We paid for a multi-project quote with the owner, Kevin Smith, back in March 2026. The quote specifically was for almost $116,000 and consisted of the following: broken backyard fence, new backyard gate, add backyard door, add backyard path, fix front path, fix chipped paint around the outside of the house, close off stairs to the loft with doorway, add heating in loft, replace AC unit for main house, extend and replace new patio deck with new railing, and complete full basement with full bathroom and heating add on. In April, they replaced our backyard fence and did not install backyard gate or door. They also gutted the two level patio and never replaced it until July. We did not hear from Kevin for most of the month of June as he ignored all of our messages. I have proof of messaging June 12, June 17, and June 26 about our deck that was gutted and not replaced for more than 2 months. We canceled our 4th of July party for my son's birthday because of this. It is now August, Kevin has received all scheduled payments from us except the final payment, totaling of $110,151.31 and all that is complete are the front path, and the side path. He has 95% of our money and refuses to communicate or finish the work. He's asked for additional funds because someone else failed to pay him. Yet, he has over $110,151.31 of our money and we do not have $110,151.31 of home improvements to show. His team has averaged maybe a week per month in our home. On July 27, we did a walk through with Kevin and asked him when will he be complete. He said 1-2 weeks, and never returned. After calling him August 3, August 6, August 11, and August 12 over and over again, my husband texted him August 12 to where Kevin responded he was in court all day August 11 suing who owed him money, and never mentioned our concern of when will our projects be complete. Someone else owing him money has nothing to do with the $110,151.31 he has received from us. We have notified Kevin he has until September 1 to complete all projects in our home or return the money of over $40,000 of unfinished work or we will be seeking legal action. He has not responded.
