Great Food Indoor and outdoor seating Incredible beer menu We made a stop here late in the day for some food and we were shocked how FANTASTIC the food was. Rarely do you find a spot that has great beer and great food, but Backslope does both But if you read my reviews, you know I like to steer you through the menu, at least what we tried. Foreman's Stout - full bodied, delicious. Ginger/Lemonade - refreshing, sooooo GOOD. House Fries - sliced as chips, but so good. Hummus - great consistency, but needed some citrus to finish it off. Still good, but I am picky about hummus. Tzatziki sauce - incredible, delicious, get this. Pecan Salad with Chicken - HOLY SMOKES, my wife loved this dish. She made me come back another time just so she vould have it again. Gyro Platter - light on the chicken, but really delicious. It was enough for two or more meals. Gyro - so full I could not fit it into my mouth. But enough for two. Really great find,

After a long day of hiking at Glacier National Park, we were starving. The portion size was pretty good for the price. We ordered the gochujang ribs and also fried chicken sandwich with garlic Parmesan fries. The fries were soggy, but seasoning was good.

Such an inviting ambience! Server was so kind, and we had a lot of kids with us. Food was delicious. Beers were fresh flavors!

Stopped here after a day of hiking for dinner and got a seat right away for 4 of us. The menu is a bit limited in options with only a standard burger, a chicken sandwich, some bowls and wraps, and a pasta dish. I ordered the Gyro Pita with chicken and it was good. The chicken was tender and seasoned well, but some of the pieces were room temperature like the chicken was made prior and heated up when I ordered. There were also only a few chicken chunks in the pita, so the protein level wasn't very fulfilling. The remaining part of the pita was full of cucumber, red onion, tomato, cabbage, parsley, and a drizzle of delicious house tzatziki. The tzatziki was wonderful, just wish there was more to have with every bite and help keep the ingredients from falling out of the pita. The dish was also served with house fries that were seasoned with parsley and sea salt. I definitely would have liked a larger portion of the pita, I still felt a bit hungry after my meal and for $17 it should have been more. As a drink I ordered a sour with cherry and plum flavor, along with a few other fruits and spices. It was great and refrshing! Overall, the food and drink was good but left me wanting more.

We had a really great burger. Beer selection was great. We had a really friendly and attentive waitress.

    Hot honey flatbread

Came here on our way back from Glacier and were so glad we stopped! The interior is super cute, and everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We ordered the hot honey flatbread (10/10), ginger lemonade (10/10), chicken sandwich with garlic fries, and the fish & chips.! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot after a day of exploring. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Columbia Falls!

Came here because of the most reviews. Wanted to try just one brewery in the area. Had the Pilgrim Blonde which had a little more hops than I'm used to. Decent beer. The house fries are the BEST I've had, EVER. Didn't have luck with fries in Idaho but Montana came through. We originally just ordered the beef burger which had great quality meat ordered medium well. Once we tasted the fries I immediately asked to order a large batch. I'll be coming back. Also, great fast service. Helpful and nice waitress and great cook.

    Specials of the day!

Spacious tap room with food! Special of the day was a mushroom burger with homemade fries and fry sauce! I rate burgers on how much my wife eats.....normally 50%, this burger was Almost completely gone, this was a 5 out of 5 burger! Great sear and seasoning, very juicy burger! And great taste! Paige our server was very attentive and helpful to answer questions! I went with the Stony Stream as my beer and complemented the burger and fries perfectly! I liked the fry sauce option with a slight ting!

I really enjoyed Backslope Brewing. I love a brewery that also includes great food. Backslope's food is top tier for brewery + food spots. There's a wide selection of beer and some noted on the menu as award winning which may help steer your decisions. We went to Backslope after a full day of hiking and it definitely got the job done. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and I'd return if I ever find myself in GNP again.

This is my second time at Backslope. The first time I stopped in was years ago during my first visit to Glacier. I was really excited to go back as I had such a great experience the first time. We shared a flight and I would recommend each of the beers but really enjoyed the sours. I had the fish and chips for my lunch and really enjoyed them. The slaw had a little too much carrot for me but I still enjoyed it. We stopped for a late lunch and had no wait. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in at Backslope and I will definitely return during our next Glacier trip!

We often stop here after class in the park. Fresh menu and many beer choices. My husband likes a bock beer and it isn't always in stock. Friendly efficient staff. Plenty of parking. You may wait if it is busy but if the weather is good they have an outdoor patio area.

Is there outdoor dining? Yelp shows no, but in the pictures I see patio umbrellas

So when I was there it was a bit chilly and didn't see anyone on the patio, however, they do have a small patio area. I would call and ask, it might depend on the season. It was super yummy though!

Do they have any gluten free dishes that are safe for people with celiac disease?

Many of our dishes are made with ingredients that do not have gluten, for instance most of our rice bowls and the sauces that go into them do not contain gluten. However, we do have gluten in the kitchen so we can never guarantee that an item coming…

Do we need reservations for a group or 5?

It doesn't hurt to give a heads up. I can't remember if they do reservations

We started off with the Alaskan Halibut Corndog, its more of a cooked more inside, and I kid you not I wish I ordered another of these it was so good! We also had the  Bunuelo which is shaped to mimic a pretzel that was filled with a glorious goat cheese mousse and kraut powder and a little jalapeno relish I have never in my life tasted anything like it, it was sensational. If you see this on the menu immediately order it. Next up was the Dungeness Crab Cake there is something to be said about a beautiful rendition of this dish with its flaky generous portions of crab, thoroughly enjoyed. The Grilled Korean Short Rib was an absolute favorite of mine as well, there is no way you cold get enough of it. For the mains we had the Pan Seared Duck Breast 4/5 came with the most beautiful cherry mole and corn succotash that was just exception, the balance on this speaks to the chefs talent. Now the issue here was actually the duck, one side of the breast just seemed very over and chewy while the other was perfect which is a shame but I am glad to have tried it. My kid thoroughly enjoyed Lamb Ragu with gnocchi and I honestly couldn't agree more and how well made the gnocchi was, pillow soft and utterly flavorful. But the real star of the night was Wagyu with tallow fried tater tot, chimichurri and brown butter carrots I would say though this dish commands a price, it was absolutely worth it, done exactly as ordered and every bite of each component was heavenly. For dessert we had the Cornbread dessert with miso caramel and burnt honey ice cream and it blew my mind, I am not a honey person but there's also a sense of trust you gain while eating that the kitchen knows best so dive in head first and it didn't disappoint we also had the Evening in Missoula Panna Cotta with rhubarb, orange blossom meringue and coconut boba the burst of flavors I kept getting and the delightful panna cotta was superb. Both the desserts were comped by the restaurant since even though we had a reservation we waited far too long of a time, it was close to 45min before we were seated because the previous customer had paid but were holding the table up. To me that's not something I can shrug off, I understand that they were full but 20min max I can excuse more than double is a hard swallow regardless of how great are host eventually was (Hi Dennis, you were awesome thank you!) and I appreciate the free deserts but overbooking might have been your issue here.

We ordered the Tot-chos (half order to share among six people) and I also got a huckleberry soda for myself as well as the bison (classic) burger with sweet potato fries. For dessert, we shared two scoops of huckleberry ice cream (from Sweet Peaks), the bread pudding and the beignets. I loved the Tot-chos, and the half order was honestly a pretty big size already! The huckleberry soda was pretty sweet (I think it had 41 grams of sugar), but I don't regret trying it. The bison burger wasn't bad, it definitely tasted similar to beef, but it was a huge burger so I couldn't finish it. The sweet potatoes were also delicious. In terms of the dessert, I had gone to Sweet Peaks already and liked their huckleberry flavor a lot, so I was excited to see them on the menu. People at my table loved the bread pudding. I thought the beignets were not bad, but they weren't as good as the other desserts.
