I recently saw a home in the MLS Rancho Park advertised by Stephanie Younger that described the house as having 3 bedrooms. The architectural drawing in the MLS showed 1 bedroom with a closet,an office, and another bedroom without a closet at all. The remodeling was unpermitted including electrical and plumbing so I called their office to get them to correct the listing but she preferred to lie to buyers and laughed about my concerns.A truly corrupt realty group.I advise buyers and sellers to look elsewhere for ethical realtors. read more

My husband and I live in San Jose and decided to buy a property, on a pretty quick timeline, for our two young adult children near where our son currently lives in Playa del Rey. Stephanie Younger (Compass) listed a property on THIER website which they did not represent in hopes of being the buying agent. However, when I called they said it was too far away for them to even do that. They also publicly displayed information about the property history on the website, but refused to confirm if any of the information THEY put out to the public was truthful or accurate. In essence, they take NO responsibility of THEIR actions, and the moment they knew they couldn't make money, they became very rude, talking over me, and ultimately hanging up. They were unwilling to help in any way (even to explain the buying / selling process) and IMHO this type of business practice is both unethical and unprofessional. Others should know they advertise for properties they don't represent to drive you to their site, only to hang up on you and treat you like garbage if you call. Certainly, that was my experience. read more

If you want someone who can lie at your face and are good at it, then these are the best people to work with. I was selling a property and this agent named Kara approached us as buyer's agent. She said her buyer is super interested in making this condo their primary home. We negotiated the price and the deals terms and conditions and then opened the escrow. Soon after the escrow was opened, she started telling lies. After looking at the HOA docs, she asked about rental restrictions. This was shocking already as they mentioned that they want this for primary residence. We explained the rental restrictions clearly. Then she came back to us asking if you can get the condo unit to be approved so it can be rented out, then we can move forward. I as seller made extra efforts to cater to their requirements. I made numerous phone calls to the management company and the board of directors to get the unit approved as rental. I was even ready to fly to attend the HOA meeting to do it for them. But I am glad I didn't fly there. Because eventually I learnt that it was all lie. Finally, I got the permission from HOA to get the unit counted as rental. And I gave them the good news. And at that time, she sent me the cancellation form dated from last week. I was shocked. If you had made up your mind to cancel the deal already, why waited for HOA's decision to be counted it as rental? Basically, she was looking for an excuse to cancel the deal. She already had the cancellation form signed but never mentioned it because she wanted to blame the seller for not making efforts with the HOA. But as a seller when I didn't give them any excuse, she had no reason to cancel the deal. The whole time she kept us busy so we keep fooling around. Now here is another tactic that they play: Now since she wanted to get out of the escrow, she is sending "other prospective buyers" our way. I know this is again a big lie so we cancel the old escrow soon and move with their new fake buyer. She didn't even want to talk and discuss the whole thing because she can't do it with a straight face. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS. read more

Before we even went to our first showing, we had an introductory Zoom meeting where she walked through the entire home-buying process with helpful case studies. Equipped with our newfound knowledge and Jill by our side, we were more than ready to tackle the seller's market. She provided a first draft of our personal letter, which made us really shine on paper. In fact, the first home we put an offer down with her was accepted! There was a lot of negotiation with the sellers, but together, we never backed down and now we live in our dream starter home. She was even able to negotiate significant credits for us in this market! Throughout the entire process, Jill was extremely responsive, answering our questions quickly and thoroughly, which made us feel as though we were her only focus and most important clients. We asked a plethora of questions that would annoy the average realtor, but she never seemed fazed and was always enthusiastic. She was able to show every house we were interested in, since she would never give up in the face of an unresponsive seller (Sellers' agents beware - Jill will fight for her clients!). Prior to each visit, she always provided comps and sales data without us asking and gave useful insight on the neighborhood, allowing us to walk into each showing prepared. Buying a home, especially a first home, is a very stressful process, but Jill made it seem like a breeze with her meticulous attention to detail and positive attitude. The only downside of working with her was having to say goodbye after she handed us our keys. We miss her already! Anyone would be silly to not choose Jill as their agent! Andrew Mason was perfect. When we stepped into the process, we weren't sure if buying a home was right for us at this time. Andrew was understanding, patient, and respectful of our mindset. We were on the other side of a transaction from Stephanie's team a year ago. We ended up pulling out - and here's why: MLS photos had been photoshopped for the property we were in contract on, adding in flames into a defective fire place. We were visiting the house during a subsequent open house, and one of her team members was talking to the backup buyer about "getting us out" of our contract. Stephanie showed up, and had no clue who we were, even though we introduced ourselves. Unimpressed. When we put in a counter based on the inspection problems, the starting position from Team Stephanie, was not to give at all. This left such a poor taste in our mouths, that we looked elsewhere - having been told that "she's very influential around here, and you shouldn't get on her bad side".
