We had a 26' Uhaul to unload and our 50+ year old backs just weren't up to it. We needed some…read moremuscle. I looked at Yelp reviews and decided on Motivated Movers because of their great reviews. Trust me, these reviews were right on - these guys were great. I called for a quote. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the girl I talked to but she was friendly and knowledgeable. She listened to my needs, asked a few questions and gave me an immediate quote. The quote was a little higher than I expected, but three days before I needed the help, I wasn't going to argue. The only complaint I do have with the quote was the $85 travel fee. It was under 5 miles. Right now Google maps has the travel time at 11 minutes. Even being generous and giving them 20 minutes each way, we're talking over $2 a minute. Of course they could be charging by mileage which makes the charge over $8 a mile. I should have offered to go pick the guys up - heck, we could even have stopped for breakfast and I'd be ahead $50. We had already unloaded all of the small and loose items so the truck was only about half full. Although there wasn't any furniture, there was a small safe and a number of very heavy crates still onboard. The two guys barely broke a sweat. They unloaded quickly and didn't make a mess. We had a significant amount of rain the previous day and water was starting to get tracked in the house. The guys actually stopped to cover the floor before they proceeded to unload. There is a two hour minimum and our guys were done in about an hour and 15 minutes. (It took us over three hours to load.) They asked several times if there was anything else they could do. (I thought of sending them grocery shopping but I knew my husband would have just rolled his eyes at me!). Hopefully we don't have to move anytime soon but if we do we will definitely use these motivated Motivated Movers again!

They would double check on what needed to be moved and to where if I had not been clear on the instruction sheet. Otherwise, they followed it without any input allowing us to do other things while they worked. They have to be the #1 team of the company!! We had a very heavy piece of furniture to move downstairs. The team sized up the task, determined a plan and got it downstairs and in place. The great thing is there are no scuffs on the furniture, walls, floors or the trim work. We requested the first appointment (9AM) that required a 3-hour minimum. We had about 45 minutes left on the time and all 3 of them ask my wife and I if we needed anything else moved. Moved items they were specifically told not to move and left behind things they were supposed to move. I had to move 5 pick up truck loads of things they left behind. Did not send the number of people they said they would. Did not finish the job and had the nerve to demand full payment for an incomplete job. I should have checked them out more thoroughly. I would have learned that they have a "D" rating and revoked accreditation with the Better Business Bureau. Lesson learned.

On moving day, one of the movers was on time, the other was quite a bit late, but true their word, they didn't charge until both were on the job. Some started charging the moment the truck left their facility. While we had already moved what we could fit into our van, for a two bedroom house, there was still quite a bit of stuff. The movers didn't anticipate the amount and they really should have sent a bigger truck. The move was local - 3.5 miles - one end of Old Monrovia Road to the other. It still took 2 1/2 hours, though some of the time was trying to fit everything into the too small truck. It was hot yet the movers didn't take a break - they worked their butts off. There was absolutely no damage on either end of the move - I've never experienced that, even with the most careful movers. They did a fantastic job. I would hire Moving Hearts again in a heartbeat.
