Medical Supplies were delivered on time and visiting skilled staff were scheduled accordingly in spite of their busy schedules. Shout out to Nurse John who my Mom trusted because of his knowledge and warm Care. I love it when Nurse John respected not just our mother, but our house as well. Nurse John takes off his shoes every time he comes and visits the house and this we appreciate, most especially me. Her last days were hard for our whole family, but your Staff made it so light and comforting for our whole family! Special mention too to Chaplain Sam(who also delivers supplies during his visit) and to all the nurses and ICC team. Thank you so Much from the bottom of our hearts

Unfortunately, our experience with the nursing staff and telephone support services was very disappointing. After our loved one passed away, we waited nearly three hours for a nurse to arrive and officially pronounce the death because only one nurse was available that day. When the nurse arrived, she did not check for a pulse or heartbeat. Instead, she simply pulled back the sheet, looked at our loved one, and stated the time of death. We felt this lacked the dignity and respect our loved one deserved, as well as the compassion our family needed during such a difficult moment. Since then, I have attempted to contact the company multiple times to discuss our concerns, but my calls have not been returned. In addition, we were left with several controlled medications and were not provided with instructions for their safe disposal. While we greatly appreciated the care provided by the social worker and CNA, our overall experience with VITAS did not meet our expectations for hospice care, and I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

I heavily researched hospices in the LA area before deciding on Silverado. They did not disappoint…read moreand were about as great as a hospice provider as I could ask for. My sister needed round-the-clock continuous care and they not only provided it, but worked hard against the bureaucracy and red tape of insurance to make sure that my sister had all the care and support she needed. I cannot believe how hard the staff worked to support my sister and my family during this trying time. They were professional, but more importantly, they treated us like fellow human beings. It was that feeling of love and support throughout the process that really made me glad I had chosen them. Carina (Karina? Sp?) was on the phone and texting me from day 1 to ensure everything went smoothly. It felt like she was working 10-12 hour days for the first 4 days - whenever I needed something or had a question, she got back to me within an hour or two when a lot of things were in motion and I needed that level of coordination. Daleth was the RN who visited my sister daily to check on her and she worked hard and thought creatively to ensure my sister's continuous care was uninterrupted by insurance's red tape. She was caring, thoughtful, empathetic, and excellent at her job. I felt so fortunate to have her as my sister's case manager. The staffing agency Silverado used to supply continuous care for my sister was also a godsend. I worried that the nurses sent would be semi-committed or ambivalent about their jobs but they care SO SO much. Isaac checked on my sister like she was his own relative and Maria did the same as well. I couldn't believe there were so many committed and caring staff on the same team, it was all I could hope for. Thank you again for caring for my sister. Your level of personal commitment and love is so appreciated by all of us.

"It is our mission to provide quality, reliable compassionate and affordable care to our clients."…read more None of this is true. When my father was hospitalized for a blood infection in December of last year, part of his release required at home care. A daunting task to say the least for any child of an elderly parent, especially around the holidays. It was relayed to the company that my father has bouts of confusion, a high risk of falling, issues with using the restroom/showering on his own, cooking meals, and driving.... Due to this, the cost was (in my opinion) extremely high.... But what choice did we have on such short notice? The company had a minimum hours per day of 6 and a minimum of 4 days per week at $37 an hour. Which is much more than we thought we needed. They required us to sign a 3 week contract. Short on time and options before his release, we signed the contract. The first day, they sent a care giver who had no car, and barely spoke English... when I got home from work, I was horrified to hear that my father had not eaten that day, did not receive his medication, and was unable to pick up his prescriptions from the pharmacy due to the care giver only having a bus pass as transportation... I called 1heart who said they would "send someone new tomorrow". They did not offer a reasonable apology, a refund/credit, or even a discount for that day... nothing. Just a "we'll send someone new tomorrow". The next day, they sent a new caregiver, who showed up on foot.... I was blown away. I spoke with the caregiver over the phone who stated that she only lived a mile away and chose to walk due to the company not communicating to her the need for my dad to have transportation. She actually was a very sweet lady and walked home to get her car to take my father to the pharmacy. Two hours later, I get a call from her stating that my dad had fallen at the local CVS. She was unaware of his fall risk due to the company not communicating my fathers care needs. She did not have his walker with them due to her car being a two seater... Again, I was extremely upset by this. All of this was explicitly communicated to 1heart before signing the contract. A week later, he was taken to the urgent care and given an x-ray that showed multiple broken ribs from the fall. What did 1heart offer for this when questioned? Not an apology (certainly not a discount), but a handwritten "incident report" on a lined sheet of paper from the care giver explaining the fall.... Zero concern or accountability. The bottom line is, 1heart does not provide quality, affordable, compassionate, or reliable anything... choose another company/agency.
