Everything went well! Very comforting to my pet and super fast! But also very thorough !!!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't have a problem with the vet, I have a problem with a staff member, one of the nurses who manhandled my cat so badly that she was so traumatized and pooped all over herself and her pet carrier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They never said one thing about what happened inside the office since they didn't allow me inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But my cat was smelling so bad when they handed her back to me. I thought it was because of some nasty gloves they used on my cat. Nope, my cat was so scared that she pooped herself and they didn't even give me the decency to tell me what happened. My cat is not an aggressive cat and has never acted out before, but I understand that vet visits can be stressful. However, RIGHT after this visit, my cat also developed an infection in her ear, so I had to take her to a different vet where they told me extreme stress can cause that. I don't know what they did to my cat but I will never take my pets here ever again. read more

Finding a good Animal hospital is like trying to find n honest Auto mechanic. Our cat is older and does not like anyone. We were very nervous bringing her here. You see those crazy videos on YouTube with cats going crazy and biting and scratching at the doctors. We have taken our cat to the emergency hospital a while back from a cat attack and her leg got infected from the wound. No one was able to see our cat on short notice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After completing a form I needed to email/ text my cat's previous record. While waiting in reception area for Niko, I thought of additional questions and the receptionist went and got the "cat lady" from the back to chat with me. Absolutely uh-mazing! I will definitely return! One star was taken away because the facility could use some updating and some painting inside. However the reception area and exam room were clean. I have been going to Pacific Pet Hospital for a few years and Im finally fed up with their high prices and unnecessary procedures. I took my dog in today 10/15/25 for chronic ear infection. Im there every other month with the same problem! This time I asked for ear drops to help keep my pups ear infection from returning so quickly. The doctor refused to prescribe ear drops unless I agreed to a cyntology test first which doubled in price since my last visit two months ago! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told him I could not afford all the costs they were adding to this visit and I opted out of what was unnecessary due to financial hardship and he refused to give me drops![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I became so upset I stared to cry and plead with him to please just give me the ear drops but he stood his ground and said no![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt so sick and humiliated to have had to cry and pleaded for my dog to get ear drops to relieve the pain she was in! She had inflamed infected ears and he didnt give a hoot! No compassion for my suffering pup! It was all about making money and charging high fees! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I left there literally crying and pleading and they didnt care even the receptionist chimed in as to how they can't give drops without the overpriced cyntology test![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do that test EVERYTIME I take my dog in and its always the same! Everytime!!!! It's a chronic issue and they give my dog a bogus one time treatment which I never get to see them administer because they do it in a back office and it only relieves the inflammation for 2-4 weeks then it happens all over again and the staff know my dog will get the infection again and again because this is a chronic condition she was born with! All i wanted was the drops which work wonders! Just because they act nice sometimes doesn't mean anything when they won't give you the right treatment. Their prices are through the roof they are ripping us off! No more! They get away with highway robbery because we, owners, allow them to get away with it, because we love our pets so much! They wanted to charge me $586 for treating my pups ear infection! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I REFUSED & left there in tears and got no treatment for my pup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I found a different vet later that day who was honest, compassionate, and treated my pups ear infection for a total of $199 (EVERTHING INCLUDED even the Cyntology test!) The prices at this hospital are beyond inflated and outrageous. It's $40 or less, at any other vet in the area, for an ear cleaning. It's $91 here. The care is not spectacular enough to warrant this type of pricing or the "upselling" you'll inevitably deal with. It's also in a low income area, where people are struggling the most during these times. Just a heads up. UPDATE: the clinic's response to my review made it sound like the cost of the ear cleaning included cytology and antibiotics but just to be clear, I was charged $91 for a basic ear cleaning, plus $56 for cytology and $55 for the antibiotics. read more

After the lackluster attention our rescue chihuahua mix received from a pricy Eastlake vet center, a vet tech there recommended Pacific Pet (where they bring their dogs). It was easy to get an appointment at PP, and as a new patient Whiskey's initial wellness exam was only $38. The front desk staff were unhurried, friendly and helpful. The vet nurse was professional and warm. She took time to get to know us and to hear all my concerns. Dr. Humphrey then examined Whiskey. He also took time to respond to all my questions and provided helpful info and insights. I was waiting on an appointment for the vet I want my new dog to be seen by, but I felt my dog needed an appointment right away. Luckily I was just stressing for no reason. However, I wasn't impressed with this place. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because the tech was absolutely amazing! The front desk was so- so, but the vet himself didn't make me feel like it was the place to bring my dog back full time. Which is a shame, because I appreciated being able to come in and being seen at such short notice. I was actually considering canceling the other appointment I had further out with the different vet had this appointment gone well. The thing that made me upset with the vet was the prescription of unnecessary meds. After several tests that were explained to me as negative by the nurse, antibiotics were prescribed just in case. I'm not an expert but I know that if you don't need it you shouldn't take it- when it comes to antibiotics. I gave this 3stars because in the end, my puppy was seen and she was treated well. Which in the end that's what really matters. I'm a very impresionable person, and I always go by what my gut tells me. It told me that that place was not for me. It could have been an off day for everyone all around but it's over and done. You decide what to do with that information. read more

I had an overwhelmingly positive experience (Feb/March timeframe) with everyone from the office staff, vet techs, and veterinarians. The office was still working under COVID protocols so I had to wait outside in my car while the vet tech/office staff took my dog inside. I had brought my GSD for an issue with him biting/licking all of his paws. The vet (Dr. Humphrey) called me on the phone and went over options on how to diagnosis my dog's issue. When the results came back (yeast infection in all four paws), he gave me options on how to treat the issue. At no time was he pressuring me to do one treatment over another. Once I decided what to do, he transferred me to the vet techs and office staff for payment options. It was a pricey visit, but the front staff explained all the items that were being charged. Anytime I had a question they were able to answer it. Overall, it was an easy visit. I'll definitely bring my pet back here again. read more

Doctor Upton is a fabulous veterinarian and the only doctor we let do surgery on our animal family members. I honestly never met such a gentle caring man. I gave his new partner a bad review sometime ago because well I don't like his work. Doctor Upton is getting on in years and no longer does surgery as far as know. But in his 'prime' he was excellent! The office staff has always been kind and helpful. I wish he had chose a better partner for his golden years. I wrote this review because as my straight forward review for DoctorHenderson ( I believe that is his name) was not fair to the man that cared so well for our brood over the years Doctor Upton. I wish he could remain young forever. So my review today is based solely on the doctor I knew. I can not recommend his partner so I give Doc Upton four stars. 5 if he changes partners. read more

We were blessed with 13-wonderful years with our beloved Beagle Riley. Pacific pet Hospital was there every step of the way. From the first time she entered our lives 13-years ago and had her first check up. Had her spade, and even when she had minor aches and pains. PPH had seen our furbaby through. This last 2/5/19 we lost our baby. It was heartbreaking! PPH went above and beyond. Allowing us to grieve and say goodbye privately. I took my dog in at the suggestion of a friend. He had three seizures the night before. My usual vet was a few blocks away and two others were in walking distance. After some "bad" experiences, I no longer trusted them wtih him. So a chat with Miss Terry-I felt safe. (I knew his life was nearing the end). They examined him and Dr. Beneli advised me, (He was NOT out to make money off me or come up with all these things he felt "might" be wrong), they offered a blood test and medication to take home. My little one took a turn for the worse at the office and I knew I had to let him go. Enough said about how they conferred and worked things out and about a half hour later I said goodbye. I felt completely safe with these people. I can't explain how, after over 40 years of having pets, THIS place showed me a level of dignity and compassion you don't get with other places. If you want to TRUST someone with your companion, no frills involved, Pacific is the place. If I ever get another pet, his/her healthcare will faithfully be given over to Pacific Pet. They were phenominal. Thank you all for the care and concern you gave me as I said goodbye to my baby of over 16 years. Thanks for the dignity. I called the office last week because my dog had an open wound on his paw. He has been here once before and we had a great experience so I really wanted to take him here. They didn't have any appointments available but they gave me the option to do a drop off so he could just hang out and the vet would see him as soon as he could. My dog is super social and does well with that kind of situation so I dropped him off at 9am and he was seen by 11:30. The vet called me after he saw him and explained everything including cost breakdown so there were no surprises later. He had a foxtail in his paw and they needed to sedate him to remove it. They were able to do it the same day even though I know they were already busy (there were a lot of people there when I dropped him off). The vet called again after the foxtail had been removed to let me know how it went and when I could pick my dog up. I felt like the prices were reasonable, though not cheap, and I felt like my dog was well cared for. As I was leaving I asked for tips on getting my dog to take the antibiotics he needed to take and the vet tech (I assume) had several good ideas. Giving my dog meds has always been hard! He will eat the cheese or peanut butter around the pill and spit the pill out and he doesn't like treats so a pill pocket wouldn't work. She suggested stuffing it in a hot dog and that worked really well! I just appreciated that she took the time to problem solve with me even though I was picking up at closing time. The following day I received a notice from our insurance company stating they needed medical records to approve our claim. When I called the office they had already sent the records to the insurance company! I called within an hour of getting the email notification. I couldn't believe the office staff had already handled it and I was so grateful! The procedure wasn't cheap and getting the reimbursement from the insurance company is important to me. Office staff did a fantastic job and I'm grateful for their efficiency! I will absolutely take my dog here again! He's fully healed and recovery was very easy. He got great care, the staff was friendly and took time to explain what was going on. The vet communicated really well and was very nice and thorough. read more

Grateful for this hospital. Don't live close but def wish we did. Fell into this place due to an emergency and our pup couldn't be seen at our vet office. Called to see if the office could see our 9week old pup who had been vomiting, barley drinking water, and napping a lot in 12 hours. Called 10am on a Friday, told them our situation, and they informed us they could see him that day. We made an appt at 3pm, the receptionist wanted us to get in before the after hours er kicked in and it be more expensive. Was very thankful bc we know how expensive after hours emergency vet visits are. (Very thankful for that receptionist) we arrived (due to the pandemic didn't actually see the inside) the vet tech came out, took our information, she was extremely pleasant, friendly, listened, and asked questions. About 20mins later the Dr called us, asked questions, gave us the plan, and took care of our pup. This office was very informative, communicated extremely well, and we were just over all pleased with our visit. The Dr. even sent us the X-rays just Incase his symptoms increased. I only went here because it was close by. Unfortunately, their prices are ridiculously high and their practices are unethical. After my dog's exam, the staff gave me the receipt with the list of prescriptions and expected me to pay up front without explaining them. They tried making me buy flea treatment for $80 when my dog doesn't even have fleas. But, I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't explicitly asked her "What is this medication for?" If I hadn't asked, they would've had me blindly pay for it without telling me what it was. This was a red flag. So naturally I had to look up all the medications they "prescribed" my dog to make sure that they were actually what they claimed to be. Turns out they also tried charging me almost $100 for a product with a $15 retail price. I understand businesses need to profit but upcharging this much, along with making unsuspecting people pay for unnecessary prescriptions, is unethical. I've been to many different vets since I've moved around a lot, and this the worst (and most expensive) one. This is the first time I've experienced dishonesty and distrust from a veterinarian. My friends also stopped going here because they had a negative experience. I recommend going somewhere else that isn't money hungry and actually has you and your dog's best interest in mind. read more

I have been trying to find a new vet. This place had great reviews. We did have to wait a bit to been seen although we had a schedule appointment. This i do not mind at all. The place is nice, clean and welcoming. Both nurse and vet spent time trying to comfort and reassure my 1year old pup who was visibly scared and anxious. They did not rush us or my pup. They provided him with treats and a lickmat to help calm him and build trust. I brought my own treats to reward my pup while waiting outside the vet office, in waiting room and in exam room. It made me really happy to see that they care about my pups feelings. They exam him while listening to everything i had to say. They made comments on everything i was concerned about. They notified me on a vaccine that my pup had not received from our previous vet. They were able to give it to him and we have a booster appt in a few weeks. The only negative thing I would have to say about this place was that i felt like the vet was trying to sell me on items we dont need. Other than that I really enjoyed this place. read more

Called early this morning to get my pup checked out cause she had been having a bad stomach all night. Everywhere you call right now is having issues with appointments due to staffing shortages and backups with COVID. I was lucky enough to call at 8:40 and they had a 9:00 cancellation so I ran over. They took my pup in within 10 minutes, ran tests, diagnosed her issue, and gave me her medicine all within an hour. We have been coming hear for a few years now. We have two cats about four years apart in age. We are extremely satisfied with the service. I wish there hours were a little better. I've tried to come a few times and they were closed or there was no doctor. This last time we went we brought our oldest cat (his 6) in for some dental work, he had really bad breath and red gums. Both Dr. Humphrey and the nurse took the time to explain our options and to explain why the work was needed and what could happen if the work was done at a latter time. We felt confident that we got the information we needed even a drawing by Dr. Humphrey explaining what was wrong with our cats teeth. We decided to get his two tweet removed, a deep cleaning, and all his shots he was due for. The nurse took the time to explain the quote sheet with the cost break down. So that we knew what the total cost was going to be at the end. We removed a couple unnecessary items and were given a new qoute. Our cat had to stay there all day and my husband picked up around 5:30. He got instructions concerning after care and with the medications for pain and antibiotics.
