Who knew selecting a new roof could be such a project? With so many shapes, sizes, colours,…read morestyles, & textures to choose from it can make your head spin! Add on the fact that some roofs seem to change their appearance depending on your home's paint colour & time of day! Needless to say it's taken me awhile to select a new roof. But...when I finally made my decision, you'll never guess what happened...the materials I wanted were out of stock almost everywhere due to a roofing materials shortage! Go figure. After an extensive search & checking with several roofing supply companies, a number of contractors recommended JB Wholesale Roofing & Building Supplies. They offer a large selection of designer & luxury shingles, clay tile, & regular shingles. Although JB has several locations, I found that the Santa Fe Springs location was the most helpful. Not only did they give me a few complimentary samples to take home, but they were patient with all my questions, & shared their expertise regarding which colours & styles may look good on my home considering the proposed new paint colour & pitch of the roof. When my materials finally came in, JB arrived at the site on time & had a large crew of guys who were very professional. Due to the large quantity & heavier weight of the materials for my particular roof, they even loaded the roofing materials onto the roof with a large crane! Very cool! They not only worked together seamlessly & professionally like a well-oiled machine, but they respected my neighbours, took steps to protect my property, & caused no damage (to my knowledge). Even after the job was done, JB still answered any questions, concerns, & requests I had. If you're in need of a new roof, I highly recommend JB. Thank you JB Wholesale Roofing & Building Supplies! I LOVE my new roof! Tip: The address currently listed on Yelp in Norwalk is NOT a valid address. Just in case the update I've suggested to Yelp doesn't get posted, here's the correct address: 13105 Lakeland Road. Santa Fe Springs, CA. 90670

We were actually recommended to another popular roofing supplier but they were definitely not the friendliest and their earliest delivery would be in two weeks. We looked on Yelp and found JB Wholesale and so glad we found them. My boyfriend called, was able to make an order in person and get same day delivery (luckily they had our materials in stock). The employees were friendly, professional and overall great to work with, would highly recommend to everyone for roofing materials. ** Their location on Yelp is outdated, they are now in Santa Fe Springs.

Well now it's the CW again, and from the looks of it not much has changed. Still the same long walks down the hallways in relative quiet, unless you are rolling the panel truck like I was. Friendly customer service through the phone when I asked about availability/quantity of corrugated roofing panels. Then at the store the staff would help find the appropriate wood screws. Whereas in the past I remembered older folks staffing the store, now it's mostly younger guys and gals though knowledgeable all the same. Can't put my finger on it, but it does feels different from a Home Depot but in a good way.

Very few employees speak Spanish, which makes communication difficult for many customers. It is important to have staff who can assist customers in both English and Spanish. In addition, getting help from an employee takes an extremely long time. During my visit, I asked a cashier to hold an item for me while I continued shopping and planned to purchase it. Later, I discovered that the item had been sold to someone else. I found this very frustrating and unprofessional. What was even more disappointing was that the manager did not seem concerned about resolving the situation or addressing my complaint. I do not enjoy shopping here because of the poor customer service. Many of my construction employees and coworkers have shared similar experiences and have told me they avoid this store because of the service. Management and ownership should understand that customer service is just as important as pricing. If customers do not feel valued and respected, they will choose to spend their money elsewhere.

I am writing this review concerning the Cumaru deck boards I recently installed. Initially, I was…read moreextremely impressed. For the first few months after installation, the boards were everything I had hoped for--beautiful, durable-looking, and they gave my deck a fantastic appearance. However, my positive experience was short-lived. We recently had a few days of typical California rain, and I was shocked to find that several of the boards have become significantly deformed and bent. This warping is highly noticeable and has severely compromised the look and, I suspect, the long-term structural integrity of the deck. I purchased Cumaru specifically for its reputation as a hard, dimensionally stable tropical hardwood. To have this kind of warping happen after only a few days of standard rain is deeply disappointing and makes me question the quality control of the specific batch of lumber or perhaps the material's suitability for an environment with even moderate moisture. I truly hope this is an isolated incident with the boards I received. But based on my experience, I would caution future buyers to carefully consider the potential for moisture-related deformation when using these Cumaru deck boards.
