Things are quite different now. Anyhow, I was referred to Nita by a work friend for jaw clenching related headaches. I was super nervous and reluctant bc I'm scared of needles. So a whole group of us went together bc we were all scared. This was pre-pandemic of course. Anyhow Nita was so patient with our nervous yammering, our jumpiness. She even had relaxation tools for the really tense ones. And after that we were all so happy with the results that now we are all repeat clients and are big girls that can go on our own. In addition to the jaw injections I decided in for a penny in for a pound and got my forehead done too. A dermatologist in Korea had recommended I get my forehead done several years ago to prevent my wrinkles from setting in. I wish I had done it back then. Nita does a terrific job, uses the tiniest of needles, is gentle, lovely and has a less-is-more philosophy to her approach. Jaw muscle injections have helped soooo much with my clenching and teeth grinding. I am hoping to stave off getting a crown for my cracked molar. If they can charge us for last minute cancellations then we should be able to charge them for last minute cancellations too! The way they act is as if their time is more important than ours! To top all of this, I get a call from her MA after my call with Giselle to ask if I could come in earlier. WTH do these people even communicate? Of course, when you question, MA's response is "Oh, I need to go because I have a patient waiting." It is also horrible trying to speak to a live person. All you get is a message to leave a message. Note: the only reason why I'm here is that my regular doctor is now a part of Hawai'i Dermatology and Plastic Surgery group. If I could give a sole rating for Dr. Linda Fancher, it would be 5 stars! She is an excellent doctor and we absolutely adore her and her professionalism. We followed her here from her private practice. Yesterday I went in for my scheduled hydrofacial and it was absolutely amazing as usual. First things first, she dermaplanes my whole face to get rid of any gunk, then goes in with products like vitamin C misting, hydro jelly, etc. Besides this, there is a head & neck massage, & red light therapy. I remember she told me she went to Korea recently & learned how to do facial contour massaging - I noticed that some of those techniques were incorporated into my facial this time. It's a busy building in the morning, so give yourself some time to make it to the elevators and head up to the 14th floor where you walk into a serene world immediately. The sight, smell, and sound of the spa immediately draws you in. After settling in, I had the most amazing Salt Facial at Honolulu Spa & Wellness with the owner. I do not get facials regularly because I tend to leave the salon with sensitive skin that's all blotchy and red from the chemicals that were used. But getting a Salt Facial is so much different! No chemicals were used and the results were amazing. The salt used is a natural antibacterial and antimicrobial agent so my skin was not irritated one bit in the process. I learned this is one of the few places offering this service, so definitely take advantage of them having this service. The procedure started by cleansing my face and neck first. Then the Salt Facial followed with her using a wand that used all natural sea salt resurfacing to prep my skin for the next stages. I thought it was going to hurt for some reason , but it didn't at all and just felt like a deep exfoliation. I then had an aesthetic ultrasound to nourish and increase circulation of my skin, which helped whatever she used to get deeper into my skin. The next step was where I could really feel the treatment doing its job, and that was the LED light therapy! I did that for a couple of minutes and could feel my skin getting its natural glow back. The last part of my experience here was a hydrating face mask that I didn't even know I needed. The whole process felt so fast but gave such great results. My skin feels brighter and tighter, especially around my under-eye and cheeks where I felt like my skin was sagging a bit. I could just feel my skin was softer and had reduced the bumpiness in some areas that were affected by acne in the past. All in all a great experience and a facial I recommend to anyone that wants a natural approach to getting one. I am sensitive to chemicals and often left waiting for results after a couple of days, but with the Salt Facial results were immediate. Try it for yourself and thank me later that you did!
