We had no idea what it would finally look like, we only knew that when we saw it, we would know. Our third day of our hunt, we had Thompson's as the second of 3 planned stops. The wonderful Yelp pictures really didn't do Thompson's justice. Their entire property was stunning! I was in awe of the amount of acreage devoted to building supplies, a beautiful plant nursery, and all the wonderful statuary and other garden art in various themed displays. In my eyes, it had the atmosphere of a Disneyland of Landscaping crossed with a gardener's Toy Store. It was creative, calming, and impeccably maintained, with a vast variety of presentations nestled under mature trees and high patio coverings. It was beautiful, and the quality was very high end. First impressions held great promise. So, you would be correct in assuming that the things you will fall in love with will come with a substantial price tag. They don't sell junk. Ahhh, but it was here we found our dream fountain, a delightful, ~4' tall stone bubbler on a pedestal, with LED lights and cute little froggies. Instant love. And lo and behold, it was in our price range, in the middle $400's. It had that "je ne sais pas" we were hunting for, playful and definitely not cookie cutter looking. Several staff took extra time and effort to set it up, and another fountain as well, so we could have the full experience of seeing and hearing it work before deciding. So, we got it. It was so well made, it weighed about 300 lbs, and was darn solid. Greatfully, they used a forklift to bring it to our car and a couple guys to carefully load that sucker directly into our trunk. Good thing we didn't go bigger, because our car (with great shocks) now resembled a low rider. At the other end, my daughter and husband employed an extra hefty dolly to slide it out of the trunk and into its final resting place. What a feat, but they managed. It is now happily burbling, and was declared lovely by all, a real keeper, a unique find. Mission accomplished! What a fun adventure this was! Thank you, Thompson!

When walking in you are instantly greeted in a kind, respectable manner. You can't help but feel like you're in the right place. Besides it helps when the place is being run by two of the sweetest people. Genuine materials has some of the best quality we have worked with. In our ten years of purchasing, manufacturing and installing we have yet to experience any complications. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to the warehouse guys that go above and beyond as well. If something doesn't fit, they'll break pieces to fit, in your Honda fit. That's just the type of service that that you pay top dollar for. Everyone is treated with the upmost respect and care. 10+ Years of Loyalty Dismissed Over Poor Customer Service and Lack of Integrity…read more I've been a consistent customer of Resource Building Materials for over 10 years, frequently purchasing materials for both residential and commercial projects. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and has made me reconsider ever doing business with them again. On June 4, 2025, I purchased epoxy/resin products totaling $1,821.00 for a paver protection project at my home. These products turned out to be incorrect for the job, a mistake made by the contractor I hired. Wanting to resolve the issue properly, I attempted to return the unused and sealed materials on July 1, 2025--only 27 days after purchase, well within a commonly accepted 30-day return window. I spoke with Alexis, and later her manager Diego, who both demonstrated a stunning lack of professionalism. Initially, I was told flat-out that no refunds are allowed, which was surprising considering my long-standing relationship with the company. I calmly asked them to review the disclosures printed on the bottom of the receipt, which clearly state that returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee--not a total denial of return. Once I presented the facts, they pivoted and claimed the return was being denied because the purchase was made "over 30 days ago"--again, not true. I challenged them using the original purchase date and receipt, proving that only 27 days had passed. At that point, their excuse changed again: Diego questioned how they could know if the product hadn't been left outside in the sun. I found this completely unacceptable and insulting. For the record, the product has been sitting untouched in my garage, easily visible, stacked in sealed 5-gallon aluminum buckets. I immediately recognized them as unused materials and attempted to return them before any legitimate window would expire. This felt like an intentional effort to avoid issuing a refund or store credit--completely dismissing my long history of business with them. Rather than owning up to a poorly handled situation, they chose to pass blame, make false assumptions, and contradict their own return policy. There was no accountability, no willingness to resolve the issue fairly, and no appreciation for a customer who's spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years. And for the record, I do not like to leave bad reviews whatsoever. In fact, you can check my Yelp account--I don't leave bad reviews at all. It takes a lot to push me to this point, and for me to take the time to write this, you have to piss me off at least 10 times more than normal. That's how bad it was dealing with Diego and Alexis at Resource Building Materials. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. This is not how you treat a loyal client. If this is the new standard of customer service at Resource Building Materials, I can no longer recommend them--and will be taking my business elsewhere moving forward.

They have diverse options that are nicely labeled on the display and inventory section. The prices for some items are better than Home Depot. However, prices for cabinets and counter tops are more competitive elsewhere. Most stores nowadays only carry modern options, and here they carry the not-as-trending models too. Brand wise, other stores carry more options. For example, I didn't see Pfister or Kohler facets. Although the aisles are nicely labeled, it was hard finding my way around to the sections I needed without asking. Even then, not all employees knew exactly which section had the items and would give a range instead. I recommend monitoring cashier behavior. My cashier gave the impression of lacking respect for customers. She kept talking about food and lunch orders with the coworkers, looking at her nails, ignoring me as I waited at check out. It was not until I asked a third time if I could check out that I was acknowledged. Additionally, I was the only customer at checkout... I hope to see the checkout experienced improved for the future.
