This was a very nice clean store with super wholesome and kind people working there, which made the checkout process super easy! But they didn't sell cointreau which we felt was a very common liquor. The parking lot outside was very dark and their closing time is rather early at 9pm. read more

Very nice turn events of the old Army/Navy store. Super cool inside. Love the local faire and the customer service. They have a great selection of Montana made liquor and seem to be a great stop for locals and out of towners. Prices seem fair, maybe $5 more than normal, so that seems reasonable to me. They have a farmers market Thursday May-September and a cool outdoor venue area that is trying to bring in bands. It's a neat place and we like to support local. Although, I'm sure the packers roost crowd won't be in here anytime soon. And that's not a bad thing. read more

Pretty wide selection. I was rather impressed. They also have a section of locally distilled spirits, so definitely check that out. The staff is quite knowledgeable about the local stuff, which is helpful for an out of towner. The prices are decent, depends on what you are getting. I only buy particular spirits, and one of my staples was about $5 more than my local liquor store in Chicago. Not sure if that is a good bench mark, but still good to know. There is a farmer's market on thursday evenings in the same lot shared by the store. Great market btw, with music and food. read more

Plenty of choice of expensive booze in here but seriously overpriced. Looks like a 30% to 40% markup over other stores on most items. For example, Macallan 12 year Scotch at $63, should be in the $40's (and is in our local Costco in CA). These guys are raking it in from the tourists ... read more

I recently moved to Columbia Falls, and hadn't been to this place in several years. The last time I was there it was your basic run-of-the-mill liquor store. Old, musty, pretty basic. I was definitely surprised when I walked in to the smell of coffee and Christmas, with beautiful decorations and lighting, and soft Christmas tunes playing. The employees were so friendly and the prices are much lower than other places I buy my bottles at. The hours are great, too! read more

This review is for the Columbia Falls, MT location as I have not been to the store in Kalispell. O'brien's has a great selection with reasonable prices in a large, clean and upscale space. Most importantly, the staff is friendly and knows a lot about their products. Yesterday an employee helped me select a wine for Christmas dinner when what I had planned to purchase was not in stock. She also said she could get me the original product I had planned to purchase if I wanted it ordered. I appreciate too what Mr. O'brien brings to the Columbia Falls community with all his involvement in local events and the wine tastings he has recently started at Three Forks Grille. I am happy to shop here and recommend it to friends. read more

A very beautiful store. Over the years various liquor stores have opened and closed in our town, which is small and not so good at supporting small businesses. O'Brien's is the best of them all: big, have lots of different brands and types, nice decor and arrangement of products, just a really high quality store. A rare thing in my town! It is also located next to the Glacier Bank, an excellent location with good parking. I don't know much about alcohol; I only go to buy alcohol for cooking, but they always have everything I wanted. The people are really friendly and helpful. It is likely the best liquor store in the whole county in terms of size, selection and ambience. read more

Apparently Obriens liquor chooses to boost their sales by placing heavy liquor bottles in cheap paper bags to people from out of town. Purchased two 5th ' s and store clerk placed in single cheap paper bag. Needless to say after returning to the condo and getting out of the car holding the bag, the 30 dollar bottle of bailey's fell to the ground as the bag had ripped from the weight of the 2 bottles. Went back to the store to get a replacement and the store clerk couldn't have cared less. Didn't apologize or make an offer to discount our replacement purchase. Will not be purchasing liquor at this store again. Will find other choices on next trip to the area. read more
