I had my daughter's 2000 Chevy Tahoe and was returning home from a local tire shop. Seeing that Adrian still had a customer in the bay and that it was past 5 PM, I figured I would ask him for a quote for a SMOG on the Tahoe. Adrian finished with this customer and gave me an estimate. Not only that, but he also said he could do the SMOG check now (past 5 PM!) as the current customer was leaving! The service was good and they did the job quickly. However, when I went to pay they had already said the price quoted was cash. So I brought cash and went to pay and they said exact change only. I was shocked and said are you kidding. They said I could walk to the grocery store and get change. So, I dug through my wallet and came up with $1 short of exact change. They said they wouldn't accept that and told me again to walk to the grocery store and get change. Then they said I could pay with a card and I said ok. Although they didn't warn me they charged me more for using a card. I should have charged them extra if I walked to the grocery store for them. Went for smog, was unaware the filter on the vehicle we just purchased was aftermarket and made us fail. I have a hard time thinking he couldn't saved both our times and just tell us when he opened the hood. We still had to pay full price and then would have to pay full price again if I didn't let him do the work and charge his expensive shop rate. I've been other places where you have x amount of days to fix what's wrong if you fail and find that much preferable then just throwing away $60 for 10 minutes of waiting. Update: reached out to K&N who makes the intake and they said it's fully California legal and are sending over paperwork to prove it. I am now state reffed and have to deal with that due to Adrian's major mistake and had to pay $60 for this whole mess when the truck is fully up to code and should have passed. read more

We were happy to see a legit car shop open up here in mission hills. We saw it said "smog n go" so clearly they do smogs...BUT, they also do other vehicle maintenance and repairs. In the couple months they have been open, we have had two of our vehicles smogged there, as well as a new starter installed in another vehicle. Service has been friendly, straightforward, fast, professional and reasonably priced. It's so convenient to be just down the street we will be doing all our vehicles oil changes etc there from here on out. So if you're reading this, go support a local small business! read more

I drove all the way from Goleta for a smog test. I asked if he did smog pre-checks first. The owner said yes and then proceeded with the so-called "pre-test". He then revved my engine so hard that the check engine lit up and stalled the engine. Then he said your car failed the pre-test because of the check engine light and a couple of other issues. Turns out he lied about the pre-test. It actually was a real smog test and the failed test results were sent to the DMV. He then charged me $89 for the false pre-test and insisted that I leave my car with him to do the repairs that he caused. I left that shop with my car barely staying on and with smoke coming from burning oil. I then scheduled a smog test with a real smog shop and they re-tested and passed my car no problem. They replaced the spark plugs that he had fouled. Do not trust this guy He's a CROOK and a LIAR. Stay away from this guy. He will waste your time, damage your vehicle and take your money! read more

My Mustang was due for a smog, so I asked family and friends about the best place to get it done. Several people said Adrian's Smog is excellent. I went during my lunch break to see if they could finish it before I had to return to work. I was quoted $60, which was a pleasant surprise because I recently received a coupon for a business in the Santa Ynez Valley for $65.95. Adrian's everyday price is lower than the sale price of other businesses. I was told the smog would take about 20 minutes, so I walked to the nearby market and grabbed some food. I returned 15-20 minutes later, and my car was done. The total cost was $60. It is so nice when businesses can provide honest quotes and reliable time estimates. I didn't even need an appointment. DO NOT GO HERE!! I barely leave any reviews on yelp but this is what I have to say. I needed an O2 fouler installed which was just an unscrew of the old one and screw in the new one, no parts of the car needed to be took off to access it. I called on the phone originally and they quoted $75-150. When I got into the shop they made me sign a quote for $150. They put the car up on the lift, unscrewed the O2 sensor, screw the fouler in and screwed the O2 sensor back in, after they added a zip tie and cleared the engine code. Took 30 minutes from on the lift to off. 4 simple steps that I could have done within 10 minutes if I had a lift. I got to paying and I said so the quote is $75 right? The guy proceeded to make up excuses to why he wanted an extra $75 such as "it's an aftermarket part", "me and my buddy burnt ourselves cause it was too hot", and "we charge based on the install experience". I ended up paying $150 for something I can do in 15 minutes for free if I just had a lift. Horrible people running a horrible scam. I would leave a 0/5 review if I could. read more

Went to this shop for a SMOG test based on a referral from a shop, Lompoc SMOGS, on North I. They do not do older (1996) vehicles so sent me to Smog N Go in Mission Hills to see Adrian. The owner Adrian served us. It took 20 minutes as he stated it would. The truck passed with no problems. Chatted with Adrian about the business. He is knowledgeable, straight forward, professional and engaging. He is our guy from now on for our vehicles........Totally recommend this shop!! read more

Bad experience with the owner Adrian very rude on the phone when just calling to ask a simple question then proceed to tell me that because I didn't let him do the repair that he would have to charge me in full which is okay but you could deilvery a message with some courtesy instead of being rude and the funny thing is they didn't even offer to fix it once I got on my phone and started looking up the codes of why it failed smog . The wife is freidnly but I will no longer give this shop my business moving forward left a bad taste in my mouth and mind you iv actually brought about 4 Cars here prior never had anything bad to say until now and the last thing is the hour rate is kinda outrageous 175 a hour man I get it over head and what not but to dang for being a small family owned. Walked into the shop needing an oil change and I walked out wearing clown make up. Worlds most expensive oil change costing me 150$, not joking. Labor fee cost more than the actual oil and oil filter. If you need a smog and have no where to go, use this place. If you need an oil change, for the love of god save your money and go somewhere else. read more
