Shane Rathel and I met to see if we were the right fit for each other - no pressure- he's not a salesman. As I learned, he's been doing it for over 30 years and is truly passionate about building pools/backyards of your dreams. I chose Shane Rathel, Inc. because it was the only company where the owner does the work and is on site when any subcontractors have to come in. I at least would have a point of contact if things went south! And he was just as competitive in price. Shane renovated my pool and replaced all my old pool equipment, took up my old deck, changed it to travertine and graded it so it drains like it should. My cement driveway is now a beautiful brick. My backyard is like a resort! It was neat to have someone who cares about making your pool the best it can be. And it was so nice to have all of this done through one person that you can trust. Shane made sure everyone did their jobs to his standards. You rarely see this level of craftsmanship, nor do you see the owner actually out there building the pool. I am so impressed with his work ethic and his integrity. And when it was all done, he has been great about getting back to me to answer any questions. He doesn't pawn it off to anyone else. I have made several calls to Jim Girvin regarding service and water quality. Nothing gets resolved. Jim Girvin doesn't even hold the license in his name for this business. He is collecting money, and not providing quality service. I was told on 8/25/2022 to either pay for monthly service in full for the year, or put a credit card in file for monthly billing, due to customers not wanting to pay. I can see why! If there is an issue, they send another tech out. I called and canceled service. I requested a refund and call back form Jim Girvin on 3/1/2023. Never got a call back. I also left a message with corporate office on 2/28/2023, to discuss obligation for franchise owners upholding Pinch A Penny brand. No call back to date. I will attempt to contact both on 3/3/2023. If no response, I will proceed with legal action.

I called the owner he said the screen door was locked which it was two weeks ago I got the message that someone had locked the door with in 30 minutes I was there to unlock the door. He never rescheduled that week the following week my uncle was checking on the house he watched his employee come and go in less than 10 minutes they obviously did not vacuum that was on Wednesday on Saturday we had to vacuum the pool the following week green algae filled the pool I called the owner he said it wasn't our scheduled day so there was nothing he was willing to do. I let him know hat I had a large party for Father's Day planned he did not care. Did not send anyone I went to the pool store shocked the pool and vacuumed still green this pool has been neglected for some time to behave this badly.
