This is hard to leave a review without being totally open to criticism because of my story but…read moreoverall, I was really scared and I was going back and forth between this clinic and planned parenthood, ultimately I decided here based on the financial person I spoke to on the phone being so dang helpful and kind. The whole experience wonderful and everyone was so gentle and kind and supportive of your choice, I didn't feel any judgement or uncomfortable feeling, I felt i could ask anything. They took really good care of me through out everything and helped me through my emotions. Hugs, talks, everything I needed while I cried. I just wish my partner was allowed in but I understand their precautions. Thank you to everyone there that really made me feel at ease during this whole process.

This 2nd time was so scary for me I don't even know what happened, I wasn't aware when they put me to sleep and I wasn't aware of being placed in a Chair after being in the surgical room. Never received after surgery go over. They just gave me discharge papers and read the after surgery care... I'm just getting home and will be calling to ask what medication I was given threw out the process. I'm experiencing vaginal BURNING so I think they cut my vagina area due to tools and stretching... but I was not told about what happened or if that's what happened to me. Over all unhappy and scared.

The receptionist who handles the phone and faxes is abhorrent. Imagine being the front line for a place that is supposed to issue care and being a short-mouthed drone devoid of any emotion. I've called to verify my referral for cardiology so that I may get answers in what is going on with my heart, but she keeps claiming that no fax has come through. She said that yesterday, but in fact the fax had come through because they sent a response back to my ND needing clarification on something. She responded back at 3pm yesterday. When I called to confirm today, she immediately said no, I informed her I verified with my ND and mentioned the back and forth yesterday and she still said she didn't have them, that she manned all the faxes so she would know. Firstly, lose the attitude. Maybe you made a mistake, you're not going to take 3 seconds to double check? SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED and work in a job where she doesn't deal with people. **Editing to add: Two stars given back for the OTHER receptionist I talked to that helped me to figure out what actually happened with the fax, rather than just write me off. They need more of you.

Their nurses were very friendly and the lactation specialists helpful. There was one cranky nurse they had to deal with in the middle of the night but they sent her on her way. No time for that. Other than that one, they have high praise for everyone they encountered. The recovery suite was a good size with a sofa for dad to sleep on. He stayed the entire time. Mom's meals were included in the cost of the room and dad's were a bit over five bucks. Order by phone or app and the meals are delivered to the room. Sweet. Free parking in a bunch of lots or garages are scattered around the building. Signs direct you. The campus is huge. It's hard to know which parking lot is near where you need to be and then once inside finding your way around requires directions, even with signs pointing the way. Guests are buzzed into the birthing area. There is a comfortable area right inside the door with couches and tables and chairs. It's a beautiful, modern section of the hospital.

As soon as Dr. Barbour walked into the examination room she gave a dirty look. I smiled and said it's great to finally meet you. It's been a while since I've had a primary care provider and you're my new listed PCP. She immediately said that is meaningless to her and she doesn't care if she's listed as my PCP, while maintaining the same scowl she had when she entered the room. While there, she told me that my malnutrition had absolutely nothing to do with my sports and training injuries and argued with every experience I've had with my sports injuries, my colitis of 26 years, and my father who is having medical problems and doesn't have much more time left on this planet. I have seen two doctors since then at Harborview Medical and at UW medicine and they have both confirmed that malnutrition does effect sports injuries. I am currently a 44 year old man and a former professional athlete. Now that I no longer compete, I am exploring different diets to keep my body fast levels down and decided to try intermittent fasting. I attempted to do a more extreme version of it where I was only eating one meal a day and ended up becoming very malnourished, and this is around the time my old sports injuries started to resurface. Having competed in sports my whole life and even as an adult on the professional level, I have come to be able to know when my body is being effected by my nutrition of lack thereof. Dr. Barbour was adamant that my malnutrition had absolutely no correlation with the resurfacing of my old sports injuries, and even when I told her that this is just my opinion based off of my experience she completely disrespected my experience with my own body and told me again this has nothing to do with my injuries. Two doctors, Dr. Sheeks at Harborview, and Dr. Liem at UW Medicine have both confirmed to me, after I told them about my situation, that Dr. Barbour was wrong and that malnutrition does indeed play a factor in sports injuries and increasing my potential to have one or have one resurface. Dr. Barbour showed me absolutely no respect here and talked to me as if I was a child and not a 44 year old man with a unique life experience of being a former professional athlete. Almost every word and sentence I tried to speak she would immediately put down, argue as being wrong and then try to impose her opinion as being the correct one, even if she had no frame of reference or understanding of the situation, including my father, my grandfather, and my own sports injuries. Another disrespectful assumption she tried to impose on me was when I related my experience with my first colonoscopy. I had the procedure done in the year 2000 when I was 18 years old and I was awake during the process. The colon cleansing agents they gave me the day before did not work and they spent several hours cleaning me out first which was extremely uncomfortable. It was a very bad experience overall. Dr. Barbour completely disregarded my experience and said that kind of thing NEVER happens! I told her, "Well, that happened to me!" That memory is still burned into my mind and saying that it can never happen cannot make my life experience disappear no matter how hard she tries to argue with me. Overall I felt completely disrespected by her behavior. She would speak to me with a disrespectful tone even when asking about my sports injuries. One example was when I told her that I am having shoulder pain. She raised her voice in a scolding tone,"WELL IN WHAT WAY!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!!" Talking down to me as if I am a child. I am a 44 year old man, and this is completely disrespectful. I then had to raise my voice and tell her, however this would have been completely unnecessary if she had just asked kindly.

Surgeons answered all questions, I felt safe, cared for and seen as an individual and felt both protected and respected as a patient. They helped me before during and after surgery and assisted me as I went thru steps of recovery afterwards . After days of unbearable breast pain following cyst drainage, I called to try to schedule an ultrasound. I was left on hold for a long time and then told by Angelica that the only available time was 8:45 a.m. I already had an appointment at that time, and despite explaining that I was in significant pain, no other options were offered. I specifically requested that she not contact me again because of how the call was handled. The next morning, I received a call from a woman named Veronica. She did not identify where she was calling from at first and had a very rude and dismissive attitude. When I explained that I needed an appointment and asked if she had received the information from the previous staff member, she became argumentative instead of helpful. I actually had to tell her to calm down because of how she was speaking to me. She then claimed they had offered me multiple appointment times (8:45 or 9:45), which is not true. I was only ever offered 8:45. When I said I could come at 9:45, she responded rudely and then hung up on me. I am the patient. I was in pain and being told by urgent care that I needed to return to the breast center for imaging. Instead of being treated with care and urgency, I was made to feel like a problem for needing help. I have never been treated this way at any doctor's office in my life. No patient in pain should be spoken to like this or hung up on. I will not allow Angelica or Veronica to contact me again and I do not feel comfortable returning after this experience.
