Life Changing!! First, let me just say I was getting so pissed reading through some of the bad reviews because I have now done (2) 3 month rounds of therapy here and all those complaints are just nonexistent now. I just laughed when I saw they were 5 and 10 yr old years old. They really should, at some point, be expired and taken down. Those old reviews have absolutely no bearing on how the place is run and staffed today. I started my first round of therapy at Pacific Coast in May of 2022. I HATED it, but had to wear a mask per PC rules, while in the facility, and they ABSOLUTELY spray and wipe down everything after patient contact and STILL DO. The mask, per state regulation is optional now, per the patients comfortability. After any kind of major surgery you are hurting. It is a no brainer that your recovery is gonna hurt too. Sitting down to pee hurts so I'm not sure what the previous clients were expecting. I've cried lots of times doing physical therapy. I WANT to push myself to get my full range of motion back. Your body just went through a very a traumatic experience with your surgery. Like you babies, it just wants to curl up and go to sleep, and wake up feeling better. So here's a Wake Up! It doesn't work that way! How old were these reviewers? I my past I have been sent to some pretty nasty boot camp therapy facilities and this ain't them. I have to say I was less than thrilled that my knee surgeon was so adamant about me using Pacific Coast for my p.t. post surgery because I live in Capitola, and at that time my handicap accessible van was costing me $150 to fill its tank. Not to mention dealing with the traffic. I also have back issues with surgeries overlapping or postponing my knee surgeries. My pain was constant and coming from everywhere. The LAST thing I wanted to do was get up, clean up, and make that 30 minute trek into Watsonville. I was so terrified the first time around, they may have indulged me a bit more with extended ice packs and massages. No matter what level of pain I was crying about or where it was coming from, they would convince me to come in anyway. I can tell you I ALWAYS left them either feeling better about myself or just feeling better in my recovery. There is such a good positive energy in that place. The therapists are young, excited to learn and work and really weirdly happy. The front desk has always treated me with respect and kindness and let me tell you, I am not an easy client. With my boo boos slowing me down already and just always running late in general because of my other handicaps, if I wasn't late I would be squealing in there bordering late, while all the good clients sat calmly, and clearly early, waiting patiently for their appointments. I've never seen anyone treated rudely. There may be times that I came in cranky, but it never lasts. It is just the epitome of the way Stephen Bruce runs that place and it just rubs off on everyone. They are empathetic if your pain without being condescending. They are serious in their work without being bored insensitive jerks (ok I too have had some bad past experiences), and if I ask one of the newer or younger therapists a question and he or she is unsure of the answer they immediately go seek Stephen out to be able to come back with the current information. It blows me away, especially in my medical world if I get the standard "I don't know," and then leaves you still in question. Here you get, "I'll go find out,". I could go on and on, and I will probably, when I finish my therapy for my right total knee replacement. So I will just close with this...this place is WORTH the drive, the time, and the effort. You will Never leave this facility feeling worse than when you came in and I PROMISE you, this id not a physical therapy assignment you have to drag yourself to. It's the highlight of my week. It lifts you physically, mentally, and a bit spiritually as well. I'm already feeling sad that I only have 3 more sessions before I get to "Ring the Bell!" My name is Arthur Segura. My profession is a commercial driver. In late 2022, as I got out of my truck I took a step and had a complete rupture of my (RT) Achillies tendon. the pain was severe. Shenea, this is absolutely a lie and impossible. The only person who knew of the issue was Steven Bruce when I spoke to him on the phone. Of course he denied the allegations. Again, there were two independent witness statements verifying what Bruce said about our son's injury. Don't "gossip" about a clients medical information in a public setting and say your clients injury "is all in his head." Ethically he failed us and our son. Again, the MRI proved my son had an injury, something Bruce never believed in my son! From what I was told, Steven Bruce was the owner of the facility. I never heard of your name or ever saw you while I was there. Did you recently take over the business? Either way, I made me review and obviously your business is completely dishonest and untrustworthy. At first I thought your response was an automated reply because no one made any attempt to reach out to us, EVER. People can judge for themselves. read more

I've been to Pacific Coast several times due to shoulder pain, when I was unwilling to go with cortisone. The staff is fantastic and able to accommodate my schedule. I have stuck with the exercises they recommended and there is a noticeable difference in my ability to sleep pain free when I do not. read more

I have been to this PT office several times over the years. Years ago I was being seen for an ankle issue. The doctor was trying to prevent me from needing surgery since I work on my feet all day. Coming in for PT off and on for several years helped delay the surgery until I tore a tendon. All of the therapist as well as the aides were super helpful and helped me get to my goal. About 5 years ago I finally had to have surgery and again Pacific Coast Therapist helped me recover from a very extensive surgery. Thanks to their help and knowledge I was able to recover and return to work as a nurse where I am on my feet 12-16 hours a day. Recently my doctor wanted me to go to PT for my shoulder. At first they just automatically sent my orders to a PT associated with them. When that office called me to set up appointments they wanted to set my first appointment for that week and my second appointment for six weeks later! How was that going to help? I called my doctors office and had them send the orders to Pacific Coast Therapist. Their availability was much more realistic. Their skilled therapist have been able to get me out of pain and help with the muscle spasms I was having. Their aides are always helpful and ensure you are doing the exercises correctly so you can recover. This will always be my go to PT office and I will always recommend them if anyone asks me where to go. read more

I was referred to this PT group from my orthopedic office for a pretty complex ankle injury and have to say I was very impressed and happy with the way the PT staff managed my treatment plan and my post op ankle surgery. Debra and Emely and the rest of the Physical Therapy team were down to earth, professional and had a way to also make you relax while you were getting your PT and exercises. I entered your facility in a W/C 2 1/2 months ago and was able to walk out on my own to go out my vacay! I appreciate all the efforts you made to help me walk again! Thank you. I was sent there for shoulder problems. Kept saying exercises are hurting the shoulder. Told no pain no gain. Well, guess what? After quitting and refusing to go back an MRI was done. I knew what I felt when I was doing their exercises that the rotator cuff was torn. How did I know this? I had previous rotator cuff tear and it felt the same way! When I have had other physical therapy sessions different offices I have always worked with the same P.T. but not this place. You get helpers. Agree, the equipment needs to be wiped down between patients. Sorry won't recommend this office to anyone, front office staff don't seem to know what they are doing either. read more

My family and I have all benefitted greatly from the therapists at this place. Steven Bruce is a wonderful therapist who has a passion for helping his patients, and it shows. He has been able to diagnose things that were missed by doctors in more than one instance for me as well as my family members who have also used him. His deep and practical knowledge of body mechanics and his ability to pass on that knowledge to patients is a real gift. I have discovered that physical therapy offers long term healing because of the combination of care and prescribed exercises that strengthen and build on healing care...the homework they give you trulyworks! I've been treated by Steven Bruce and his team of highly skilled therapists for lower back injury, plantar fasciitis, ankle tendonitis and frozen shoulder over the years. My kids and my husband have been here for successful treatments as well. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Horrible. I haven't been getting better and every session is torture that leaves me in tears because it hurts so much. Today an assistant seemed confused that I was in so much pain from the therapy and asked if I was doing the exercises at home. No! No one ever told me to do the exercises at home, nor how often! I would've remembered that!!! So basically this was just weeks of torture and not helping at all because no one gave me all the info I needed. I am completely astounded by this. I agree the therapists are wonderful. I saw Erin and she definitely deserves 5 stars. However, the problem is the office staff who rude and unhelpful. They sit around chit chatting while patients stand in line. I had to cancel an appointment due to a family emergency and when I called to rescheduled the staff were rude that I hadn't been in for awhile then wouldn't give me an appointment for several weeks, by then my authorization had expired. Steven Bruce is one of the smartest health care providers I've ever had. He is a physical therapist with excellent communication and treatment skills. His knowledge about the body is extensive and his treatments are effective. He cured a previous injury several years ago and I'm now back for an injury to a different body part. I've seen two orthopedists, an orthotics company and a personal trainer, but Steven Bruce "got it" right away and started a treatment plan. I trust that this injury will improve under his care. Therapists and techs are good, but not great. They don't provide exercise instructions for home care, which is super important. Facility looks old and not too clean. Equipment that is touched by everyone should be cleaned between patients, but it is not. They only have therapy available M-F 8 - 5. Not too convenient for me; since I work full time I would have preferred to schedule evening and Saturday therapy. read more

I highly recommend Pacific Coast Therapists! I enjoy coming for my PT here. I feel welcomed here and very much at ease. I'm never rushed and my sessions are never 30 minutes or less like it was when I attended Balance PT. Kayla is amazing as well as the rest of the team (Steve, Emily, Joel, and the rest of staff). Kayla is caring and compassionate. She listens to my needs and implements a treatment plan accordingly. She Rocks! I have tried multiple PT centers this one is awesome and worth me traveling from Salinas to receive care here. Previously I was at Balance PT in Prunedale and Andy the DPT did not meet my needs it seemed he was afraid to provide the much needed manual PT that I needed such as massage and acupressure. He lacked confidence and rarely provided encouragement or adequate instruction. I always felt rushed and never stayed more than 30 min. That's why I decided to take my care to Pacific Coast Therapist and they've done a wonderful job with well rounded treatment plan (massage, acupressure, hot and cold therapy and a variety of exercises). I've had a few rounds of care at PCT. With rare exception, I've found everyone to be skillful, caring and effective in guiding me to better holistic health, strength, and mobility. Some of the front office personnel can be a bit crusty, but it is important not to take any of it personally. Compared to other PT facilities, I've been comfortable and treated with respect throughout, and inspired to take charge of my own health and well-being. The hands-on (bodywork) has helped me tune into what's happening and to make more progress than just the exercises alone. I enjoy the comradery, the lively personalities and how the staff works together. I've learned and gained a lot from the various therapists, Erin to Steve to Austin, and am very grateful for all they do. read more

Being a patient of the for 2 years i have never felt so disrespected in my life horrible office manager acted like she was doing me a favor by getting out of her chair and acknowledging my issue. She would not let me explain the issue and wanted me to make a self diagnostic becuase she didn't want to go into her computer to look them up. Ultimately their loosing me as a patient. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The therapist deserve a better representation at the front desk. read more

I saw Dr. Christiansen for my hip injury. After I had been dealing with months of excruciating pain, she was able to find the root of the problem and develop an exercise plan that strengthened the surrounding muscles and my core, while the torn muscle healed. She was so encouraging every step of the way, and I am happy to report that my pain is 100% gone! I just finished my last appointment today. I am truly grateful for the team that helped me achieve my goals of returning to an active lifestyle after being hindered by pain. The whole staff is friendly, and the facility is clean. read more

The physical therapists are professional, knowledgeable, effective and friendly. Front office staff doesn't appear to be trained in customer service and professional telephone techniques. The front office staff never smile at incoming patients. I suspect the staff are trained as purely back office staff, with little to no interaction with clients, customers, patients, etc. I'd say they are more like accounting or filing clerks. I recommend that their employer spend some money to provide adequate training to these hard working women to provide them with the necessary client services skills. Otherwise, the professional staff gets an A+. read more
