Big fan of this brokerage: they're super-knowledgeable, know LA metro backwards and forwards and are extremely professional. I've worked with more than a few in the past and they've been hit or miss, but Pacific Playa is the right mix of strategic and aggressive for me. This recent purchase with them is the smoothest I've had to go through and was virtually on autopilot. I work extremely long hours and (when not in a pandemic) have to travel frequently. On a regular basis, when there was a deliverable or meeting at the property that I couldn't attend, my broker--Ms. Teresa Mack--would go there without me and either vidcon me or record what I wasn't able to see personally. She'd flag concerns she had and provided solutions when they came up. I never felt pushed or rushed, but she laid out the facts, told me what she recommended and then let me decide. Unlike "Kiara P." Ms. Mack never gave me the impression that she thought she "was superior" or "above me." On the second point, I'm taller than her (even in heels!), so she'd need a ladder; on the first point, as someone who is arrogant himself, I did not detect that in her at all. Perhaps I am confident in my own abilities and someone who isn't might be more sensitive to imagined negative reinforcement regarding their own. Oops, that's my arrogance: my bad (see, I told you: she doesn't do that!)! :D We haven't gone through a transaction yet where I REALLY lowball the seller (that's going to happen sooner vs later, lol: and I will 100% play chicken if I feel I need to), but on the ones so far, they've been spectacular. I contacted the broker of record for this Keller Williams - Makeba to complain about one of their agents, Kory Jackson. Kory Jackson had represented my wife and I on buying our home and not only did an awful job that almost lost my wife and I the deal and $10,000 in developer incentives, but when I brought our opinions to his attention, he said some very unprofessional things to me back in email. I first called Makeba, who asked me to forward her a copy of the email dialogue with Kory, along with my contact information. After sending her the email - she didn't even bother to respond back, call, or apologize on behalf of her agent, or even to acknowledge the situation at all. Now granted, there is probably nothing Makeba could have done considering the sale was already done and I had no fraud case, but as the broker of record and therefore the defacto owner, she should have at the very least acknowledged my complaint and apologized on behalf of one of her employees / affiliated agents. If this is the way the broker of record handles things, and considering my past with one of her agents, I would avoid this Keller Williams at all costs. read more

Kory Jackson is as good as it gets! I've gone through two real estate transactions with him and am strategizing the third with him. If Kory does not have the answers to your question, he will get it. He navigated me through two very complicated escrows and negotiated even things that I had not seen that were in my best interest. My property was marketed and sold for top dollar. He did practically no work and the little that he did had so many mistakes in it that I lost count, including one that would have made the deal fall through if I hadn't caught it. Seems like a nice guy but he's hands down the worst real estate agent I have ever worked with, and I have seen some bad ones. I'm still in shock over how bad he was.
