I've sent all my teacher friends to Dr. Auerbach. His office is clean, big, and well-staffed. The equipment is the most technologically advanced that I've ever seen. Also (and this is key), it's soooooo easy to use your UFT dental coverage here! All you need is your social security number and your file number. You won't have to pay a dime out of pocket, even if you have 12 cavities in your mouth. I also love the goody bags that they always send me away with. Electric toothbrush? Awesome!

Patience from a dentist is hard to find now that every dentist has multiple bookings and they jump from treatment room to treatment room. Dr Mathe has 3 stations set up but he only works with one patient at a time. Maybe they will prep the next patient in the next room but no back and forth. I have kids. One, which was terrified of the dentist, now goes without issues to Dr. Mathe. Previously he was afraid to open his mouth to other dentists. Dr. Mathe explains and talks to kids at their level and makes it a positive experience and is therefore able to actually do a proper cleaning and treatment. Give Dr. Mathe a try and you wont want to move so far away that you can't drive back for appointments. We have all new doctors at our new home but we kept our Dentist the same. Your mouth, your health and your wallet are exposed. Dr. Marks is the one dentist I can count on to always Look out for my best interest. He never makes me wait, yet his office is always full. What a HUGE mistake it was. There was extremely long wait, and there was also a miscommunication between the dentists (Dr. Marks and Dr. Olga who is an associate). While I was there only for the preventative routine, Dr. Marks came in and out of the office while cleaning my teeth. The cleaning itself was VERY ROUGH and aggressive without any care. The whole procedure took less than 3 minutes. I've visited many dentist offices, but never have I ever had this type of a unfair treatment. There are many fake reviews out there in Yelp these days, but please read this one review and be mindful whom you choose as your dentist, even for something simple as a dental cleaning!

Dr. Boukas is the best, hands down. Him, and his predecessor, have been my dentist since I was a…read morechild. He was my father's dentist as well as is currently my uncle's, cousin's, family friends, etc., and all of our smiles are proof of his expertise. Due to him, when I went away for school upstate - I had such a trust in dentists. Unfortunately, this resulted in my having unnecessary work done by a zealous dentist that was primarily interested in the $$. Then, I went to another dentist who fixed the prior dentists work, but then left me with a crown that has a gap in it (that he said was normal) that has hurt for two years, and has turned into a lot of scar tissue in my gums. Of course Dr. Boukas was disappointed to see that this had been done, but c'est la vie. Dr. Boukas is, and always has been very thorough in his diagnoses. He explains what has happened, why it has happened, what needs to be done, and the care afterward. My significant other (who refused to go to the other dentist upstate for a cleaning after my experience) several months back ended up with a gum infection due to plaque (yuck). It was his first time seeing Dr. Boukas, and Mr. Picky Pants was thoroughly impressed with him, his diagnosis, treatment plan, and let's just get you right attitude. He was fixed in two visits; One to clean out the infection, and the second, for a more thorough cleaning frankly. So, you can take his unbiased opinion as well. To anyone that is looking for the best dentist, with both current knowledge, and techniques, as well as old school experience, Dr. Boukas is your man. He may be no frills, but is clean, attentive, knowledgeable, and that should be exactly what you are looking for. To boot, he was always great with me as a kid, and my lack of cavities are proof. I didn't have my first cavity until I went upstate for college... So, he is child/kid friendly, and just knows his craft very, very well. When I finally found Dr. Dumanian, after one visit I knew I would be returning. She was not the first dentist to tell me I was grinding my teeth at night, but the first dentist who actually told me I needed a night guard. Because of her advice she literally saved my teeth! I have been lucky enough to not have many dental issues besides the grinding, but some people I have recommended to her have not been that lucky. A family member of mine saw doctor Dumanian for the first time after seeing a terrible dentist for decades, and she had to fix almost every single tooth in his mouth. He is now towards the end of his dental journey and could not be happier. She fixed what needed to be fixed, recommended him to some excellent specialists, and did some cosmetic work as well. He has perfect teeth now. In his words, she is a "perfectionist," which is exactly what you want in a dentist. The hygienist is also incredible. I personally never liked cleanings before she started cleaning my teeth because I'm used to pain, but she numbs you perfectly (no needles--don't worry just a gel) before she gets your mouth 100% clean. She also has an incredibly kind and gentle bedside manner, which is great for everyone but especially those people who tend to get nervous at the dentist. I always feel at ease in that office. Dr. Dumanian and her staff are the most brilliant, professional and kind people I have ever had the honor of letting care for my mouth. I honestly feel as if Dr. Dumanian, the hygienist and even the receptionist genuinely care about me.
