What can I say, Doctor Dodd saved my life! His bedside manner is by far the best I have encountered in my fifty-five years. Had I known he was out there, I would've been to the gynecologist must sooner. He knows what he's doing. He is very efficient and the most amazing gynecologist. I have encountered. This is my second appointment with Dr. Dodd. The first time was a general check-up, and I knew immediately that he was better for me than my previous OB-GYN. This second appointment was for my Nexplanon removal. The staff made sure during my first appointment that my insurance would cover the removal so that there would be no surprises on my end. Each time, I am greeted with exceptional customer service, from the reception desk to the MAs. Dr. Dodd has excellent bedside manner, was respectful of me and my partner, was humorous in a calming way, and made the Nexplanon removal nearly painless and quick while holding a whole conversation! About a week ago I went in for a Pap smear, didn't get the results I wanted so Dr. Dodd called and spoke with me about his findings. Got me in that same week for a colposcopy, I was TERRIFIED, 29 years old and going through a biopsy was a HUGE deal for me. I messaged him on MyHealthOnline around 11pm a few nights ago, and he INSTANTLY got back to me about 20 min later reassuring me everything was going to be alright! Even then I called the office about 4x regarding questions about the biopsy (you know freaking out) I spoke with Rayhana his assistant there, trying to juggle work and talking to her about the procedure at the same time wanting to know if getting numbed or even taking something to ease me would work better because I am HORRIBLE with pain, and she told me that was not necessary and that I'd be ok. Still I was a bit nervous. Today I went in for my procedure and I was still hanging by a thread, anxiety kicking in, shaking, all types of issues the doctor came in, (as always joking around, which I love!) made me feel at ease... I didn't have anyone there with me so Rayhana being the most amazing person she is, came around and held my hand through it all.. (with covid and all you'd think everyone would be all iffy about touching people but she was a TROOPER!) Dr. Dodd and her were talking me through as they were doing the procedure, (he is VERY good at making you relaxed and distracting you at the same time!) and with in seconds it was done, now it was a bit uncomfortable but it was not all that bad.. now the cramping and after effects are what they said it would be and I am a bit sore but the procedure itself was not excruciating. I have been dealing with specifically these two for about 4 years now and I would not have it anyway else!! You two are AMAZING!! keep at it!! Word of advice to patients who are getting the colposcopy; NO NEED FOR THE NUMBING SHOT ! You got this !! read more

Dr. Dodd is phenomenal! I've been his patient for almost 2 years. My first appointment with him, my husband and I found out we had a non viable pregnancy and Dr. Dodd and his team were so amazing through that entire process. I can't express enough into words how grateful I am to have Dr. Dodd as my OB. He was with me from the start that me and my husband were trying to conceive until my delicate pregnancy and life-threatening postpartum complication. I am alone here in America, no direct relatives, only my husband and his family. But during those time of postpartum complication, Dr. Dodd stood by my side, making me feel that I am not alone and I will be okay. He is a very hands-on doctor. He visited and checked me everyday. I love Dr. Dodd his level of expertise is phenomenal. Let's just start by saying that. This is my 2nd child my first was born at 25w 2d, once I told him that him and his staff spang into action I had a cerclage placed and was put on weekly progesterone shots. His staff which is surprisingly only two very professional young ladies named quanisha and cecila, who are always available and on top of EVERYTHING they always make the visits super quick. It's nothing that they could tell me about my pregnancy that I wouldn't do. From the moment I met him I felt at ease. He told me we're having this Baby!! He was so patient and Understanding of my concerns and fears. He put together a plan right away. I can't recommend Dr. Dodd enough. I've had Dr. Dodd as my obgyn for the past two years and I've only had great experiences with him and his staff. He is kind and takes the time to answer all your questions, no matter how silly they may be. He releases labs right away and always responds to messages on the my health system immediately. If my message ever sounded a bit too frantic or stressed, he calls me rather than just sending a message. I never felt like I had to push to get something looked at or addressed, he has a proactive approach. Finding a great doctor is difficult, they have a lot of patients to see and paper work to complete. I never felt like a hassle or a drain on his time. I adore Dr. Dodd, he is one of the best. With my last pregnancy, I had left my previous OB (in Modesto) who was unable to allow me to have a trial of labor for a VBA2C, after his practice opted to ban them (although he personally, disagreed). I was encouraged by this same OB to find a provider at Alta Bates in Berkeley, as they have a very high VBA(2)C rate. I did indeed find a provider there at a perinatal office, who ultimately delivered the baby VBA2C several months later. I was living in Stockton at the time, and did not wish to make the commute into Berkeley once a month for monitoring, so I saw Dr. Dodd first. As it turned out, he has privileges at Alta Bates, and was very supportive of my decision...even agreeing to be my local monitoring physician until it came time to deliver. I had seen him prior to this, a few years earlier...but was unaware that he was VBAC friendly at the time, so went to another OB in Modesto. At any rate, he was very honest with me and agreed that my best bet for actually getting my TOL, was to deliver at Alta Bates (as not all of his constitutes in his local practice would have supported my decision). In the end, I spent three days hospitalized with prodromal labor before I delivered. He just happened to be one of the doc's on call on my second day there, and it was so great to see his familiar face! I'm so grateful to him for all his kindness and support throughout that pregnancy and beyond. He was always so great to respond to my email messages immediately, and was so helpful in helping me along the way in that journey. The last time I saw him at my six week postpartum visit, we were about to make the move down to San Diego. He hugged me and wished me "good luck" at this last visit...I will always be grateful to him for his kindness and personal touch that he brought to my experience as his patient. read more

My wife has been experiencing serious symptoms after recently finding out that she's pregnant. We needed an earlier appointment than our initial OBGYN could offer, so attempted to give the offices of Dr. Dodd a try. We had an appointment for 7:50 am today (6/24) and were on track to be there by 7:35 am to allow enough time for paperwork. As we're heading out of the door, we get a call saying that we could not attend the appointment because an over the phone "abstract health screening" is required prior to appointments. This would be understandable had their team conveyed this upon scheduling and prior to the morning of the actual appointment. We explained that we were never given any instructions on this or a prescreening appointment and now all of a sudden being mentioned less than 40 minutes from when we were already scheduled to meet with the doctor. Mind you, they did conduct some type of health screening when making the appointment, but now requiring an additional last minute screening. At this point, we are waiting in our vehicle in front of our house waiting for the final verdict on if we should still leave for the appointment. I explained the confusion caused by their scheduling team, and Kalina advised she was able to work it out to where we could still make the appointment. She explained that we needed to arrive by 7:50 am. We explained that we would be cutting it close since we had been waiting in front of our house trying to sort out the confusion. We arrived in the hospital parking lot by 7:49 pm, I drop my wife of at the front door, I go park , and my wife made it to the office by 7:53 pm. By the time I make it up to the office, Julie (front desk) comes out to explain that the doctor had to take a meeting and that we would have to wait until 9:00 am because WE were late. Excuse me?!?! No, we weren't late by choice! Your team's mishandling of the supposed process made us 3 minutes late. I emphasized this while retrieving the supervisor's incomplete contact information (wouldn't provide email), and Julie just ignored me not acknowledging my justified frustration. I explained to them that my wife was robbed of the opportunity to make other arrangements to address the symptoms she's been experiencing had this office not mishandled processing her appointment. We both had to take the morning off work. They seemed to care less! If they can't handle what should be a simple routine initial appointment, then how can anyone trust them with safely ensuring a baby is properly brought into this world. read more

It is hard to find an ob/gyn that does not make you dread each visit. Dr. Dodd is an amazing doctor and those who work with him are great too. I recently had my first child and Dr. Dodd was my doctor. My pregnancy was very hard on me and difficult. In the first trimester I had complications and throughout the rest of the pregnancy I was sick and eventually pulled early from work and ended up having my son 3.5 weeks early. Throughout everything Dr. Dodd was great. Each time that I went for a visit and had a silly question he never made me feel dumb for asking. His answers were honest and blunt, he also reminded me often that "I chose to do this" which made me laugh each time. His personality is great, his sense of humor made things much easier to deal with. One thing that I will say is that at first when I would go in with questions, I would question what he answered. After about the third time of doing this I realized that I could take what he said at face value and had no reason to question it. He was always right, if I went in with an issue and thought it was the worst he would tell me exactly what it was (and it was never the worst). He is the only Dr. that I have ever had that I do not question anymore. Even now after my son has been delivered I still have had to see him due to issues that I have had. He takes the time to respond to my emails and has even called me more than once after hours or on the weekend to check on me or answer a question that I sent via email (even when he was not on call). I have also been able to walk into his office, without an appointment and be seen after a short wait. In my opinion Dr. Dodd goes above and beyond what most other Dr.'s do. Had I had any other Dr. I am not sure my delivery would have gone so smoothly. If I were crazy enough to go through a second pregnancy it would most definitely be under the care of Dr. Dodd. read more

I love Dr Dodd. He doesn't make me feel rushed at all. In fact, he makes me feel like he is very interested not only in my health, but the concerns that are important to me. He always answers my questions and emails quickly. He is very knowledgable, so he knows most answers off of the top of his head, so I can see where he may come of as "rushing" you, but I do not believe this to be the case. He probably gets the same or similar questions frequently, so he knows the answers, and usually the answers are quite simple. I prefer a simpler, more direct answer rather than an elaborate one. This is my first pregnancy so I do have quite a few concerns, and he is great about answering my questions and making me feel comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone needing an OBGYN. read more

After seeing so many OB/GYN doctors, Dr. Dodd is one of my favorites. My last pregnancy was the most difficult thing I went through and dr took very good care of me. Although my labor was long, he made sure the hospital and his staff knew how to proceed with any complications. Even now, after pregnancy he is quick in responding and making sure I'm taken care.
