I reached out to every HVAC company on Staten Island for a brand new HVAC Solution. Incredibly, Three of them just never called back. (If they won't respond when I want to hand them several thousands of dollars, can you imagine If you call them when you have a simple problem and need heat on a 10 degree day, yeah right) The others that did call back and showed up for the estimate seemed very inexperienced, they looked at the old equipment and just shook their heads, others took pictures to ask for help. True, some of the old equipment was made before they were born. I admit this project was a challenge. Pat came in and immediately knew exactly what he needed to do. Without going into too much detail, because of his vast HVAC as well as electrical experience, he was able to save me a big chunk of money by troubleshooting and fixing instead of replacing some things. No one does that any more but Pat and his team still does. What he did not know at the time is just based on his very professional and incredible knowledge on that very first day I met him, the huge contrast from Pat and everyone else that showed up (and didn't), and a very good gut feeling, he was going to get the project even before he gave me the estimate. I could just tell he was the best of anyone else that showed up for the project. When he gave me the estimate, i was pleasantly surprised that his price was among the lowest of the bunch. When it came to the day of the install, Pat's team was professional, hard working, and respectful of our home. They did this complex install in just one day. Total Pros. I got a 3 Zone, Mini-Split, Variable A/C-Heat Pump System all connected to a single outdoor unit, that is amazingly quiet, ridiculously energy efficient, and keeps rooms very comfortable by not cycling on and off constantly. The system he installed is completely life changing. Not sure how I can fully put into words how much we appreciate Pat and the work he did and the system he expertly chose. In the past, we would bake in Summer or freeze in Winter so that we didn't blow up our energy bill. With the new Mini-Split, we only cool or heat the rooms we are using, therefore we simply don't worry about a big utility bill any more. The biggest thing though, we can finally sleep very well year round, no matter what the weather, without all the noise from the old units. We literally cannot hear the new units running. I have and will continue to recommend Pat and his team to my friends and family for any new HVAC Project or Troubleshooting or repairs of any older, existing system. He is the best HVAC guy on Staten Island and I can say that because I called them all for this project. The best was my neighbors, they came out of their house and asked questions on the day the system was being installed (always more curious than a cat) and called Pat shortly after they saw me getting my new system, but then again, they do that with everything I buy for the house. Our HVAC system started shutting off by itself two weeks ago, so the inside of our house was in the '90s on some days. I have a Sears Home Warranty Plan so I called for service and I even pre-paid my $100 deductible. I was scheduled for Aug. 7th with an 8:00 am-6:00 pm window and NO ONE showed up nor did I receive a courtesy call for a rescheduled, they didn't even show up on Monday and again no courtesy call. So I searched Yelp and found "P.T. Heating & Air Conditioning Service" and seeing all the positive reviews I gave them a call especially since they're local on Staten Island too. I got someone on the phone right away and they showed up at my door an hour later, Pat & Pat figured out the problem in minutes then began to service and clean my unit fully like pros without skipping a beat like tag-team wrestlers. I reached out to P.T. heating and air conditioning because of their positive reviews and I'm glad I did. Pat the owner responded quickly and asked for a quick run down of my problem which was a vent that was not working correctly. Jared, the technician arrived and began to investigate my issue, he tried numerous things trying to figure out the problem and finally realized that my vent was most likely cut off. He explained a few different options varying from least expensive to most. He was very honest and didn't try to sell me on any one solution. I appreciated his honesty and willingness to let my wife and I think about which option will work best for us. The price they charged was also a lot lower than I was expecting.
