hip ambience. So far I've just had the salmon, poached egg avocado salad which was BOMB. I also hear the Eggs Benedict style and the omelettes are amazing. Also recommend the milkshakes and variety of fuit/veggie juices! Oh yeah, and their coffee is also fab. We had a nice brunch here, and it's a great place to be able to sit and watch. Watch the coffee being brewed and your food being cooked, and then you get to eat it. I was slightly disappointed that the fryer was broken, so I ended up with the eggs benedict on pretty standard by nicely crisped rye bread. It was tasty to the point I didn't mind at all. read more

Went during breakfast so it was understandably busy...however ended up spending about 2 hours there, mostly just from waiting. We were seated immediately but our order wasn't taken for about 20 minutes. An hour later our food hadn't arrived; we let a waitress know and apparently the order just hadn't been put through in the first place. Latte was fine, but not anything spectacular, and the banana bread was fairly good but not good enough to justify an hour wait. Wouldn't recommend based off of that experience. read more

Had a late brunch after church. Cappuccino was excellent; food was well-prepared and delicious. Place was a bit crowded and thus we had a slight wait and getting server's attention wasn't as easy as otherwise might be, but all in all it was a nice experience with tasty food and great coffee. 5 Stars in terms of food. Lovely presentation and amazing flavours. The only problem I had with this place was the extremely rude waitress who made us feel unwelcomed. We were queuing for a table and two of us decided to buy coffee elsewhere while waiting. It turns out we got a table quite fast so we got in and were told by waitress #1 we couldn't have coffee from a different establishment, which was very understandable. So we told her we were just going to tell our friends what to order and we would step outside to finish drinking it. One minute later waitress/manager (I think, or someone on a power rush) comes to our table and says in an uncalled-for very rude way that what we were doing was absolutely not allowed. So I repeated that we were just ordering but she was extremely sour and rude throughout. Honestly if it weren't for the lovely waiter we had after, I'd considering not going back. It's a pity that wonderful food gets ruined by people who should not work in the sector. read more

Food is very nice, coffee is OK I had a flat white, not as nice as some other places, a bit over roasted or scalded, but still nice. I need to try a Latte next time to comp-are as they generally suit my taste better. The place itself looks great, lots of seating which mostly overlooks the kitchen so you can see the chefs hard at work, and a bit of exciting with the odd flambé A great atmosphere, and quite a busy place. Is it me unlucky or I felt today that got a little too much attention. Upon arrival advised that I will be waiting my partner for 40-50 minutes. Ordered Carafe of red (very nice red) and cheese (wasn't impressed with cheese btw) 3 different waitresses approached me 4-5 times if I will be ordering something else. Felt like they expected me to order more or something, hence left as got a bit annoyed (that's a first time - got annoyed due to much attention :)) hence went to Jane Roe Kitchen, just few block down the old street and comfortably spent the rest of the evening. Great coffee and breakfast/brunch joint located just around the corner from Old Street tube. Ozone specializes in top-quality coffee with in-house roasting and a variety of select beans available for consumption on premises or to take home for your own brewing pleasure. The cafe-roastery-restaurant is housed in a large converted industrial space, with some nice bench and window (i.e. People watching) spaces upstarts, and a larger, albeit a little more cellar-like space downstairs. Coffees are prepared in the classic Italian way as well as filtered and new-fangled methods such as "aeropress". The food here is fantastic as well, again this place is all about quality ingredients and attention to detail (a favorite of mine is the Buford brown poached eggs on sourdough with a side of avocado and cardamom). Perhaps a little bit pretentious, but it's London. It ain't cheap but as is often the case in this town, you get what you pay for! read more

On food and drink alone, I would have rated Ozone higher - the coffee and omelette with eggplant, cauliflower and capers was stunning. However, the service here is so subpar that I'm not sure I would return. Though there was a line out the door, I was seated quickly at the bar as a party of 1. Immediately (and I mean immediately), a server was at my side requesting my order - I literally hadn't gotten to reading the second item on the menu. Seemingly as punishment, the staff was wholly inattentive the remainder of my meal. I certainly understand they were very busy that morning, but they didn't seem particularly short staffed, simply mediocre. Once my meal was finally delivered, I was not checked on again until 15 minutes after I had finished my meal and pushed my plate to the side for removal. In all, my breakfast for one took about an hour and 20 minutes from start to finish. Would seem the line wouldn't be so long if you could turn your seats over faster than that. If you have loads of time to waste, by all means try it out. The omelette was one of the best I've had. I would recommend skipping the bacon, though - it was very fatty and tasted only like the oil it was drenched in. read more

Met friends for brunch on the second weekend of opening and the place already has a great buzz. Its a vast expanse of a place, but has been designed sensitively, so that even on a quiet weekday afternoon, you'd find it feeling free of the floating tumbleweed. This is industrial chic done with verve and imagination as opposed to minimalism for the sake of lack of ideas or cheapness, a common trait in London cafes. I asked for the baked eggs and halloumi, which sounded fantastic, but it wasn't to be, no halloumi and I am but a husk of a man without halloumi. Sadface. Instead I ate delicious vege eggs benedict with big juicy portabello mushrooms, perfect eggs and bubble-n-squeak instead of bread. Touch! The non-vege options looked good too, but meat is dead to me. We tried several coffees. The flat white was great, punchy and creamy, the espresso was good, but the 'soft brew' filters weren't to my taste at all. An Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and an El Salvadoran, both roasted dark with big roasty flavours that overwhelmed most of the nuances of what were probably excellent green beans. Have been to Ozone on 3 occasions, I didn't have a coffee but had a peppermint hot chocolate, that was extremely good. The eggs here are really fresh and always cooked to perfection. On one occasions they didn't have milkshakes (weird?) and no bubble and squeak cakes (which are amazing), so that was disappointing. But for brunch, this place is really good. read more

I will preface this by saying that I like strong Coffee. Italian espresso, dark roasted beans that are oily and not charred. This place is the opposite. Extremely weak coffee. In fact I could see the bottom of my cup. When I asked for milk to try and give it a stronger taste, they said "no". That's right they said we don't serve milk with our coffee. My coffee here cost £4 and I can think of many better ways to spend it. read more

Pretentious menu and crap customer service. Told to wait for a seat and then promptly forgotten about - 2 dudes cut our queue when we were looking at the coffee roaster. Also found out there were plenty of seats downstairs but we had to wait 5 mins before someone seated us anyway. Had kamiro coffee which arrived with its own little card with different tasting notes from the menu - not my favourite coffee either way - Taylor st barista down the street does much better.
