The owner and her employee were both super friendly and helpful as we went crazy on our shopping frenzy. Lots of great locally made items, and she has a great eye. So happy we found this place- otherwise we would have come home empty handed. We got dishes, linens, dish towels and some books. We would have bought more if we had more room in our suitcases! The saleswoman there named Petra was so sweet and helpful, and helped me pick out a hat, and showed me their jewelry collection. I ended up with 2 hats and a pop up post card, was super happy with the entire experience. I'm going back tomorrow to explore the town of Paia some more and can't wait to visit other shops along the way.

Their little store is small, but mighty and the service is nothing short of spectacular. What *I think* they're mostly known for is their gift baskets/boxes. When holidays, birthdays, special occasions roll around, Lee Bear is such a great place to find an assortment of goodies for friends and loved ones. Their gift baskets are filled with treats like candies, Maui Cookkwees, gourmet cookies and rice krispies that have been dipped in a rich, decadent chocolate coating; freshly hand-dipped in their store to ensure high quality flavor. My favorite is the white chocolate covered pretzels with rice krispies, marshmallows, etc. SO good. It's the first thing I call dibs on when I see it. Haha! Just recently, I stopped in when my little one suggested we make lollipops. They had a wide selection of molds, gel food coloring, candy thermometer, basically everything and anything we needed. They even sold the white chocolate covered rice krispy treat by the package! It's a bit of a splurge, but I like what I like and will pay for it... lol. When we checked out, the lady (I'm assuming the owner?) asked us if we've made lollipops before and offered up so many tips and hacks. She answered all of our questions and even provided a mini recipe book that she suggested we keep as they don't make them anymore. I was really impressed, but not really surprised, with the quality of their customer service. That's what I love about mom and pop shops and the reason I will continue to support local businesses like these. I tried an edible arrangement but they would not deliver it to Maui hospital. I was able to get a hold of the kind lady from Lee Bear and although it was after hours, she took the time to talk to me. She listened to my situation and kindly took down my information and when she went to the store the next day, she made my order and delivered it to the hospital!! What amazing service! This is a prime example of living aloha!! I cannot even say how much I appreciated what she had done for me and how much it meant to me. The person receiving the gift basket was also elated and enjoyed the delicious treats that were in the basket!! Mahalo nui loa Lee Bear!!

The HIGHLIGHT of our day in Paia was visiting Mick's House of Fleetwood.... AND we met GRETCHEN RHOADES!!!!! She's a FANTASTIC singer and performs at Fleetwood's on Front Street, Lahaina, Maui. We've seen her perform with Mick, Willie K. and the house band MULTIPLIE times and EVERY performance is FANTASTIC!! You gotta check the Fleetwood's on Front Street Lahaina schedule and buy tickets to a show as soon as possible! Meanwhile in Paia, Mick's House of Fleetwood is JAM PACKED with unique Fleetwood Mac memorabilia, autographed tour items, even retro tour t-shirts that are IMPOSSIBLE to find elsewhere! There's even instruments from the makers who supply the band with instruments for sale. Beautiful stuff!!! We snapped up unique gifts, took a photo with Gretchen, Mick's nephew and the lovely young lady who is the very first employee of the very first Mick's House of Fleetwood! This shop, ran by local artist Cece Chenault, sells cards, decals, and other stationary and gift items that feature her original artwork. The artwork is colorful and whimsical, and the cards cover most occasions. The items are reasonably priced. The cards are on the expensive side compared to a generic Hallmark or American Greetings card, but they are comparable to Papyrus or more high-end cards. A unique card from Aloha Maui Creations makes for a more thoughtful gift than a generic mass-printed card.
