Who says the second time around is not as good as the first? Well my second move utilizing Apple White movers was just as good as my first move with utilizing their services. I can not express my gratitude to the team. I was injured in a horrific car accident and could not complete all of the prep I would normally do to some of my finer pieces of furniture/ goods and I was worried. The management team and the moving crew told me " do not worry they would take care of you" ; and and that is exactly what they did. The entire team was wonderful. They helped me at a very difficult time in my life. All of my items arrived in pristine conditions and they made sure they were set up and arranged immaculately upon its arrival to my new home. The movers were careless and negligent while moving moving/loading items from my old address to my new one. This ignorant method of mishandling our property led to furniture items being broken and or damaged beyond use. To make this worse, they conned me into signing a liability form after lying to both myself and my wife in saying that they had taken pictures/notated the damages seem this far and would report them to their manager. This never should have happened and now I, A medically retired disabled Veteran, have to file a lawsuit against them bc they refuse to replace any of the items that the manager himself admitted his people had broken. I recommend that No Military or civilian personnel hire this fraudulent company for their moving needs. read more

I hired the services of Applewhite Movers in October this year to pack my household goods and place them in storage at a local Huntsville location. From start to finish this was a very pleasant experience (as unpleasant as moving is.) Applewhite sent a representative out who was very professional and courteous. She gave me very reasonable rates for packing and moving which the company honored with their blood sweat and tears. I say blood sweat and tears because my place was on a steep incline including 3 levels of stairs. Movers know the Church Hill condos at Airport and Whitesburg. On day one, the packing team of two too great care to ensure that my household items were properly wrapped and protected. The gentleman from West Point Miss was especially productive and helpful with advice. The next day, the moving team of five worked their butts off to ensure that they didn't go over the allotted hours I hired them for and took extra care to wrap my valuable wood furniture to protect it. After my goods were loaded onto their truck, a driver delivered them to the local storage facility where the same team quickly but carefully unloaded them that same day. What a great job without busting my budget! This was one of the best moving experiences that I have had and as a defense contractor who has moved more than 15 times in 30 years that is important. Some movers try to scam you for extra money or just throw your household goods in the truck carelessly when your back is turned. But not Applewhite. They treated my possessions as if they were their own. read more

On 20 November we used Applewhite to move us from an apartment into our new house. The men were very kind and efficient, however when I had time to clean the furniture throughly, I discovered several scratches on the a tv stand and on a night stand. I reached out to Applewhite and they called me and left a voicemail. I called back and was told the person who called me was out of the office that day. I never got a return call, but I have continued to call them back and as of 9 Jan I still have not heard back from them. I even sent an email with pics of the scratches. read more

Don't sign a contract to pay by the hour. They will slow walk you into a mountain of a bill. They moved two bedrooms, living room and washer and dryer for me and total cost was over $1100. I used Applewhite Movers for a 20 minute drive down the road. I moved a living room suite, bedroom suite, 2 tvs, small patio set, 5- 20 gallon tubs of items already packed, and a small chest freezer. I chose the 2 hr service with 3 movers. The movers were about 3 hours late when they arrived but I tried to be understanding of that considering moving sometimes can have some unforseen circumstances. But, after my move I saw why they were late. My entire move took about 5 hours when it should have taken no more than 2 hours. I got charged for 2 additional hours which is ridiculous considering how small my move was. I understand my items were heavy but 5 hours with 3 people? I even helped to speed up the process. I even had to tell them which way to bring in my couch through the door. My biggest complaint was that they didn't bring tools with them to break down my bed after I made sure to make notes when calling about my appointment. They were very inexperienced and slow and I think that inexperience shouldn't be charged to the customer. read more

I found this company on Groupon and gave them a call. The customer service was awesome and my entire experience was hassle free. The movers showed up on time & got right to work. I paid for 3 men/2 hours for 125 (Groupon deal) and they finished in 2 hours. I find that most moving companies go slow to milk you out of more money, not the case with Applewhite!! The men where timely and professional. I would definitely use them in the future & highly recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company! read more

Mys sister has talked to me about little else since she had the delightful experience of working with Applewhite Movers. It has been years since she began to consider the purchase of a new mattress. In the meanwhile she did her research to seek the perfect mattress at the perfect price and means to move it from the store to her home. Like I said-years. She finally set aside time to look for a brick & mortar store (JC Penney's) and was ready to bring it home, but Penney's deal was a close out and delivery was the concern of the purchaser, not Penney's. Fortunately, my sister heard about Applewhite (from another friend) and called them to meet her at Penney's. She was pleasantly surprised to find them polite, professional, punctual, gave her personalized care and removed her old mattress, reinstalled the new one with patience and attention to detail. We used them to move my mother-in-law's things out of the nursing home when she passed away. There was great communication with the sales office and they helped us right away, but other than that it was not a very experience. The movers showed up early to the nursing home and the nursing home was not ready. As a result I was charged an additional $77. They were in too big of a hurry and my husband's aunt said they dumped the dresser off the dolly and were not careful. Nothing was damaged, but things were missing that no one seems to have. There was a big plant that was never delivered and not sure they actually picked it up though it was on the list for pick up. There was a thimble collection that was never delivered though was supposedly in the dresser. None of these missing items were expensive, but were sentimental to the family. Since we had to coordinate this from long distance we were not there to supervise. We feel the price was very high for a local move of a handful of items. I would not use them again. read more

We were a bit worried as we had lots of glass top desks and furniture to move but they wrapped everything up nicely and nothing was broken when we got to the new home. Applewhite Movers are unethical and they will damage or lose your items. Let me start by saying, I used Applewhite Movers about two years ago. They showed up and got the job done in a timely manner without damaging or losing any of my assets. I liked them so much that I referred multiple people to them. I recently moved again and I chose to use them again due to my first experience. They have went down hill and they are no longer a stand up/honest company. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and I know why first hand. They key lost a piece to my kitchen table and they damaged my brand new furniture. I called multiple times about the missing piece a week after I moved and no one took it seriously. I finally sent an email and that is when I finally received a serious response. A man by the name of Jared Francis came out to look at everything. He stated, I only had 3 to 5 days to report anything missing or broken but they were going to work with me since I'm a repeat customer. I didn't realize I had only 3-5 days to let them know about any issues. He said, the 3-5 day policy was in the fine print of the contract. I was caught totally off guard because, I didn't even know that I signed a contract. I only remembered signing my receipt saying the delivered my items/provided moving services; however, not a contract. He made me feel as if he was doing me a favor and I should just be happy. No reputable moving company who stands behind their services would have a policy that you only have 3-5 days to let them know if they broke something or if you are missing something. 3-5 days is not a reasonable amount of time for anyone to unpack an entire house. Ethical companies stand behind their work and as result they have repeat customers. Applewhite Movers are not confident in the services they provide. If they were, they would not sneak the 3-5 days into the fine print of a receipt and call it a contract. The movers arrived over an hour late. They arrived with 4 men instead of 3. The 4th man told me that he was there to get them started. Basically he was doing a training session on my dollar ($125 per hour). They should have known how to wrap furniture, efficiently load boxes, how to drive the truck, etc. before they showed up at my house. It started to rain within the first 15 minutes or so of my move and I asked them to move the truck to the garage so that can load my items. They basically blew off my suggestion. The 4th man was little on the arrogant side and he acted as if he had everything under control. He basically wanted me to go sit down in a corner and be quiet. All he did was train/direct and talk on his phone. The 4th man finally left after the 1st hour or so. I asked the movers AGAIN to move the truck to the garage so that will not have to walk so far and sadly, none of them knew how to drive the truck. A 5th man showed up to drive them to my new house. The movers were extremely slow. The really sad part is, I was lifting and carrying items just speed things. If had not stepped in my bill would have been insanely high simply because the movers lacked experience. The whole process was a nightmare. I hired movers to ease the burden of moving and they did not deliver. I was so tired after my move. Applewhite did replace the missing piece to my kitchen table and they sent a repairman out to fix my brand new furniture. Let's be honest, who really wants patched up brand new furniture??? I purchased brand new furniture because that is what I wanted. I never thought they would be careless enough to place it bottom sized upwards on the fragile side. I truly blame the management at Applewhite Movers. They are not hiring experienced movers or training the movers adequately which is why the are inefficient and damaging/losing people's property. I really tried to brush it off and just never use them again but the more and more I thought about the move, the more I would get upset. 1. I should have never had to carry boxes etc. 2. They should have been on time. 3. The movers should have been trained before they came. 4. The movers should have known how to drive the truck. 5. There should not have been a 4th guy to drive them to my house and to get them started/train them. 6. There should not have been a 5th guy who showed up to drive them to my new house. All of this resulted in inefficiencies/wasted time, damages, and wasn't fair to me "the customer". I did ask for a partial refund because of my horrible experience. However, I never received a response from Applewhite Movers (Jared Francis). Take it from me and stay away. I can assure you that there are more disappointed customers out there who may not have written a review. It took a lot for me to decide to write this review. I bought the service on Groupon for two movers for four hours. I asked about packing services and was quoted about 2 hours to pack the kitchen @ $75.00 per hour not including supplies. we were billed for 10 hours of packing plus materials. The problem with this is we were moving from a small townhouse and our new house is less than a mile away. We ended up with over 50 boxes!! Scratched wood floors they dropped weights on our steps that had just been refinished! Ruined my china cabinet ( burled walnut hand made )! Our move took about eight hours and our adult sons even started helping them because they are so slow. But this is how they take advantage of their customers because they can charge you more money over and above the Groupon. Now we finally get them out of our home and start unpacking and couldn't believe what was in our boxes. Wooden salad bowls wrapped with several layers of bubble wrap and tape and then padding.. we found several boxes with only one item in it. when I called them to complain about the damage to our furniture and floors they didn't seem to care they just wanted an additional $1800.00 over and above the Groupon! So the owner came by our office to pick up the payment and I let him know how dissatisfied we were with their services and he didn't even offer to come and look at the damage or adjust the outrageous bill. He literally stood in my office with a smile on his face and let me know these were his fees. So hopefully this review will help others to not make the same mistake my husband and I did. read more

I used Applewhite twice within a two month period. Giving them now, over $1200 in fees. This is fine, I'm ok with the rates (they are comparable to other companies in the area). The moving team, both times, were fantastic. They are friendly and move quickly. The office staff is pleasant to deal with over the phone. When I scheduled this last time, I was told that I had 72 hours (can't recall exactly the hours) to make a claim. When they finish, they make you sign a statement saying they didn't damage anything. This is obviously impossible to inspect all your household goods in 15 minutes! I give allowances for moving, some things will be dinged and damaged. I made no claim the first move. The second...I moved on a Wednesday, noticed the damage on Friday. Called Monday since they close so early on Friday and are not open on the weekends. I was told by their claims processor that "people do this all time, wait and say we broke it when we didn't." Excuse me? When I told him that I didn't appreciate him inferring I was making a false claim, he said, "I didn't say that. No need to get 'hostile'. I'm just saying is all". What exactly is it you're saying? I sent the pictures to the email he asked me to send to, to date, I have not heard anything back or follow up, it has been over 2 weeks now. I will NOT be using their services again. Heck! The multiple Army movers I've dealt with over the years do a better job with customer service!!! If that's possible! read more
