After paying the $2,500 assessment fee Darryl recommended two tax strategies, both of which raised significant concerns: 1) GFX Trading - a complex Series LLC foreign currency structure. This strategy was presented as a way to generate large tax deductions through foreign currency trading. When I asked for written explanations of how the strategy worked, what the economic substance was, and how it would hold up under IRS scrutiny, the answers were incomplete and at times inaccurate. When I declined to proceed, he called me immediately, insisting "everyone is doing this," and became defensive. I later understood that his affiliated company receives commissions from this arrangement, which was not disclosed before he recommended it. 2) DNA Harmony - involving the purchase of gift certificates for Jazz Band Splash red-light therapy. This was presented as a deductible expense through a separate Series LLC structure. Again, I requested information in writing about the IRS basis for deducting these types of purchases, but the responses did not address compliance, valuation, or audit exposure. When I decided not to move forward with either strategy based on the lack of clear documentation and concerns about risk, I requested a refund of my $2,500 fee. The request was denied. My experience did not meet the level of professionalism I expect from a tax advisor. I would not return nor recommend Darryl Hale and will be filing a complaint with the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility and notifying the California Franchise Tax Board.

Additionally, the website was reworked, but multiple features as well as my entire order history have vanished from the site. Finally, the wait times have also dramatically increased due to multiple mishaps on their end with the provided artwork for products. If you don't want your artwork being affected or altered by AI, and you don't want to wait weeks for a job that other print shops can get done in 24 hours, I would search for a new print shop.

I felt that my concerns and objectives were not a priority, and instead I came away with the impression that the focus was on billing rather than achieving the best outcome for my case. Communication was a significant issue. Important emails were, in my view, overlooked, many of my questions went unanswered, and I often felt left in the dark throughout the process. I also believe I was misled on multiple occasions, and I have raised my concerns with the California State Bar. Ultimately, I felt pressured into ending the attorney-client relationship after being told they would otherwise withdraw from my case, which I believed would have increased my legal costs. That experience was incredibly stressful. I also agree with other reviewers who have said that Shannon appeared to be the more knowledgeable attorney, while I found Alex to be disorganized and ineffective during my court proceedings. If you're looking for attorneys who will listen to your goals, communicate consistently, and make you feel like a valued client, this was not my experience. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and that I had not received the level of professionalism or advocacy I expected. Remember that your attorney works for you.
