The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. We reached out to several companies for quotes and while everyone was professional and knowledgeable, Tom stood out with his attitude and clear experience; he even noticed a few things that others had missed. The quote was reasonable, not the most expensive and not the least expensive, but solid. Tom helped us design the plan of action, including removing the bathtub and replacing it with a walk in shower, and shortly thereafter the work began. What can I say other than "Wow". Tom, Jose and the whole crew were absolutely fantastic. Whether it was Ruben whose work ethic would put anyone to shame, or the beautiful work that Ronald did on the tiling, the end result (just shy of 2 weeks later) was better than we could have hoped for. Can't recommend them highly enough. We have a 2nd bathroom that needs remodeling also and we will certainly be going back to Tom and the team to take care of it for us.

Amazing contractor!!!…read more Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I give them my highest recommendation!

By far the best outdoor living contractor in the DC area…read more They were very reasonably priced, provided a comprehensive estimate that allowed us to make easy decisions and communicated extremely well throughout the whole process and execution of the job. We now have the best patio in our DC neighborhood, our drainage problems are nonexistent and we are able to host gatherings very easily with tons of fun! They provided options for a stone patio, paver patio, and a brick patio. Obviously, as you can see in the pictures, we went with the brick! They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. All the work they've done has exceeded my expectations. Fernando is very knowledgeable, punctual, friendly, and respectful, and sets realistic expectations about the timeline of each project and what it will entail. As a young woman, I have had many negative experiences with other sexist contractors who assume that I lack enough knowledge in their field (electrical, plumbing, etc.) or that I have no common sense, and so they try to scam me or get away with poor quality work. It has been the opposite with Fernando. He takes the time to patiently and kindly answer every single one of my many questions, and explains things to me as many times as I need him to, always treating me like an equal. I have an old house, built in 1921, and in the decades before I owned it, it went through renovations that were not done well. This has meant that now every serious project in the house must be done carefully to ensure that it remains structurally sound and safe both in the short and long term. I only trust Fernando to do any work in the house at this point, because I regretted every other time I hired someone else. I appreciate so much that he always thinks about how to make the result even better than I asked for, and without me asking, cares enough to use his knowledge to come up with ways to make the best of this house that I love despite its limitations (e.g. building recessed shelves to maximize limited space). His prices are shockingly fair and he gives detailed invoices outlining his projected labor costs. If anything unforeseen comes up that might lead to increased costs, he immediately addresses it with you to discuss options and ensure you are comfortable with the outcome. His team cleans up after themselves and you can see that he treats his workers with respect. The projects he'd done for me include (but are not limited to): -Fixing a collapsed wall in the crawl space of my basement (it was so bad, you could see the roots of a tree from inside the house) and ensuring water could no longer leak into the house - Removing an old retaining wall and building a stunning brand new one - Replacing old floors with ceramic and vinyl ones - Building and painting a fence - Building a concrete walkway in my yard and fixing an old one - Fixing the flow of rainwater in my yard to protect the house from water damage - As well as less complex tasks like painting my interior walls And now, he is currently finishing my basement which is a very complex project given the limitations of the house, but I know it'll exceed my expectations as before.
