He was so kind and comforting and extremely proficient in determining what the cause was and what treatment was needed. Recently, I had a very unique, hereditary type of ear infection that most doctors would not have seen nor treated before. Dr. Babajanian recognized the problem immediately and started treatment, then took me into emergency surgery within less than a day's notice. I am so grateful for his vast knowledge in this field of medicine, his compassion and consideration for the pain I was in, and the ease of communication he has with his patients. Thank you, Dr. Babajanian. I will always highly recommend you! P.S. You also have a very kind and friendly staff.

TLDR: Spare yourselves…read more I waited a while before deciding to leave a review because I wanted to make sure I was well-enough removed from my experience. I first went to Dr Aminpour in 2021 for a rhinoplasty. I liked the results of the Before & Afters of the surgeries he had done and I had a good consult with him so I decided to move forward. The first thing that I didn't appreciate was that he didn't do any simulation of what the outcome would look like because he didn't want to set expectations that may not be met. So I had no idea if what I was communicating to him was being understood or not. The procedure went fine however once the cast came off and swelling went down, it was clear that he only fixed the bridge of my nose and left the tip as it was - which was a HUGE part of what I wanted corrected. When I asked him why the tip wasn't done, all he said was, he just didn't do it.. He said I could do a revision with him and I would just have to pay the facility and anesthesia fees of $1700 (although I wondered why I would even have to cover any of it seeing as he simply chose not to do what I asked of him). A few years passed before I scheduled the revision, factoring in the healing time and added expense it would take, and when I came in for an appointment to tell him I was ready, he sat with me for 90 seconds just to tell me to schedule the pre-op appointment and charged me $250 on the spot. I might as well mention at this point that if you do schedule an appointment with him, you can quite literally be an hour late and you'll STILL have to wait to be seen, which really doesn't add up since I can barely talk to him before he leaves the room for his next patient. Now moving on to the office manager, Iris. Any time you speak to her, she rushes you and cuts you off before you can finish answering a question SHE asked. And if you so much as question anything, you will not be allowed a word in edgewise. For example, when she confirmed that the cost of the facility fees would be $1700, I was trying to figure out if I could get anything covered with insurance and she said they wouldn't know until it was billed - that's totally fine and exactly how it goes with insurance. However, since I was in open-enrollment at my company, I wanted to figure out if it was worth switching insurances to attempt getting anything back. So I called the facility and asked them directly. The manager asked what was being done and who with and told me that it wasn't $1700 -- it was $1200. Ok, that's odd. Why would I be given a different price by Aminpour's office? So when I went in for the pre-op and told Iris, she had a fit. "Why are you calling them?" "You NEVER speak to them, you only talk to me." "They would never give you a number." "You don't even know what facility it is." I showed her my call log of the facility's phone number and the 10 minute conversation I had and she still refused to believe me. The beration was so out of nowhere I had to think there was something fishy about it. But I decided it wasn't worth the argument and just gave them the $1700. At the pre-op I had another 90 second meeting with Dr Aminpour where I had photos lined up to show him what I wanted it to look like and it just felt like he wasn't even taking it in. I tried so hard to tell him I wanted to refine the tip, make it look smaller, reduce the bulbousness etc etc. Hoping he got the message this time around. On the day of the operation, a surgery being done by another doctor was running late so me and Aminpour's other five patients (he was doing back to back surgeries) were waiting over four hours from our original surgery time. Not his fault since this was another doctor. So I'm sitting in the prep room waiting and he sits in the chair next to me separated by a privacy curtain and FALLS ASLEEP. I know this because he was snoring like a fog horn. Even the loud banging of doors and equipment was not waking him up. Not exactly reassuring that he is ready to go perform surgery in a few minutes. Right before I go in I really try to emphasize again that I want the tip small, refined, NOT bulbous any more. Ok, I think he's got it. Finally, the surgery is done and a week later I go in to get my cast off and I can immediately tell that it's not right. I ask him, is the tip actually smaller? You took away the ball on my nose, right? He confirms yes he did, that it takes a while to bring down the swelling but keep it taped up for another week. It's almost 6 months later and I can tell you that the ball is still standing proud at the end of my nose, except as you can see from the photo now it's pointing further downward (think Gonzo from the muppets). I am so disappointed in this experience and the waste of money that got me here. Now I have to go get another revision done - this time from a different doctor - for 20k. It would have been cheaper if I had just gone to a top of the line surgeon in the first place .

Even at CanJam it's not really possible. When I heard about this being possible from Steve the Audiophiliac on YouTube via Dr. Julie Glick's - Musicans Hearing Solutions office, I booked an appointment immediately. Drove down from the Bay Area for this opportunity. First she checked my ears to see if they needed to be cleaned but my ears were already clean. Then onto the demo. I got to try many of the IEMs maybe 12 different ones (not sure), when I went. Ultimate Ears, Jerry Harvey Audio, and 64 Audio were available, and we did the blind tests. I did not feel rushed, and spent at least 2 minutes or longer with each IEM which is all I needed. My personal top 5 picks were, in this order: 64 A18t 64 A18s 64 A12t JH Jimi JH Layla 64 Audio A18t sounded very good, but then we put the m15 apex module in and I was sold. All 5 of them were excellent but I drifted more into 64 Audio's direction. Although JH had stronger bass. I ended up purchasing A18t custom IEMs via Dr, Julie Glick and was able to customize my pair, and even get a discount, and a free hearing test. Was surprised that my hearing came back normal since I've been to over 500 concerts and am constantly wearing headphones, etc. but grateful that I still have my hearing and also that Dr. Julie Glick's shop even exists. Not only am I happy with this opportunity, but it was worth the trip from the Bay Area (6 hour drive).

A Long-Awaited Pair of Golden Hands…read more My senior mom had been struggling with chronic sinus problems for quite some time. It took us months just to get her in front of the right specialist. We went from one doctor to another, then another--and at one point it became almost absurd when she was sent to a plastic surgeon instead of an ENT specialist. On our fifth attempt, luck finally brought us to the office of Dr. Ghiam. From the first appointment, it was clear that he knew exactly what he was looking at and what needed to be done. I still remember him looking at my mom and simply saying, "I'll take care of you." And he did. You know when being a doctor feels less like a profession and more like a God-given gift? That is how we feel about Dr. Ghiam. After months of being passed from doctor to doctor, with no one really explaining what was going on or offering a clear path forward--and with insurance that certainly didn't make the process any easier--finding him almost seemed too good to be true. Dr. Ghiam performed a complex sinus surgery on my mom, but his surgical skill is only part of why I am writing this review. Throughout the entire experience, he was incredibly kind, attentive and caring. He never made my mom feel like just another patient. At some point, it honestly felt like we were being cared for by family. Dr. Ghiam is an artist. A man with golden hands. How do you properly thank someone when "thank you" feels so small? Truly gifted professionals are rare. Truly gifted doctors who combine extraordinary skill with humanity and compassion are even rarer. We simply thank God and the universe that, after such a long road, they brought us to Dr. Ghiam. To us, he is a magician--and we will never forget what he did for my mom.

You want the pain the anxiety related to the pain gone. You need the doctor to free you to continue on with wherever your life's path takes you. Now I consider that the mechanical side of medicine. For a doctor who is a surgeon he knows what has to be done comes into surgery with his medical tools some of which look frightening , and precedes to do the best he can do to fix , to bring about the best results for the patients situation. For a lot of doctors in my long term experience in the surgical arena that's where it all ends . Dr solved the problem case closed . Follow up office visit soon. But there is another side of the coin, one that used to be called a doctors bed side manner. How quaint a term of the past but on this day and age a more meaningful word , rather powerful word would be compassion. An entire phrase not needed just the word compassion . A lot of doctors are great at the mechanics of the surgery but don't have one iota of the idea behind the importance of compassion. Now I don't know of the percentage of doctors with compassion in their souls but I have met such a man , enter Dr Michael Ghiam in this review I will list briefly his academic and medical history he is an otolaryngology/Rhinology quite a ear nose throat mouth full doctor working at ENT Group of LA in my home town Tarzana. His specialty anything from the neck up throat head neck sinus nose allergy and medical schools Vanderbilt U of Miami Cornell Columbia and others too numerous to mention honing his medical skills to perfection. But I believe he received the other side of the coin compassion from the innate ability to feel what his patients feel before during and after surgery their desire to feel cared for. My Lovley lady expressed this to me after her 5 and a half hour surgery called an Endoscopic Posterior nasal neurectomy wow another tongue twister not a simple surgery at hand another surgeon Dr Sarkiss there to assist if needed . The final result of the surgery was a huge success I state outright after 19 doctors failed to find the solution to my Lady's dilemma drGhiam solved it .Way too complicated to explain this in medical terms my wife had extreme nasal unstoppable nasal drip for seven years her life was in misery for this malady Vasomotor rhinitis I believe was the result of a car crash 7 years ago that made a considerable damaged sinus area Dr that needed a resection and block. Yes mechanics and dr expertise made the day but it was the compassionate side of the coin from the beginning that saved the day. Dr Ghiam speaking softly to her and explaining everything thorough. His persistence In making sure she had the necessary pain medication in timely manner and making sure she always knew what was going on all with the soft easy going presence of a caring doctor was a god send Also in a tip to those of need of an ENT please check out Dr Ghiam service non compared As in a previous review accolades galore for the wonderful Tarzana hospital a tribute to my home town Tarzana
