First off, 100% pros! Highly recommend you consider (at least get a quote) using the historic venue for any function for 70 or less! Susan (owner) is prompt and responsible on communications. Usually same day, 24 hours at the most. She is also a direct communicator (i.e., she will volunteer best practices in advance - which I personally resonated to). You can tell she has expertise in catering immediately. We needed a seating plan for our church's 20th Anniversary to accommodate 70 people and were able to get 60 in the main room and another table for the remaining 10 just outside in the adjoining buffet/bar area ( with line of sight to main room there was no problem). We opted in for some appetizers and a buffet style menu and hosted refreshment bar. The catered pricing, including venue was more than I was expecting, but in hindsight was reasonable considering the flexibility in set up accommodations, wonderful service and tasty food. Susan permitted several onsite run throughs for us, and gave us early access to set up which was an unexpected perk. Our service team consisting of Lisa, Julie, Adriana and Shelly were all in place and totally in the zone the entire event. They had out on platters the stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes three minutes into the welcome and mingle portion of the banquet. The coffee pot and condiments were ready all through the three hour event. The buffet line was opened and the food was warm (could have been hotter), but all tasty. I suggest that the gravy pot be reposition because it was hard to get too with being squeezed in between the two serving bins. Not sure why at some point that one of the staff members moved into the line to serve out the chicken fillets only. That was a little odd. The cake was expertly platted and served at the right moment. Tables cleared and waters refreshed adequately. Parking was street only but had nearby options so it all worked out well. The Audio/ Visual equipment was above average and worked without any issues. The entrance way on the front corner of the cafe would benefit with a cautionary led light or tape on the entry's one step as it blends into the approach and can represent a trip hazard, but we had no issues during our event. The bathrooms are eclectic, in character and clean. This organization did a fine job for our special event and we are very glad to have selected High Street Catering and Cafe. High Street hosted and catered our company holiday party (42 People), and I would recommend them in a minute. Susan and Adriana did a wonderful job - as did others supporting them. They were very easy to work with and accommodating, making our planning, decorating and set up very easy and convenient for me and my team. They were wonderful hosts and made everyone feel welcome. The food was great, from the rounds of appetizers, salad, choices for mains (tri tip and chicken) to the roasted veggies and desert plates. A really nice touch was the custom drink menus that Susan developed after learning more about our business. Even the leftovers, were handled well, they packaged up "meal kits" that people could take home - as opposed to simply boxing up in bulk. As it goes its the little touches that make it all come together. I found Susan by using a website that reaches out to local venues, and Susan got back to me within 30 minutes and we got things lined up! As a note - others barely got back to me - or when they did, they asked questions that I had completed in the inquiry form... Not Susan - she was on top of it. High Street Catering is the only way to go. 5 stars doesn't explain how wonderful it is to have such great people with such incredible culinary skills take over my step moms and Dads funerals. Just such a pleasure not only were they so amazing, and empathetic they felt immediately like family and were amazing to work with. I was attending my step moms funeral and they nailed Jan's family recipe where I know our late mom would be extremely satisfied and content looking down on all of us from heaven with a big smile from above. As all of our family and her closest friend's were celebrating her life. That was in January when this happened then my Dad passed away in October and we knew exactly where to go. Susan Timney and the whole team took care of us like we have been close childhood friends and the food was so amazing they knocked it out of the park once again. We had a party for 16 people last week and the original caterer needed to cancel 5 days before the event due to COVID. I contacted Chef Susan from High Street Catering and she helped us out. The food (chicken and salmon entrees with appetizers, veggies and polenta) was fantastic. The service (Adrianna and Debbie) was excellent (passing appetizers, helping serve the wine, setting up the meal, cleaning up). All our guests enjoyed the food, service and how it was set up). I hosted an event here for my Alameda-based Cruise Planners franchise this past weekend and I am SO happy I did. Owners (and caterers) Susan Timney and Lynda Kretlow are amazing to work with. For my event, they fixed warm and cold hors'deuvres that were very tasty! High Street Station's facilities were perfect for my needs and will work for so many different types of events. The ambience is warm and welcoming. The acoustics are great for presentations and performances. They have a state-of-the-art overhead projector with WIFI connectivity that makes hooking up your Powerpoint presentation a snap. The seating area is comfortable and conducive to any group gathering. We had a wonderful take-away dinner last night from High Street Station Catering & Events. It was beyond tasty, well balanced, sides and dessert all complemented the main course - chicken cacciatore (each serving had two large chicken breasts.) Excellent experience all around! Susan was so easy to work with and made great suggestions to guide the menu for a 50 person lunch celebration at our house. Delicious chicken picatta, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, tortellini, salad and focaccia bread. The guests raved about the food, and I appreciated that the appearance and quantity aligned perfectly with expectations. Adrianna stayed and helped serve, which was a godsend. She was so lovely and professional and kept the wine, water and coffee flowing, the food hot and appealing and the guests happy. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at High Street Station and the whole experience truly exceeded our expectations. Lynda and Susan were fantastic to work with as they helped with planning, coordinating, giving tips here and there, and making sure that we had the best wedding possible. The food was delicious! We had hot and cold appetizers, full buffet dinner, cake cutting, and bar service. So many of our guests remarked how great the food tasted and we happily ate leftovers for a couple days after the wedding. Above everything else, the service was phenomenal. Susan, Lynda, and their staff went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was special and that all of our guests were taken care of. We were filming a movie short in Alameda and needed catering for a decent amount of cast and crew. The hours were overnights and I had called numerous places and they either couldn't accommodate the times or our budget. Finally I called Susan and Lynda and I hit the jackpot. Not only did they help us out but they didn't mind coming out at midnight to bring our food. There were 50-75 people who are tired, cold and hungry and they were so grateful for the warm, delicious food that was delivered with a smile. So much love for High Street Station!!! We had a middle school band dinner and concert fundraiser for about 450 people. We used High Street Station Catering for the event. Great choice! So incredibly easy to work with, gave us great prices, completely professional and prompt with all of the serving needs (our event was outside without any kitchen and they gave us everything we needed to keep the food warm), and the food...DELISH!!! I received compliments all night and the next day as well about how good the food was. Rotisserie chicken was moist and so incredibly yummy! I can't imagine cooking for that many people and still have the quality of food that they had. When we couldn't confirm the final headcount because orders were still coming in on the day before, they were flexible and even threw in extra servings for us as a donation just in case. These guys are good, honest people and so incredibly great for the Alameda community! read more

High Street Station Catering did an amazing job on my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. Susan and Lynda were attentive to every detail, incredibly helpful and responsive during the planning process, and on point during the actual event. They and their staff were outstanding at making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and especially well-fed! So many of our guests commented upon the perfect venue, delicious food, and wonderful service. The food was beautifully presented and so tasty. While the lunch was amazing, I have to give special credit to the desserts: tiramisu and two flavors of cheesecake, both outstanding! There was also a chocolate brownie that I have assume was awesome because it disappeared :) As a final touch, Susan packed up all our leftovers so we could enjoy what remained over the next couple days. I should also add that Lynda did a fabulous job of making announcements, choosing music for the moment, and generally keeping the whole party on track.
