Everything went well! I hired PFF to do a crabfeed. We had 45 people, they did Cesar Salad, Pasta, Tri-Tip, Garlic Bread and Crab. The food was legit! Everyone told me it was the "best crab feed they had been to". The service was perfect, not too rushed and the servers were good about refilling the Crab. They did a nice dessert tray at each table. We used this company for our Rehearsal Dinner at the recommendation of the day-of coordinator for my son's wedding. They ran out of the main entree before even half of the guests had gone through the buffet line, and when I asked the servers to bring more, they replied that there was no more. I felt sick to my stomach because people were still coming in late and I worried that there wouldn't be enough food. We had worked so hard for months to host an event that the kids and their friends and family would enjoy and be proud of, and one bad decision on the caterer has me filled with regret. A few weeks after the event, Erin, our representative from Pacific offered to refund $500 for the inconvenience and their mistake in not sending enough of the entree. Several times I have reached out to Erin to ask why we never saw the credit on our card, but she doesn't even respond. Had Pacific catering provide food for a surprise birthday party at a tiki bar. They custom made an island themed menu that met several dietary restrictions (vegetarian and pescatarian). The night before the party we caught covid and had to scrap all plans. With less than 24 hours notice they said it was no problem to cancel and offered to due it at a rescheduled date yet to be decided on yet, with no charge (despite the fact that I'm sure they started making food). Their first words on the phone were "how are you both doing?" expressing genuine concern. Rare to work with great people! These guys were incredible to work with! We had a birthday celebration for me that my husband was supposed to take care of the details (ha! ha!). A week before the event, he still hadn't gotten the catering. We searched and found a few whose menus were appealing - one just did charcuterie boards, one returned our call too late (but very nice) and Erin of Pacific Fine Food immediately reach out, crafted a spread with the $$/head we were thinking of and made sure we were reassured that everything would go as planned. She always responded immediately whether via text, phone or email. Wonderful communication! On the date of the event, the driver (forgot his name) arrived on time and beautifully laid out everything on the table. He gave us some instructions to make sure the taco bar was at the correct temperature and other little details. The food was a hit and the quantities were generous! And believe me, I was nervous since I hadn't sampled any prior to placing the order. On Monday, the same driver picked everything up at the time he said he would. He was very courteous, kind to our dog, and mindful of our home (10 stars in our book!). We can't recommend this company enough and plan on using them for other events we will host in the future. This was the second time I used Pacific Fine Foods (PFF) to cater an off site conference for my company. I also had the luxury of hiring a full time person from PFF to be on site for the two day event. Someone to assist with "banquet" needs. Since I had become familiar with PFF, Kelly (the owner) and her team earlier in the year, I left the menu choices entirely up to Kelly, with my only request that food be "walk away" in the event that we had leftovers. Neither myself, or my company like to see food waste! Kelly picked a fabulous menu. This event was in a semi-warehouse environment, and we had no way to store food, or heat left overs. The breakfast was far from your typical Continental...we had freshly made (and I might add...homemade) breads, coffee cakes and scones, cinnamon twists with homemade peach/pear jam that was to die for! Of course, it was all accompanied by fresh whole fruit, hard boiled eggs, and an assortment of tea, coffee and divinely infused cold water. Yummm, the Vanilla and Orange water was the best! For lunch on the first day we had warm sandwiches that were individually wrapped in colored parchment paper. The pulled pork was SCRUMPTIOUS, and I "heard" that the Jerk Chicken and Grilled Pepper sandwiches were equally delightful. I wouldn't know...I was stuck on that pulled pork sandwich. The sandwiches were accompanied by a seasonal spinach salad topped cranberries, pomegranite, persimmon, heirloom tomatoes and carmalized pecans, with a choice of homemade balsamic or lemon yogurt dressings. The pasta salad was equally fresh and delightful. The dessert...lemon bars and pear tart...well, let's just say, I probably gained some weight that day! All of the utensils, plates and drinking cups were "green" and compostable, a big plus in my book! RECYCLE! The layout and presentation of the food was wonderful. PFF uses a lot of vintage serving ware, and their attention to detail made the entire layout of food welcoming. Lovely tablecloths, baskets, chaffing dishes and containers. Not the typical boring stuff...hot pots, tin looking serving ware, plain plastic cups. The second day was equally as delightful, and I could go on in more detail, but this will wind up being a book instead of a review! Oh, did I mention the Eggs Benedict salad with fried eggs (yes fried eggs!), grilled prosciutto and avacado with a hollandaise vinagarette?! And the mini pumpkin pies with the maple whip cream topping? No? Well, let's just say it was a culinary delight, especially given the fact that we were somewhat limited to sandwiches. What a mess. I think the owners name is Kelly? We used them for an event and they came an hour late and completely unprepared. There were 3 servers for 180 people. Two were wearing flip flops, which seemed incredibly unprofessional and unsanitary during a formal event, not to mention unsafe. They forgot to bring serving platters. One server (who said she doesn't know how to do banquet serving but was related to the owner and came to help out) said she could cover a table with a GARBAGE BAG to put a food display right on since it was "sanitary." Then the owner was completely rude and unapologetic; her excuse was "we were busy and I just didnt have time to get ready." Then why take this job? Please, next time turn it down and let us pay a caterer capable of doing the event. read more

This is a caterer that is fine for small (-100) events. Her presentation is excellent and her food is ok, if somewhat predictable. She does not use professional servers and it shows. For a small, cheap event PPF is a good choice but not for more upscale occasions. Alameda has so many great options now when it comes to quality catering. Having worked with PFF several times this is just not one I would honestly reccomend. This seems to be a more up to date review than most of the others listed. read more

Really enjoyed our Covid Thanksgiving meal! Usually we go to a local restaurant and have a meal. This year, not so easy to do, and we haven't dined in a restaurant in over six months due to the virus. Yes, things have opened up a little but we are just wary of dining next to people we don't know. Anyway, Milton ordered the turkey and I the squash. Both of us were very happy - with quality of food, quantity, seasoning and presentation. Every single dish was tasty in my opinion. The salad was a nice mix of persimmon, pomengranates, feta and greens (although Milton said he didn't have persimmons on his). The zucchini cakes were tasty with some texture. The brussel sprouts with maple glaze were yummy. The squash was a nice meaty texture combined with the rice. Whole cranberry sauce on the side. Even the bread roll had some herb seasoning. I was full so I only took one bite of my pumpkin pie and that was delicious also. The food was packaged on an actual plate. We were going to go to the beach and eat but it was a little windy. So we just sat out in the backyard and ate and the dog had a little turkey and mashed potatoes also. Milton is interested in checking out the Friday dinner and possibly getting Xmas dinner here also. I had great reviews on the food from all the wedding guests (to be honest, as the bride, i didn't eat much but what I tasted was delicious). I would never use this caterer. I called to inquire about a catering job. I asked the person who answered how she was, she didn't hear me, I repeated myself, and then she rudely told me that she did not have time for a conversation. I paused for a moment to try and ask if this was the right # for Pacific Fine Foods, and she hung up on me. Fuming, I immediately called her back and asked for the manager. She rudely stated that she was the owner and immediately told me that she was not going to buy anything from me. She assumed that I was a salesperson, when in fact, I was a potential customer. The food was fantastic and the amount included was very generous (yay for leftovers). Our guests raved about the food. my worktime luncheon was catered by pacfic fine foods today. everything was yummy! i can't comment about the service at all (since i wasn't the one who made the arrangements), but they were right on time delivering the food and my admin lady did mention they always do a great job and have a variety of different types of food (i think she has worked with them on several occasions prior). we ordered an argentinian feast, which included grilled steak, a shrimp curry thing, plantain tomales, salad with fig vinaigrette an array of grilled veggies, seasoned rice, a coconutty sauce, "crusy" rolls with butter, and individual banana cream pies. yummola! this was my favoritest catered luncheon EVER. read more
