I work at an office in D.C. I got a call this morning that went as follows: Dr. _____'s office how may I help you? "This is Amy, I need to speak with the doctor." Okay Amy what your last name. "Its Amy I need to speak with the doctor." Amy from where. "Its about his billing." He is in with a patient, what is this about. "I just need to speak with the doctor, can you set me a time to call him back?" The Dr. doesn't handle his billing, whats the problem? "Of course he handles his billing, he needs to know about changes to medicare, so that his billing isn't interrupted, just set me a time to call him back." They were trying to sell billing services to him. This Dr. has been using the same 3rd party billing service for over 20 years. He doesn't handle his own billing, nor is he about to switch. Also, don't call a doctors office rudely demanding to speak to him like its an emergency. Its a damn doctors office, emergencies are serious, and all secretaries aren't stupid. I found this completely unprofessional in the sense that they "Amy" was misleading, rude, insistent, demanding, and, well, unprofessional. read more

This company just cold called our office in an attempt to solicit business. In the call, the salesperson stated that she was from CMS Auditing, and needed to speak to the Dr. of the clinic NOW. CMS is a division of Medicare. I'm not an attorney, however, I believe it is fraudulent to call yourself part of the Government when you are not.
