I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated by the staff at this breast center while I was in severe pain and seeking urgent care. After days of unbearable breast pain following cyst drainage, I called to try to schedule an ultrasound. I was left on hold for a long time and then told by Angelica that the only available time was 8:45 a.m. I already had an appointment at that time, and despite explaining that I was in significant pain, no other options were offered. I specifically requested that she not contact me again because of how the call was handled. The next morning, I received a call from a woman named Veronica. She did not identify where she was calling from at first and had a very rude and dismissive attitude. When I explained that I needed an appointment and asked if she had received the information from the previous staff member, she became argumentative instead of helpful. I actually had to tell her to calm down because of how she was speaking to me. She then claimed they had offered me multiple appointment times (8:45 or 9:45), which is not true. I was only ever offered 8:45. When I said I could come at 9:45, she responded rudely and then hung up on me. I am the patient. I was in pain and being told by urgent care that I needed to return to the breast center for imaging. Instead of being treated with care and urgency, I was made to feel like a problem for needing help. I have never been treated this way at any doctor's office in my life. No patient in pain should be spoken to like this or hung up on. I will not allow Angelica or Veronica to contact me again and I do not feel comfortable returning after this experience. read more

The Breast Center and Patient relations at Valley Medical both followed up with me. They were able to get me an appointment only a few days later instead of 10 weeks later! ---- original post --- Valley Medical Breast Center scheduled my DEXA scan and it was about 6 weeks out. They cancelled it with 4 hours of notice saying they did not have all the stuff from my regular doctors office to do it. The next appointment was 10 weeks out. If they had let me know with even a few days I could have sorted this out. In fact my doctor did say that they had sent the information over, so it was just some kind of communication mix-up. Final confirmation that my appointment was cancelled was at 7 am for an 8:45 appointment. It took me only 1 hour by visiting my doctors office, to get the right communication to happen. --- end original post ------- I would give 5 stars if they could figure out what in their process they can change so that the patient can be notified that there is a problem. The fix still gets the test too late for my doctor's appt to get the results. read more

From my own experiences my two appointments here were treated with respect and attention. I came here for my first mammogram and checked-in via the tablet as the receptionist was busy with the patient. I found the lobby waiting room to be spacious, if not a little odd shape, but both visits I found I barely waited. Escorted to the back I was shown a locker and given a warm robe. Then I was motioned to the inner waiting room. The second time I visited I observed a woman who appeared to need assistance as she came out disrobed and struggled with the locker. The staff very respectfully and patiently helped her which I was impressed with. The inner waiting room was smaller with one magazine that was from 2022. My second visit I kept my phone. I'd recommend that as the wait time was longer. Both visits I was brought in the back to have my mammogram conducted and the nurse was sure to explain what was happening and the level of discomfort to expect. After my first visit I was explained there was a high probability of a return visit, so I wasn't surprised when I received a call. Now, the person who initially set up my appointment didn't explain everything so I was confused when I received two different appointment notifications. I called and the staff patiently explained and apologized for the confusion. Throughout both visits I felt treated with respect and professionalism. I appreciated the detailed explanations which ensured I experienced little to no anxiety. Was it pleasant? Oh no, not at all - it is uncomfortable at best, but it is necessary. When I arrived to my mammogram appt (first one) no one was at the front desk so I used the little kiosk that said self check in. I verified my info was correct and sat down to wait. Previous to this I had filled out extensive health history online. While I sat and waited I could hear employees chatting in the back, not work related. I waited more. Finally someone came out because another patient came in. I asked if they saw I had checked in and was told they needed to double check something. Finally someone came out and told me that because I wasn't in the room undressed at 2:30 they would need to reschedule my appointment. This is completely ridiculous! My appt was made for 2:30 and that is what the reminder said. I also sat and waited while people chatted in the back, not seeming to care about the time then. I have nothing good to say about this office and will find somewhere else to go. Besides the person that walked in after me, there were no other patients waiting. I was 7 min late to my 7am appointment today. This is the first appointment available for the day. One other person was still checking in in front of me but the waiting room was empty. I was told I had to reschedule because I was late. She reminded me that I was told to arrive early. I understood the common courtesy to arrive early but there was no sign or instruction that if you were going to be 7 min late from your actual appointment time you would be turned away. There was nothing said on the letter I received or the reminder text about the tardiness policy. With the chaotic parking due to the construction on several buildings on the Valley medical center itself I don't think 7 min late is a reason to be turned away. I left today and I will take my business elsewhere. read more

My experience was poor. I arrived early and thought I was being checked in. Receptionist looked me up and was having difficulty because I changed PCPs, I explained the old one moved to Auburn, suddenly she said I have you signed in and to have a seat. Two different people approached me in the empty waiting room and asked if I was checked in I said yes about 10 minutes ago. Then receptionist calls out my name and announces she wanted to check me in. I was suprised I said remember you checked me in 10 minutes ago. Oh no I signed you in, not checked you in. From that point she was beyond rude. Started to explain they service hundreds of people and I had arrived 15 minutes early blah blah blah. I looked around and saw no people in the waiting room. So strange why didn't she ask me to atleast have the paperwork filled out as I waited? When I was taken back she insisted I get changed even though I was prepared and had worn the correct clothes for bone density scan. Ok no problem she handed me a form to fill out I started to fill it out and she says no AFTER you get undressed. Not used to being treated like this. My last bone scan was 5 years ago and I don't remember anything like this. I won't be going back. I have my mammograms done at Swedish on first hill much better and more professional. Even though the location is convenient for me this experience was too strange. read more

Had a very bad experience with Valley Breast center in Covington they were busy, disorganized. Already posted a review. I had to pay for additional imaging someplace else because they "pick & choose" imaging, rushed they didn't do a good job. When I went to another facility was informed Valley Medical had withheld important prior imaging. This is not ok a patient's history of imaging is important and this was very unprofessional of them! I've been getting my mammo's here for years, and never had an issue until recently. Pls be aware, if you mention any type of breast issue (In my case, I mentioned a bruise on my RIGHT breast) while scheduling your annual screening exam, they will change your appt from a "screening mammography" to a "diagnostic mammography". What's the difference? They can charge a whole lot more for the latter. I scheduled my annual screening exam and mentioned that I had a bruise on my right breast. The scheduler indicated that they would check it out during the mammography, and if the doctor saw a concern, they would immediately follow up with a 2nd appt, a diagnostic exam, same day. Little did I know that she scheduled a diagnostic screening instead. So my question, if it's a diagnostic screening bc I noted a bruise on my RIGHT breast, why did they perform a DIAGNOSTIC exam on my left breast as well? The real answer? It was a SCREENING EXAM, which is why they screened BOTH breasts. They refuse to take responsibility for their sham, so I'm left complaining to the attorney general. In the meantime, I'm transferring my care to Evergreen health and letting everyone know, that if you don't want to be pay for an exam that your insurance likely covers for free (or partial coverage), then don't mention any breast issues or they'll use it to charge you more. That's not the right thing to do, but that's what they're forcing patients to do when they can't afford their exorbitant fees for the SAME service. Literally, my "diagnostic mammography " appt was exactly what I had done in years past during my regular annual screenings. Disappointing. read more

I have gone here and technician was such a "know it all" and her attitude was so pushy and rude that it made me never want to go back! Also, the first mammogram that I had here - I think they made an error and that they overpressed! If I go back I will INSIST that I will only have an ultrasound. read more

I am only docking a star because the Main Dr. towards the end of my visit made me feel uncomfortable/a little bit upset. I had to go in for an ultrasound due to a possible "bad" lump found in my breast during a basic yearly lady physical. Im a worry wart and I have to say the thought of even having to get this done intimidated me. 1st big plus--they got me scheduled for an appointment only 3 days out from my call. They had early hours so I was able to sneak in without having to worry about taking time off for work. 2nd plus - the lobby/waiting room. It was spacious, warmly lit with plenty of seating that accounted for possible privacy needed. The staff were friendly and helpful with check-in, and the provided tea & coffee in cute little tea-cups while you waited. I felt comfortable and immediately more at ease while waiting there. 3rd plus - the offer you heated dressing gowns! No need to be chilly in your giant backless robe while waiting for the dr. My only negative experience was the dr herself. Im pretty young for this sort of affair so she seemed put out that I was even bothering to waste her time "since it isn't that common for my age group." Both me & my Dr. feel like its better to be safe than sorry, and Im paying you out the nose for this. Why be snarky? (Granted it was 7 am, and maybe she is just not a morning person). She also seemed a little put out with my piercings, and after verifying everything was ok sent me on my way. I would for sure go back when mammograms or any other issues arise calling for their services though. All and all it was professional, clean and a nice atmosphere for a process that can be quite scary for women. read more

Am an elderly woman who has had some breast issues. I travel about 15 miles just to go to The Breast Center. They are friendly, punctual, professional and caring. You can get a mammogram anywhere but if you like being treated like a person not a patient, you are not condescended to because you are older, and if a warm robe just tops things off then get your annual or any other appt. here. read more

I'm 34 and have been here several times for an "on watch" issue. Never once have I felt that I was a nuisance. I have always felt comfortable because the staff is incredibly caring and treats you like it's your first time in every time. They are informative about the process and while it's not my idea of a great day I don't feel violated or uncomfortable during or after. I haven't never been anywhere else but I can't imagine them doing a better job when it comes to serving their patients. During my last appointment I had a Biopsy done and while that is a scary as hell procedure the stress and nerves were lessened because of the incredible staff. They put up with my bad jokes and didn't comment about my profuse sweating. Once the procedure was over I was handled with the utmost care and given exact detail on what to expect afterward. They even called the day after just to ensure I was doing well and didn't have any questions. I really can't say enough about them. From the tea and coffee in the lobby to the heated gown, to the results that I got before I left, the whole experience was top-notch. I first visited the center last September for a first mammogram after I turned 40. The office is lovely and inviting, and the staff are great. The next day, I got a call saying that they found a lump, and wanted me to come in the next day for an ultrasound. They reassured me that it happens quite frequently, and they just wanted to get a better look. To make a long story short, within a few days they had done a biopsy and determined that is was a benign lump. A few months later, I opted to have the lump removed. The entire process was very emotional, and the staff at Valley was extremely supportive. The doctor was amazing, and I would recommend this center to everyone. read more

I've had several annual exams here, everyone is really friendly and kind. I am only docking a star because once somewhere between the front desk and the back my paperwork was lost and I was left in the waiting room for an extended period. There was not a clock in the immediate area (one was around the corner but I did not see it) and after seeing the same techs come and get patient after patient without be acknowledged I finally asked one what time it was and found I had been sitting there for over an hour. They apologized profusely and the manager called me after to personally apologize. They had a printer malfunction. I was just disappointed that when the tech came out and got 3 different women it didn't click with them that something was up. read more
