The battery in my computer wasn't holding a charge, so I was trying everything on the internet to find out what was going on. I finally figured out that the battery had gone bad and called HP to order a replacement battery. They told me just to order a new computer. A few days later, my browsers got extremely slow, as in one click would take 5 minutes literally to move from one page to the next. Again, went to find out how to speed things up, like turning off start up apps that I don't use and the like. No changes. I called Pacific Protech since they were in walking distance from where I live (no car) and they were able to take me the next day. They got information from me and were non-judgmental about my lack of computer knowledge. I worked with Melissa, who explained everything step by step and assured me that I had done everything correctly. She ended up diagnosing that my hard drive had gone bad and recommended a replacement with a SSD. She also offered to try and clone my drive so I didn't lose my data or my bookmarks. Unfortunately, I lost office since the hard drive crashed, but that wasn't as precious as the computer working or the data. When I went in to get the computer, she sat with me and helped me get my bookmarks set up and synced again. What I paid in terms of the new hard drive and the labor was way lower than I expected. She also offered to help me find a replacement battery. I was happy to hear that I didn't need to buy a whole new computer! I would recommend these guys for anyone, whether you are a sole proprietor or a business. They are professional, thorough and very understanding. While I hope that I never have to use their services again due to a computer problem, I will definitely go to them if I need to in the future! read more

Very helpful and friendly. I called them (they always answer) and asked for help diagnosing my dead laptop. They took it that day. It took a couple weeks, but they gave me an idea of what was needed and I decided to not to move forward with any repairs. The diagnosis was free. The first time I went a couple of years ago they were great! Today though tried to take in a laptop to repair. Got told to wait outside in the sidewalk in the hot sun until they were finished with another customer. After standing for almost 10 minutes we left. OMG This is the fastest, most professional, and the most affordable computer repair company that I have ever come across. My computer crashed on Friday, March 13th and my corporate taxes were due on March 15th. YIKES!!! I found this company on yelp and because of their great reviews and 8:30am opening time I decided to try them out. I am so happy I did. I told them my predicament and asked if they could please put a rush on it. Believe or not they did put a rush on it and fixed my computer by the afternoon. We're in Hilo on vacation and my wife's computer suddenly stops working. We take it to one computer repair place and they quote us a minimum of $150 to fix it. We decide to take the computer to another repair place to get a second opinion. Luckily we chose Pacific Pro-Tech Services where we met Brian, their technical person.
