Nice experience! Open on Saturdays!!!!! I work M-F 8am to 4:30pm and just do not have time to get a smog check during weekday business hours. Luckily Pacific Smog is open on Saturdays. I took a random chance on a Saturday afternoon to go there and there were no cars in front of me. It took about 20 minutes. The guy was nice, personable, and offered the waiting area for me to relax in while he did the smog check. He did say that Saturday mornings are usually extremely busy but afternoons are a little more calmer. $65.00 on May 9th 2026. read more

I went to get my truck smogged even after reading most of the reviews both good and bad. I dealt with the young man working there. He seemed to be an honest technician. I heard him talking to another customer giving him advice on a self installation the customer performed. He stated that the customer figure out why the sensors weren't working properly or he could take the $70 and run the test knowing it was gonna fail. In my opinion, he did the right thing. Abdul was the one who performed the smog check on my car in a timely matter. Only charges for $65 if it's a passed smog check. He is very genuine and nice technician. I definitely recommend to get your smog check by him. 10/10 service. I was there under an hour and it's straight forward. What a great experience right after an awful one. I needed a smog test done one day before its due date. I was confident because my '97 BMW 540i always passes. My regular place had closed down so I went to another shop which turned out to be dishonest. (The Smog Shop on Main had listed $450 in unneeded services and was looking to run it up to $600). I got out of there fast and found this place. Sammy took good care of my car for $71 with the total ease of an experienced expert that he is and I thanked him for his honesty. He pointed to the row of awards on his counter which made perfect sense because Sammy's an expert at customer service too. I recommend him highly. read more

I went for a smog check, which was first come, first serve. It was quick and to-the-point, so no complaints.

6 years later, and this is still the only place I'll take my car! Everyone needs to protect this business and this man. The owner is a one man show. He does everything himself, and aside from being a hard workers and very knowledgeable, he's quite the entertainer. You will not be bored here while you wait. I like watching the way he interacts with other customers as they're coming in. He always has something funny/quirky to say. I've noticed he's especially loved in the Latino community. He tries very hard to speak Spanish, and he's gotten better at it! I've also seen him do a few acts of kindness. He's definitely not greedy, and I get the hunch that he's in this business with a good heart, because he loves it, and to genuinely help others. My mother recommended me here 6 years ago, she also only comes here for all her vehicles smog checks. I appreciate that he makes her feel welcome and comfortable, as a senior 60+ woman that does not speak English very well because she gets nervous, she does not always have positive experiences (from getting attitude, to judgements, or getting ripped off $). This is the kind of place you want your mothers/fathers, grandparents, and everyone you care about to go to. No appointments taken, I assume because a lot of people flake. Just drive on in and wait your turn. It does not take long at all anyways, and he's great to be around and easy to converse with. My vehicle was in the shop to get a smog done but the computer was not ready due to a battery swap. I paid 71 dollars for test and certificate. However I had to bring it back after driving it for a little while longer. I had to pay him again for the same test and the certificate. I showed him my receipt and even then he said it was a new test. I have never paid twice for a smog when it fail or system was not ready. I am never going with him again and I would recommend for you to look somewhere else. Specifically if your vehicle is not going to pass or if you did any mechanical work and the system isn't ready. That's it. I waited for more than 15 minutes after your shop was supposed to have opened... Your response to me is inexcusably aggressive and doesn't address the issue -- that your business was not opened on time and that I left because it was still not opened after waiting more than 15 minutes. And since we're at it, one more thing. Sammy refused to allow me to pay with a credit card. The bill for an oil change was $55. He asked me how much cash I had. I said "I only have $40." Sammy says "Ok give me 40 cash and I'll put the rest on credit card." I said "I just want to use my card" and Sammy replied "No, I can only put $15 on credit card, the rest must be cash." FRIENDLY AND ETHICAL!!! Came here after getting ripped off at the Main St Shell. I asked him what he would do if my Check Engine light was on. He said "I won't smog check it. He is very honest and will let you know if he can or cant do something.
