I have used other trainers in the past and this is by far the most progress I have seen out of my dog, Skippy. Before skippy was always pulling on her leash but now is starting to walk by my side. We have done about 3 classes so far and plan to do more! I can't wait to see how much further skippy can advance. Reminder you also have to put in the work. Before that, we enjoyed dog parks and meeting other dogs and their owners on our daily walks. She became aggressive during puberty. The Vet said let's wait to see what happens after the spay. Jade got more aggressive, not less. Desiree is a dog whisperer. When we met at our consultation, Desire walked into my backyard, and Jade snarled and bounded across toward her. I almost fainted watching my huge dog running toward her. Desiree did her trainer thing, and Jade completely relaxed. I watched Jade become putty in her hands within minutes, and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. The training was detailed and extensive. My dog responds to me when I call her with a quiet "hey" when she starts to play with my cats or go towards the kitchen. She places in the house even when guests arrive, or someone rings the doorbell. Her PICA (eating non-food items) is almost completely gone. ( Jade is s/p a life-threatening bowel obstruction after eating a towel) She went to the dog park and played with a Golden until her energy was spent a few days ago. I can play with her off-leash and have confidence in my abilities to communicate with her. A couple of weeks after the training, Jade all of sudden began to be triggered by the satellite dishes and telephone polls on our walks. Well, you can imagine how difficult it became with aggressive barking and then refusal to move. I called Desiree, and she drove the 20 miles to my house immediately. My dog has been....... unpredictable when it comes to meeting people and other dogs, and recently decided to eat our couch. This is on top of barking continuously at noises outside and jetting out the door when it's opened (she's been skunked twice because of this). She DOES hear me when I used to tell her to come, but instead of coming to me, she'd wag her tail and chase whatever's more important in the back bushes. After just ONE session with Jenn, we completely re-focused my dog's attention and have since addressed every one of our concerns AND have recently started scent-training, which has kept our doggo super mentally stimulated. He took the time to listen to my specific goals: I needed Sky to truly become part of my "pack" and be well-behaved enough to join me at breweries, and events. Bill made it clear that the training wouldn't end when I picked her up; he committed to meeting with me for as long as it took for me to feel confident. Fast forward one month: I've been working with Sky every day and meeting with Bill weekly (and he is always perfectly on time). The transformation is night and day. My puppy is now 8 months…read moreold and has spent a total of 5 weeks here (3 weeks for board-and-train and 2 weeks for regular boarding). As a first-time puppy owner, I wasn't sure what to expect or if puppies just naturally outgrow certain behavioral issues. Either way, this is the only formal training she has ever had, and the results speak for themselves. She came back so incredibly well-behaved. And has reminded well behaved. When we go out in public, people always come up to see her because she's cute, but what they *constantly* comment on is how exceptionally well-behaved she is for an 8-month-old puppy. It is so validating to hear that from strangers! I love and fully agree with Anthony's methods and what he does here. If you want a well-behaved dog, Powerhouse K9 is the only place to go. My first dog was a puppy that grew to be amazing with her help. The second dog was an adult rescue who only needed a minor adjustment to be amazing. My current adult rescue, and third dog, is a train wreck. She's five years old and had never had formal obedience. I'm dealing with a 70 pound dog that jumps on people and furniture. She has leash aggression issues. She chases cats and is her own boss. Slowly but surely, Leah is helping me turn this dog around.
