The Samoan receptionist is rude, unfriendly and lazy. She also lied to me. Please hire friendlier people.

Courtney was so amazing! She administered my IV sedation and completely made me feel at ease during a stressful time.

That alone made me feel cared for. I especially want to thank the nurse who received me this morning. I don't remember her name, but I will never forget her kindness. With her sense of humor and warmth, she eased my anxiety within minutes. In such a vulnerable moment, that kind of humanity makes all the difference. The medical team was professional, organized, and confident. Even in a highly technical environment filled with equipment, everything felt coordinated and reassuring. I felt safe the entire time. My procedure turned out better than expected, and I went home feeling peaceful and deeply grateful at 10:30 am Thank you for not only doing your job, but for doing it with empathy and heart. That is something that truly impacts patients and stays with them long after they leave I'm so grateful, thanks again all personal is amazing

During my visit, I experienced excessive wait times, poor communication, lack of follow-up, staff behavior. What was most concerning was lack of communication. I understand that hospitals can be busy and that healthcare professionals work under significant pressure. However, patients and families deserve clear communication, respect, and timely care. In my case, I had to wait 3 days for an MRI after that their wasn't a care plan to follow up. I had to advocate for myself for proper treatment. I am sharing this feedback not simply to complain, but in the hope that management will review these concerns and take steps to improve the patient experience. I would appreciate having someone from leadership contact me to discuss this matter further. Thank you for your attention.

I love that Yelp gives people the chance to review even government and military facilities, because…read moreNaval Hospital Camp Pendleton truly stands out as an important part of the military community. This hospital is clean, well maintained, and in a convenient location for service members, families, and retirees who rely on it every day. The facility itself feels organized and professional, and you can tell there's a strong sense of teamwork among the staff. The pharmacy, like most pharmacies, can sometimes be hit or miss depending on timing, but the staff are consistently friendly and patient, especially when helping elderly patients or those who need extra guidance. I appreciate how much effort they put into explaining medications and procedures clearly, even when signage and instructions are already posted. The overall customer service throughout the hospital is one of its strongest points staff members are generally respectful, professional, and willing to help. Bathrooms and common areas can occasionally be inconsistent when it comes to supplies like soap or paper products, but overall the hospital does a solid job maintaining cleanliness. This is a dependable military medical facility, and the dedication of the people working here is what makes it stand out.

It was so severely infected i went into the closet hospital the night i had several gallstone attacks and i couldn't be seen i sat there for 10 hours. and no i'm not exaggerating, id been taken to triage and that's it. I left and my husband and i went to the naval because after that attack stopped i had another intense one. The naval hospital sent me home on high grade ibuprofen and wanted to schedule me out by 2 weeks for a surgery, My gallbladder became so heavily infected due to a stone blocking a duct. i proceeded to go into the ER and they finally moved my surgery up! getting there was so difficult I then recently have gone into the er due to a miscarriage. I sat in the ER for 2-3 hours, i understand how i was not seen first, they want to focus on the more severe patients which is understandable. but then again not when i was in the waiting room i overheard a man come in with Hydraulic Fluid in his eyes, he told the lady it had already been in his eyes for about 10-15 minutes. It took him an additional 30-40 to go to triage. and within the rest of my 2-3 hours i sat there i never saw him get seen by a doctor. His eyes were puffy and inflamed. I practically thought abt asking if he needed help from my husband and i with maybe washing his eyes in the sink or somewhere because it was insane that out of all patients he wasn't taken back. As well as a newborn had been brought in for falling and hitting the back of her head. again baby sat there for 2 hours and never got seen. With how many times i've been in the ER i hear so many people around while i'm in my room just talking. no one actually working, and on top of that ive never had a clear diagnosis from this hospital. i've been misdiagnosed damn near every time and 2/3 of the times it was serious, i could and was on my way to becoming sepsis. i've gone to several other locations to get a second and third opinion and the naval has always been wrong. They will push medical coercion on to you, fear mongering, and horrible bed side manners. i've been pushed to do procedures or tests i'm not interested in for months, told horrible things will happen if i do not, and the most disgusting bed side manners DO NOT COME HERE If you value your life or your children's life do not come here. Go anywhere else EDIT: as well as do not confirm your pregnancy here. i've had 2 separate times where i've taken tests morning of going in and after and they're positive doesn't matter the brand, or anything hell i even had ultrasound photos showing an obvious pregnancy and Naval hospital as always said "your test came back negative" while i'm carrying 13 positive tests in a ziploc in my bag from the previous days and that day along with sonograms and i'm yet "not pregnant"? i struggle with losing babies often so this isn't new but i can most definitely tell you i was pregnant the two times they denied i was. As well as they will not refer to your baby as such they refused to with me and only said things like "zygote, embryo" yet he had a name and was a boy. Idc what other people's opinions are as doctors let's have SOME manners and compassion for your patients because it's utterly disgusting how much compassion they don't have

Surprisingly every single doctor and nurse treated me exactly like I would treat my grandmother. My only regret was not getting each and every name of every one who helped me do I could thank them personally now that I am out. I still might figure a way to do that. I just pray that everyone who took care of me sees this and knows how much I appreciate them. It was the scariest and worst time of my life, and the people working there made it bareable. She came into my postpartum room extremely rude and hostile, didn't even smile, didn't even congratulate me. She was very condescending and seemed to want to make me feel intimidated based on her job title, once I even found out what her job title was after our altercation... She demanded to me rudely to turn my TV off because I kept asking her to repeat herself, even after my infant was crying over her and I couldn't hear her, I wasn't even aware she was the social worker because she did not state that, she must have used another term but I was unaware she was the social worker when she introduced herself and her job title to me, not once did she say "social worker". After she left I asked the nurse when the social worker would arrive and they told me that she was the social worker. Her name was Ganell? Or Janelle? I felt like she made decisions based off her own personal dissatisfaction and judgment toward me, and was extremely unprofessional and power driven, keeping me at the hospital and preventing me from being discharged as some form of personal punishment for not taking her attitude very well. I even overheard that based on her judgement; that I might have to stay until Monday, and the stress has been killing me, for reasons she kept me, she didn't even inquire about, or even ask me to explain anything regarding her own concerns. I came in Wednesday at 6cm dilated in active labor around 3am and have another child waiting for me at home. I've been here basically 3 days and counting and I feel like I am in a postpartum prison. I don't understand why they cannot continue investigating my case at home and let me go home. Even a lot of other staff members and nurses are confused that I am having to stay so long and were surprised that I was no longer able to discharge based off Miss Janell's orders and "discomfort" of me.

Imagine paying for a Netflix subscription where you think the movies are free to watch after making…read moreyour monthly subscription fee, but you later receive a bill for hundreds of dollars because one of the actors in the movie you watched was not licensed by Netflix. This is how it is dealing with Scripps and healthcare in 2026. Beware of Scripps Health! This is an elaborate money-making scheme where they assure you that you will not be billed for things and then perform services that aren't needed for insane prices. They then threaten to send you to collections because the services they provided (that no one asked for and they recommended) were not actually covered by your insurance. We took our three healthy children to the doctor for an annual wellness check. They were not sick, had no complaints and did not have any specific reason to go to the doctor other than a simple annual wellness check. We were not at the clinic for more than an hour but somehow Scripps racked up a bill of over $4,000 -- just for a simple wellness check!? Insurance only covered a small amount and now they're threatening to take us to a collection agency over these unwanted and unrequested "services" because they said the physician they assigned to us was "not in network." How are we supposed to know one physician at your office would be covered by our insurance but the other one you assigned to us is not? Before going to Scripps, we called in advance to ask our insurance company if Scripps did a free wellness check. They said "yes." We then called Scripps to ask if the wellness check would be covered by our insurance and we wouldn't have any additional charges at the visit -- they said "no additional charges." Then at the counter my wife asked one more time if we would be charged for any of the services and they said "we can't know every insurance policy and what is covered. If it's not covered, you'll get a bill." They didn't even check to see if the physician they assigned us was within our network. Fast forward a few weeks later and we're asked to pay over $1,850 for three healthy kids without any issues? Buyer beware!

This review is for the PEDIATRICS department at the Scripps Coastal Oceanside Center…read more Look, I'll give credit where it's due--Dr. Randi Rupp and Dr. Benjamin Schleifer are decent doctors. But everything else about Scripps Oceanside Pediatrics is an absolute joke that has made me hunt for a new pediatrician. First, Dr. Rupp canceled our 9-month follow-up appointment just 15 minutes before it was supposed to happen. And guess what? No openings for TWO WEEKS after that, pushing the visit nearly to 10 months. We were forced to see another doctor the very next day, which we didn't want. We wanted continuity with our doctor. This kind of last-minute cancellation is completely unacceptable and disrespectful to patients' time. Then, after rescheduling, I get a reminder call an hour and a half later that makes no sense and only adds to frustration. At every single check-in--despite me handing my insurance card in every visit--I'm asked again for it. Seriously? How hard is it to scan a card ONCE and have it saved? Their inability to do this is absurd. And they still manage to bill my insurance without apparently having my card on file. That is contradictory and screams of broken administrative processes. Get it together! The medical assistant took multiple, wildly inconsistent height measurements like my baby magically grows an inch every few minutes. After the doctor himself was unsure of the numbers, I had to ask for a second person to measure because the first MA clearly wasn't trained properly. This kind of basic incompetence is ridiculous. Then came the blood sticks. The initial point-of-care iron test showed shockingly low results that made no sense given her health. The doctor himself was confused. Thankfully, I forced a retest to avoid unnecessary blood draws on my apparently 'perfectly healthy child,' but this whole ordeal shattered my trust. How many other families have gone through this? Do they even know? The second MA said that the first MA drew blood incorrectly. I found out later from the Office Manager that the machine itself was faulty. Great. Does this disqualify everybody's iron levels? How long has this been going on? The entire appointment dragged on for 1.5 hours--an eternity for a routine checkup. I followed up for two weeks as the doctor said he would have someone from the leadership team call me. Nobody did for two weeks. I had to follow up again and finally Office Manager Vanessa Z. called. When I confronted Office Manager Vanessa Z., she deflected blame, clung to "standard procedure," and showed ***zero accountability***. She tried to defend their broken system, refused to admit their staff's failures, and even got offended that I criticized her poorly trained, unaccountable, plainly incompetent (read: STUPID) team. Her attitude was dismissive and infuriating. DO YOUR JOB. Vanessa also had the audacity to blame the doctor for not ordering the repeat iron test instead of fixing the system that forced me to advocate for my child's care. This reeks of gross negligence or, worse, a billing scheme. I shouldn't have to be my child's doctor in their office! The staff here are untrained, the administration is a mess, and the overall mediocrity is mind-blowing. I will NOT recommend Scripps Oceanside Pediatrics to any parent who actually wants competent, respectful care. Scripps needs to take these issues seriously and fix their operational nightmare. What I experienced is a glaring systemic failure that is nothing short of unacceptable.

I was wondering at first and thinking how small is this area for parking to be a big of a problem. We came an hour early just to scout the place. They were not kidding. It's a big structure with lots of parking space but also full parking lot. Just like where I work.. it took us 20 minutes to find a parking space and was lucky to have it near the building where my appointment is. Reception wise, same as other Kaiser Permanente clinic or hospital I went to. In about less than 10 minutes, they called for my name and there's Ms Anna Lee and Mr Andrew receiving me warmly by the door. They brought me to my space and let me change into patient gown and Ms Anna Lee walked me through the procedure, Mr Andrew started my IV and I am very appreciative of him granting my request without questions. From there I already felt at ease and most of the questions in my head regarding the procedure were already explained. Few minutes passed and Mr Jonathan came in greeted me and introduced himself and took me to the procedure/sedation room. He also walked me through the things that will be done in that room. Mr. Cesar and Ms Kara were there as part of the team. Moments later, Dr Masters came in and explained to me what will transpire and ask me if I have questions. Procedure was done and all went well. I really appreciate being assigned to this team. They have exceeded my expectations. I was at ease and I have no doubts or questions during my visit. This is the quality of service I would like to have and also what I try to give to our patients as a healthcare personnel. Thank you so much to the whole team. Keep up the good work. :)

She was taken in in a timely manner and I started getting text updates almost instantly. The waiting room was bright and comfortable. When she was done, one of the nurses came out and showed me where to park in 30 mins to pick her up. I got my car from the street and received another text she was on her way. They brought her in a wheelchair and loaded her into my car. It was quick easy and super efficient. I'll be doing it again next month. I sure hope the parking situation is better then.
