I went and saw the doctor for some G.I. problems and he proceeded to criticize my pulmonologist and my naturopath. He dismissed what I had to say and my thoughts on what was wrong and his first response was I probably needed a colonoscopy even though I had one a year and a half ago that was normal. I prefer to work with doctors who work with me, listen to me, and are respectful. I left and told the office staff that I would never be returning. I recommend avoiding this place. read more

I had a colonoscopy here and woke up with severe rectal pain that lasted for days. It ended up being a cut in the skin which turned into a fissure. Still dealing with it 7yrs later. He very clearly DID NOT read my medical history/referral before my appointment, asked me the stupidest questions that would have been answered in said medical history, and has an INCREDIBLY CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE AND DEMEANOR. This experience is the epitome of WHY and HOW our western medical system is failing patients. What a complete waste of my time. This guy needs to pull his head out of his ass, no pun intended. Went in for a visit Dr. stated that someone would call to schedule my procedure "never" rcvd call, I called and left a message approx. two weeks later "still" no call. Called again 4 weeks after visit just to see if I owe anything being I found another doctor to do the procedure, again left a message lets see if they call back.... I'm betting no. read more

First meeting with the doctor and within seconds he rattled off my maiden name (Goble) and told me "you know that's a Nazi Name" and then I responded with some family history on why it shouldn't actually have been my last name to begin with, because the situation was awkward, and I'm overdue for this procedure. He didn't stop there, he started scolding me because my doctors office sent over a list of all the medications I've ever taken to his office. His medical assistant who was going over them with me was reading them off fast and I asked her several times to slow down and let her know that many on that list were not correct. She informed me it was her first day and thought it would be okay. The doctor told me I shouldn't trust my primary care physician with medication lists and started becoming angry while I was pulling the list from my purse. He wouldn't stop and I stood up and said "I'm going to leave, I don't feel comfortable having you perform this procedure on me". It had to all stem from the Nazi comment in the first introduction. He blocked my ability to leave the room while profusely apologizing and kept begging for a 2nd chance. I had to push my way out of the door and all his office girls were staring our way once it opened. I instructed them to reverse to co-pay charge and he came out saying "I'm sorry, give me a chance". I said I don't trust you at this point and left. read more

I seldom take the time to write reviews here, but this place got on my last nerve, so I'm here to share. First, regarding the procedure: It was fine. I went through the normal prep steps, including drinking the awful tasting laxatives, only to get a call saying their equipment couldn't be sanitized that day due to a mechanical failure. Okay, that sucks, but things happen. We rescheduled, went through the whole thing and all was fine. Nice folks. My poor review is based on the billing experience. My procedure was in June. The next time I heard from them was six months later, when I got a fill-in-the-blank letter from them saying "we will be unable to schedule you for any future appointments due to a lack of payment." Huh? I never got a bill. A week later, another letter came, this one threatening to turn me over to collections. What?! You go from no billing at all to collections in one step? I called them, expressed my disgust and offered to pay, but the payment wouldn't go through. I suggested they try again the next day. From that point on, they kept calling me about this $45 bill. Forty-five dollars that I'd never been billed for. There's just truly a level of incompetence in the business operations of this office, so I would avoid using Pacific Gastroenterology even if their medical services might be satisfactory. To finish this story on the perfect note: Over this past weekend, I went online and paid the $45. In today's mail, I received a letter saying that if I didn't pay immediately they would turn me over to collections, and this time--finally--they sent an invoice. I actually kind of regret paying them, simply because I hate to have them think their threats worked. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Ferdows for over 10 years. He is very thorough and also personable. He doesn't rush through the appointments and answers any questions you may have. He also has a good since of humor. My husband and I have had Colonoscopies and I have had Endoscopies in the Pacific Gastro Clinic and I must say it is one of the most sanitary and clean clinics I have seen in my 74 years. It really puts your mind at ease when you see how clean everything is. The staff are very friendly and professional and really make sure you are comfortable. They are extremely nice! They also have a really good choice of music while your waiting... Dr. Ferdow provides you a detailed report of the surgery and all the procedure involved plus photos of the surgery. I highly recommend this clinic for any pertaining problems you may have. read more

Had a colonoscopy here and the procedure was fine. The issue and reason for the review is their billing system and overall communications. My insurance covered the costs but they billed me an ADDITIONAL $4K because they didn't like the price the insurance company was willing to pay. NOT MY PROBLEM. Told them to take it up with the insurance company. Then they threatened to turn my account over to a collection agency for a $10 copay that the never billed me for. RUN from this place. I consider myself very fortunate to have Dr. Ferdows and his staff taking care of me. The best thing that they have done for me is to ease my anxiety and nervousness regarding my symptoms. The staff have always been attentive by returning my phone calls, providing me with necessary information and by providing reminders of appointments. They are friendly, knowledgeable, professional and they appreciate good laughs. My tele-med conferences, though not preferred, always have gone well. I have been a patient of Dr Ferdow since May. I was recommended by a friend. I've been miserable for well over a year and was desperate for answers. First appointment went well. We tried some meds and at first they seemed to help! However a few weeks later my symptoms came back so i was back at his office yet again. I was told to eliminate dairy for a week and see if that helped or made any difference. Then at next visit I was told to go back to eating dairy but add more fiber. Fiber made my stomach worse! Each time I would go see him we would spend the first 10-15 minutes of him reading my notes from every prior visit so that he would remember me. This last visit he was 45 minutes late getting into the exam room and then proceeded to read notes. I stated I was still having severe stomach pain and he said we had never talked about that!!!! I have mentioned it every visit! Not my fault he didn't write it down, nor remember me so to speak. He wanted to test me for something I had never heard of. Asked what it was and he said we would talk about it if I even had it. When I mentioned that I would just look it up he said to please don't do that because it would make his life miserable. He also said he was almost to the end of his rope with me and what was going on. LIKE REALLY?!?!?! I have NEVER felt so disrespected or dismissed by a medical provider. My husband was extremely irritated and in shock at the words coming out of this mans mouth! I have now had my primary doc order all the labs he ordered and will be going directly through my primary for these. I am so disappointed at how I was treated as I really thought he could have helped! Lastly I could hardly ever get a word in. He always has to talk over me! Or cut me off! Which I have now read in other comments, that he seems to do this to many of his patients. read more

Zero follow thru and scheduling receptionist is super rude! Dr talked over me the entire time so I had a difficult time telling him all my symptoms. He suggested an endoscopy, and I later found out I have Celiac disease from a different Dr, something he never mentioned as a possibility. I went there yesterday for a screening colonoscopy after my primary care Dr. referred me, since I hadn't had one in over 10 years. From the first interaction to discharge after the procedure, I have no complaints at all. The initial consultation was done by a very competent and personable young man who was a P.A., I believe. Then for the actual procedure, they gave clear, easy to follow instructions; everyone from the receptionist to the nurses, to the anesthesiologist was warm and friendly, and all seemed very competent and professional. Dr. Ferdows himself, who actually performed the procedure, was quiet and didn't interact much, but he asked me if I had any questions. I only had one, and he answered it well. My entire experience with Pacific Gastroenterology has been positive, and I would recommend them to a friend. read more

I had a colonoscopy done here about a year ago. After stumbling on the reviews (looking for other info) I am compelled to relate my experience. I have had a number of these procedures at another local, well known, clinic. My experience with Dr. Fedrows and his staff was much better. I found them helpful and thorough. The Dr even made me aware of potential issues that had not been related to me in previous procedures. One of the reasons I sought another provider was my thinking that the clinic I had been using was far too interested in the money. The experience here was much better and these folks care a lot about what they do. I highly recommend them. Went in for the prelim interview for colonoscopy. Was buzzed in by a very stand-offish receptionist and pointed to a tiny exam room with a repeating advertisement for medical procedures running on a TV screen. I waited in there for a good thirty minutes before the doctor came in, accompanied by an intern (I think? Hard to tell, as I was not really given detail as to what this person was there for, and they never made eye-contact and just took notes on a clipboard). The doctor manhandled me for a moment; that's fine, I know they have to look for hernias and whatnot, but he was pretty rough. He noticed on my chart, that I take Prilosec, and began a long interrogation into why I take it, and advised me over and over again that people who take such acid-reflux medication usually have undetected cancer, and tried very hard to up-sell me on additional procedures, none of which a person should have to agree-to spontaneously, and all of which I knew were unnecessary. I tried to explain that my acid-reflux was well-documented, under control, and pretty well understood, yet he continued to try to sell me. After that, he handed me a thick pamphlet on what constitutes a colonoscopy, watched me read it for a moment, advised the receptionist would set it up for me, and left. I admit, I had no idea the procedure would require a week of being sick, followed by sedation. I wasn't really prepared for that, so when I was standing at the receptionist counter, I was giving the matter a great deal of thought: my job is intensive, and a lot of change had just gone on, so I needed some time to juggle what week I could possibly sacrifice to this. The receptionist started taunting me to commit to a date, finally advising me to man-up and just do it. I am not some snowflake, but this is unacceptable. Embarrassed, I muttered out a date I thought might work, and I left, basically feeling completely humiliated. I went to Walgreens, paid $80 for the "medicine" meant to make me sick for a week, and went home, where my wife was shocked to hear what I had gone through. Over the next few weeks, I kept playing that last part over and over in my head, getting more angry until I finally called the office and told them I was not going to do the procedure anytime soon, and I didn't know when I would. Here's some advice: if you want somebody to follow through on a medical procedure designed to cram something up their backside, don't manhandle, then bulls@1t them, then emasculate them in the office. Anyway, later on I get a bill for $20, for a copay that I would gladly have paid at the time, if the receptionist hadn't been too busy calling me a wuss to bother asking for it. Unfortunately, there was no means of paying online (what century is this?), and they wanted me to mail them a credit card number. Not happening. My own fault that I forgot it for awhile, fine. Then I get a letter saying, pay it by two weeks from now, or we'll send it to collections. Next day, I get a message on my phone saying they've sent it to collections, so, so-much for two weeks. I stuck a Jackson in an envelope and mailed it to them. They'll probably claim they never got it, but whatever. Avoid this clown car. read more

I noticed some negative reviews that are quite different from the positive experience I had here. So, just to be clear, this review is for Pacific Gastroenterology at 8506 E Mill Plain Blvd, Ste B with Dr. Mehdi Ferdows, and his staff. My first visit to this clinic was in 2018 for a routine colonoscopy along with an endoscopy for acid reflux issues. Everything went well and my issues with swallowing were resolved for over 2 years. Earlier this month, I called the office to schedule a review with Dr Ferdows because of some recent difficulties with swallowing. The office scheduled a conference call with Dr Ferdows for the next day. Dr Ferdows suggested a couple of options and provided the pros and cons for each option. I decided to proceed with an esophageal dilation procedure which was scheduled for the following week. Everything went well and I experienced no symptoms after this procedure and just took it easy for the rest of day. Everyone at the clinic did an excellent job explaining how to prepare for the procedure, what to expect, and answering all my questions. The entire staff (office team, nurses, anesthesiologist, Dr Ferdows) provided a warm, friendly, and relaxing environment. If you are looking for a clinic with friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable health care professionals, I highly recommend Pacific Gastroenterology. read more

Arrived early (as instructed) to fill out paperwork, and no one was there as it was their lunch hour. Doctor came out with a mouthful of food and said "we're on lunch til 1, so....". Was taken back to the smallest exam room I've even been to, and definitely not the cleanest. There's a small TV screen with medical based videos to watch while you wait, so I got the feeling that I was going to be there awhile. I waited over 35 minutes for the doctor to come in, and when he did he proceeded to tell me information about an emergency patient that came in and what he did for her...(HIPAA?) I wasn't even able to get the full story of what's going on across to the doctor, as he kept talking over me and making assumptions. I felt like I was being interrogated. Instead of laying me on the table to do an exam, he asked me to lift my shirt while I was sitting and just poked at my stomach a bit. Then he told me he was going to order some tests which my primary had already ordered. When I asked what I can do in the mean time to not feel so miserable he said, "I don't know, what do you want me to do?" Prescription he said he'd write was never called in, and when I got a copy of my chart note, 90% of it was inaccurate. Needless to say, one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a doctors and will not be going back. Have heard from several other friends that have gone here with similar experiences, so felt the need to share. read more
