We just moved back to SoCal and we're doing our due diligence in finding a new vet for Teddy Blaze. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff was helpful and thorough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Teddy was due for a wellness exam and vaccinations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dee and Aleks were very patient and playful with him.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dr.Humphrey was also great with him provided us with great plan of care and what items need to be addressed. We appreciate you all.

I brought my cat here for a wellness visit to establish care since I had just moved. Making an appointment was extremely easy via the website, and you pay the exam fee upfront as a deposit for your appointment. Everyone from the staff was so friendly and it was the best visit she's ever had. She's normally very scared and a little combative, but the staff did a great job of keeping her calm and comfy. I really appreciate everyone at Pacific Pet Hospital.

On behalf of my family and pup Bella, we would love to say a heartfelt " Thank You" to Dr. Humphrey, Office Manager Terry and all the office staff members at this location for all their compassion , dedication , outstanding care to my beloved pup Max. We are long time clients and we trust them with our pets . Everyone displays again compassion, dedication and professionalism. This facility is clean and so pet family friendly. Thank you for your great care with our Max's chronic health condition. Max will be truly missed. Again Thank you all for your great work on all your pet clients and Max & Bella. You guys are the best!

We've been using this vet for over a year! Between puppy visits, wellness visits, and even a sick visit. We've always been met with top quality care & answers. I highly recommend this whole staff & vet office!

I have been taking my 2 dogs Pepsi and Daisy since I moved to Chula Vista. Dr Humphrey is a great vet. The staff very friendly. They are healthy and happy pups.

The prices at this hospital are beyond inflated and outrageous. It's $40 or less, at any other vet in the area, for an ear cleaning. It's $91 here. The care is not spectacular enough to warrant this type of pricing or the "upselling" you'll inevitably deal with. It's also in a low income area, where people are struggling the most during these times. Just a heads up. UPDATE: the clinic's response to my review made it sound like the cost of the ear cleaning included cytology and antibiotics but just to be clear, I was charged $91 for a basic ear cleaning, plus $56 for cytology and $55 for the antibiotics.

During this most recent visit, we picked up a probiotic for our Aussie Shepard pup, got allergy shots for our mini-schnauzers and met with Dr Urbina to check our schnauzers tail that's been bothering her. Dr Urbina is well trained, knowledgeable and doesn't pressure us with options like other vets. Their vet techs (we love Breanna) are so caring and helpful too. Other procedures we've had done for our pups: dental cleanings, x-rays, biopsies, and when our schnauzer had pancreatitis (so scary!), we came here to have daytime water drip when we finished at the Emergency vet overnight. Parking- it's street parking but we always find a spot. It's nice to have all the grass because when our pups are nervous, we'll take them around the grassy area before the appointment. When we got to the appointment, the vet told us she wouldn't provide that because of her personal morals. I respect that veterinarians can have their own opinions, but it would have been really helpful if the clinic had told us that upfront before we booked and paid for the visit. Because of that, the appointment ended up feeling like a waste of time. Instead, the vet recommended several medications. We may consider that route eventually, but we were hoping to try a more holistic approach first and simply needed the clearance we had asked about ahead of time. To make matters worse, while we were waiting in the exam room there were two large fleas crawling around. Seeing fleas in the room at a veterinary clinic was pretty concerning. Overall, the lack of transparency beforehand and the cleanliness issues made this a frustrating experience.

I was put in an exam room, shortly after a tech came in to ask preliminary questions. She said Dr Kazumi would be in after a few minutes. At 1:30, I went to the front desk to find out the delay. No one came in to say there was an ongoing issue which delayed the Dr. She came in at 1:40 and said there was a procedure which took longer than expected. No apology for the delay. She then did a 5 min exam which consisted of telling me what vaccines were coming up. No physical check of the eyes, ears, teeth, abdomen, joints etc. My pup has gained 10 pounds since she saw her 1 year ago, no questions about her diet or what could be recommended. For this I had to pay $74 for a "non" examination. I received no response when I questioned what was included in an examination. I'm afraid the office is turning into an assembly line much like the corporate owned vet clinics. I couldn't wait for the staff to give me my Rabies certificate but was told they would email me the paperwork. 2 hours later I returned to pick up the paperwork because it was never sent. I have 3 dogs registered with this facility and know it's going to be awkward when I have to return in a month for their follow up exams/vaccines. In the past the service has never been this disjointed. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I'm wondering if their growth is at the expense of the service I was use to receiving.

He always tried to provide cheaper alternatives. When Doctor Rhodes took over, he was just ok and prices went up a bit. It was to be expected and I didn't want to search for another vet. Now there is a newer provider who wants to charge even more and perform unnecessary tests. For example, I called to renew my dog's heartworm meds. I was told that I had to bring her in, pay for an exam, and get a heartworm test. I explained that she just had the bloodwork 6 months ago! "Oh, there's a new provider so they have to do and entirely new exam with blood." Do they not share medical records like any other dog or human doctor? This was the icing on the cake. Such a stupid request to loose a long term customer. I took my dogs to Rolling Hills Hospital and guess what, they don't need to do bloodwork because they could see on her records that she just had the blood test. What a novel thought. Cost Savings Tip: For those of you who never had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Sevier, he gave this advice. Once your dog turns 10, don't bother with vaccinations other than those that are required. ** AMAZING - AMAZING - AMAZING **…read more I've been coming to this pet hospital ever since 1996. I've had a few doggies over the years..... It's been about 10 yrs since I've needed to visit an actual veterinarian office. Today was the day I needed to break that record.... My girl Luna gave me a fright. Home remedies weren't helping and I knew she needed to be seen. I called the pet hospital first thing in the morning to explain my concerns and to see if she could be seen. The doctor was completely booked. However, the receptionist offered to leave a message for the doctor to see if he could work us in..... We received a call shortly after to say that the doctor would be able to see us. YAY!! I was so very grateful & relieved.... Since it had been a few years since I've visited, I made sure to arrive early to re-register myself and Luna as a new patient. The front office was very friendly and welcoming. We were taken back right away and the vet tech Vianca was very helpful and kind with my nervous puppers. Dr. Jasdeep Dhaliwal examined Luna. He was absolutely amazing. So kind and patient. He saw that she was nervous to be there and sat on the floor with her..... I was blown away!! You could really tell that he loves taking care of animals. He's most definitely a special kind of person. Our visit was an amazing experience. Everyone provided EXCEPTIONAL service. Everything was straight forward and honest. No one is trying to oversell you things. This pet hospital is a true gem in National City. I am so very grateful that they worked us in and provided such a memorable experience. She is now 4 years old, and up until this experience, we've always received excellent care and customer service. Recently, I ordered medication for my dog and stopped by to pick it up before closing. According to the website, the clinic closes at 6:00 p.m. I arrived around 5:25 p.m. and was told they were already closed. After getting back in my car, I double-checked the website, confirmed the posted closing time was 6:00 p.m., and called the office. During the call, I was told that because there were no doctors on-site, they typically close the register at 5:30 p.m. At that moment, it was only 5:28 p.m. I pointed that out, and the response was that the register had already been closed. My concern isn't that the register normally closes at 5:30. My concern is that if customers are told you serve them until 5:30, then you should continue serving customers until 5:30--not close the register early. If your actual operating hours are different when no doctor is present, that information should be communicated clearly so customers don't make unnecessary trips. I want to emphasize that this one experience doesn't erase the great care my grand pup has received over the years, and I will continue bringing my pets here because the veterinary team has always been wonderful. I simply hope management will use this as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of consistent customer service and honoring the posted business hours. Sometimes a small interaction can leave a lasting impression.
