Some of the cookwares are good but some of them are way overpriced. I have a rice cooker with them. The warranty is a joke because they calim that the products are discountinued and they don't do repair work any more. It makes my expensive cook pot worthless. We've passed by this place quite often. Finally had a reason to go inside. Remodeling kitchen now so need a new stronger & more quiet range hood. This place, of course, carries only their own brand, Pacific. When you go in, there are a total of maybe 7-8 different models in the store. There are also misc cookware that you can purchase towards the back of the store. The sales lady asked if it was for our personal use or rental property. Since it was for personal use, she only showed us 2 models. I mean, she was pretty nice, but we wanted choices to select from. When we asked to see the others along the wall, she didn't want to show us and just says that it's cheaper models and not as suitable for personal use. Mostly for rental properties where you would replace more often. I can understand that, but since the cheapest of the 2 models she showed us was about $600, We still wanted to see all the options. But nope, she insisted for us not to even look at them. So, in a way, I felt like she was just pushing the 2 most expensive ones to us. We looked at other places after we left there and found the exact models she showed us. It costs less in other stores and we were told that those are older models and there are better newer ones. Why wouldn't their own retail stores carry or show us the newer models? read more

If you do a lot of asian cooking and need a heavy duty hood range (I mean something so strong that it would suck up a pot lid). Pacific Range has the perfect hood range for you! They carry the standard self cleaning range and their new steam cleaning one. The steam cleaning range costs a bit more and you have to use bottled or distilled water - not tap. I don't have water service and I don't want to go to the trouble of obtaining distilled water so we got the cheaper self cleaning range (water and 409 will do the trick). They don't upsell you. They let you make up your own mind. I also bought a Buffalo rice cooker. It has a stainless steel pot which is pretty heavy (not the cheap aluminum ones you find at the stores nor is it coated with teflon). They kicked in a set of knives, veggie cleaver and a hot water pot for free. It took about a month for my range to come in but once it did, they called me and let me know what time they would be at the house (between 10 - 12 PM on a Saturday). The guy actually came on 10 AM. He dismantled my old range and installed the new one without any problems. It took him about 30 minutes to do this. He also hauled the old one away for free. Minus one star for not cleaning up after himself after the installation. He had to drill a bigger hole in my cabinet that connects to the exhaust pipe because my previous range had a smaller hole. He left wood scraps from the drilling all over my stove and counters. That was a bear to clean! I'm happy with the range. It's strong enough that the fire alarm, that sits in my kitchen, doesn't scream every time I cook. read more

If you're looking for a no-nonsense range hood in a no-nonsense store, this is where you [and most Chinese families in the area] pick one up. Five glowing stars for good customer service and a good product. We were in and out of there in less than thirty minutes. Chuck [I never asked for his name, but that's the name on my sales invoice.] was super helpful. He was pretty quick about seeing what we needed. The showroom isn't huge, and he came over probably a minute or two after we had stepped inside. We knew which type we were picking out, but there were still a few to choose from. We were specific about the color/width of the hood, and since he didn't have the one we were considering on display, he brought one up from stock and opened up the box for us. There was a Lunar New Year promotion on the Pacific Brand auto-clean series, so we ended up with a $50 discount on the hood + a free induction cooktop. If you don't require delivery/installation, there's another discount. We were expecting to spend between $500-$700 for a really nice hood. We ended up going below that with all the promotions. SUH-WEET. And the price included tax and everything. You can easily buy a cheap one elsewhere [maybe 1/2 of the price for something significantly lower in quality], but I'm talking about a serious range hood here, folks. Best of all, you get way more than you would if you paid the same price elsewhere. The range hood we purchased is especially powerful with multiple settings that range from 150-750 CFM [cubic feet per minute] compared to what we saw elsewhere. I think for the same price at Home Depot, you get up to 400 CFM. The color we wanted isn't readily available at Home Depot, and I also haven't seen the auto-clean feature on the other range hoods. Additionally, their warranty [you don't pay extra] is on the following: Motor - LIFETIME, Parts [excluding the bulb] - 10 years, Labor - 1 to 5 years, depending on which hood you purchase. At Home Depot, I think it's for just one year. That they would back up their products with such a warranty says a lot. If you plan on some crazy cooking, I'd definitely recommend that you pick up a Pacific or Zephyr range hood. It'll keep your place from smelling like foods. read more

We didn't end up buying a range hood here only because their installation date was after we needed it, but I wanted to give a positive review for the excellent customer service we received here. We talked to a younger man (unfortunately, I don't know his name) who was very helpful. He was patient and informative without pushing products on us that were above our price range. Prices also include taxes, delivery, and installation, which is really convenient. FYI, they also sell rice cookers and other Asian cooking utensils here. Definitely an establishment frequented by Chinese families, but after doing some research Asian range hoods really are superior in power to those sold at places like Home Depot. read more

My Zephyr range hood needed repair. Zephyr referred me to Pacific Range Hoods and to Star Appliances. I called Star first. They have great Yelp reviews, but would have charged $60 to come out and give me an estimate. When I told them I didn't need an estimate since I knew exactly what was wrong and had the replacement parts on hand they quoted $140 including the (mandatory) estimate fee. Pacific quoted $60 total and they also had great Yelp reviews so I went with them and I'm glad I did. The only downside was that the first appointment I could get was 2 weeks away. But everything else was great. They called me 2 days before the appointment to remind me and make sure the time still worked with my schedule. Then the tech called 30 minutes before arriving to say he was on his way (well within the 3-hour appointment window). He was very conscientious, fixed the problem in about 40 minutes, and made sure I was happy with the work before leaving. I would definitely use them again. read more

My biggest mistake was spending over $350 on a Buffalo pan! It was heavy and hard to cook with and hard to clean. You can not pan fried anything with this pan because it will stick! Once you have food stick on the bottom of the pan.....good luck washing them. They need to be soak in the water for long time before washing! read more

This would guarantee it would be here the next day when we could come back with a truck. Fine - we did. Went back to pick up with a truck today and were told that unit was non hold for somebody else. No real apology / explanation of what they could do. I said I wanted a refund and was give it, again, with no effort to make things right. Pushy sales people, and wasted hours of my time. I took my kitchenpro scissors for them to fix (as it wouldn't bounce back after each use), and they were indifferent, told me they don't know how to fix it and no warranty, and one of the guys kept telling me it's only $29.00. It reminded me of Ron Popeil! Like any good Asian, my mom asked for a discount for a soybean drink maker machine ($149.99). The girl who helped us said discounts only apply to their Buffalo brand things. As she was ringing us up, she said she'd give us a $50 discount! I bought a buffalo smart cooker (BUFFALOSC12-IIW) in Oakland store on 5/9/2019. I paid $206.48 for it and I believe it will last long. I got error massages several time and it broke totally yesterday. I brought it back to the store this morning for a check. The associate told me that the top part of the cooker mechanical malfunction and can't fix it. He gave me two options. Either I buy a new outer pot for replacement @ $90 or I can buy their new cooker. I know for sure that I had this rice cooker for a year and two month and I use it for rice cooking only twice a week. It is the problem of the product and this company is not offering any help at all. The sales person dare to ask me to buy a new outer pot to replace it. How can I trust this company again! I had purchased range hood from this company for many years. I recently purchased a "TruSteam" range hood back on July of 2013. After we had the unit installed we just loved the unit with it's powerful extraction to ease of cleaning not to mention the LED light is very bright. Only until we started using the true steam clean funtion a few time is when we realize the problem with the unit. We cleaned and cleaned (twice a week per manufacture) using the true steam function but it seems nothing comes out to catch basin where it should had collected some type of moisture or grease. After a few months of cleaning we called to inform them the issue we were having with the cleaning function. We went through every detail making sure everything is working accordingly, sound hissing from the steam spraying onto fan area to making sure water level is adequate etc. I was told to give it time allowing moisture to build in order for some moisture to drain out since we are dealing with steam which produce very little moisture. After a few more months, with many refills, still nothing. You would think after so many refills to unit there should be some type of moisture coming out, but nothing! This time I carefully inspect what I could from my determination when removing the catch grease cup where the drain hose is leading to catch cup I notice the angle of the hose which should be slop down to catch basin cup is slopping upwards which means vapor/grease is back up in the hose or at the upper fan housing area. I call their office to informed them of problem and have a technician to come and inspect the defect. After the tech came and removed the cover to expose the fan housing and did the inspection is when we both saw where the problem is, just as I had suspected. The fan blower housing where it catches the vapor/grease drains out to hose then drains down to catch basin does not slop downwards as it should but it slops upward causing the backup in the hose and in the upper fan housing where is accumulating and can be a potential hazard for fire down the road. All the moisture is up in the fan blower housing area and in the hose. It's like your artery being clog up and soon the grease will plug up the hose and will lead to hazardous issues. The tech even said it's a flaw in this model's design. I had since call the company and spoken with Cecilia whom is very helpful and told me she will have another unit replace for me when they have a upgraded model to the true steam with some modification so that drain hose is higher then catch basin allowing for water/grease to drain down to catch basin. It's been almost six months and still waiting for the new redesign unit to arrive. The funny thing is every unit (TruSteam) is design the same way cause I took the liberty to go to their showroom and inspect their floor model. When you remove the catch basin you immediately notice how the drain hose is slopping upwards to catch basin. The catch basin is higher then the fan blower housing which causes this issue. I am curious if anyone out there whom had purchase this same unit (TruSteam) and experiencing the same issue? Please post here so that others will be aware of problem. Lou, from SF read more

Great product! I purchasing a AutoClean range hood from these guys and it's very reliable. The suction seem to be stronger at the demonstration. The reaon why I gave them a 3 is because of service. The service man seem very distant and distracted during the whole installation process. I have no doubt that he knows what he's doing but at the end of the installation he was expecting a tip from me. I was specifically advised by the salesman that installation was included. Needless to say that I did not provide him with a tip....would you tip when UPS delivers your package or when Home Depot delivers your fridge? Best store for woks in S.F! They sell rice cookers, woks, range hood fans, and appliances. Most of the kitchen cookware is the Buffalo brand which we like. This is a chain store with several locations around the Bay Area (and even down in L.A.), but the S.F. location worked well with us since its right off the 101 (near ATT Park) so convenient if you go into S.F. We drove all the way from Manteca for this store...yep, no wok stores in Manteca :P read more

Do not buy the auto clean range hood, it's a nice feature but the control and operation are very delicate and sensitive to frequent problems. I bought the AC-PRO30S model 3 years ago and have been having problems since then. The fan does not work as advertised, smoke and smell escaped the kitchen area easily. The auto clean function works sporadically even when instructions on the user manual are followed exactly. To make it worst, when I call for service, no one calls me back. Don't waste your money. read more

I ordered the Zephyr range hood here and had a great experience. I called the store and talked to Kieu about the range hood. She was fantastic in helping me to make sure that it can be mounted within the recommended mounting height and with duct. The delivery date was more two weeks. Kieu prepared the sales order and booked the delivery date for me before I decided to buy it, so that I could have the earliest delivery possible when I purchased it later. It was very thoughtful of her! They gifted a cleaver and a set of knives in the order. They called me two days before the delivery to remind me. On the day of delivery, Jeffrey called to let me know the estimated time he and Chong would arrive. They did a good job removing my old microwave oven and installing the range hood. Because the range hood is narrower than the old microwave oven, there was some unfinished area on the wall behind the stove. Jeffrey suggested to put a stainless steel backsplash to cover the area and I agreed. He had it in his car and installed it for me. It looks great and the range hood works very well! When asked about how much watts each rice cooker is she had no clue and proceded fliping over the ricecooker.
