Frankly, I don't understand it either. I have reached out to get my $45 back. I felt that this may have been a scam, and I'm pretty sure it is since everyone else's reviews had them meeting up at other places while the confirmation I received said to meet up at the address provided, which is literally someone's house. Sorry for busting in your weekend, room mate. But I definitely want a refund since I was able to book and pay for a tour that wasn't going to happen due to the tour guide being "out of town".

However, I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the park's turtle advertising. There is an overwhelmingly large amount of signs warning drivers about turtle crossings. And yet... not a single turtle. What I did see, though, was an impressive number of men (some shirtless) with backpacks emerging from various wooded areas. More backpack guys than wildlife. Significantly more. I came for turtles. I like turtles. The park itself is lovely, but the turtle-to-sign ratio is wildly misleading. Feels a bit like a marketing campaign. A ruse, if you will. My boyfriend was so excited about the possibility of turtles. Then there were no turtles. Thanks, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. You made my boyfriend cry.

Today waited for the heavy rain to cease then took a walk with my wife along the paved trail through the beautiful coconut trees and colorful plants with chirping birds. There is not a plant or tree identifier placard, so use Google to know what you are looking at. Throughout the garden, there are several exercise stations with instructions to test your fitness abilities. The garden borders a canal loaded with active ducks and iguanas.

I was a rookie and didn't bring any bug spray, so I couldn't really risk sitting around the water--the mosquitos instantly come out to bite. This is a beautiful park and is regularly hosting great events! There is parking along all of the…read moresides of the park but it's also very walkable from surrounding neighborhoods. The park is well maintained, from the foliage and landscaping to the baseball field and the skate park! This lovely city park also houses one of my absolute favorite trees (does everyone not have a favorite tree?). If you're looking for a nice place for a picnic there are plenty of covered picnic areas as well! Some of my favorite events that take place here are the Dania Beach Arts & Seafood Festival in April, the regular Dania Beach Flea Market, and the Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show! I would highly recommend this park if your looking for a wonderful afternoon outdoors!

You can see all of the mansions and the yachts that pass by. I recently saw a huge yacht with a man at the helm dressed like George Washington. I thought that was fantastic! It is one of the best places to. visit when in South Florida. I've always wanted to take a ride on the gondola boats. I know it's not the same as in Venice. They are motorized and not operated by rowing one long oar. Viewing the Intercostal waterway from Hugh Taylor Birch park is one of my favorite things to do. I can bring the dogs along, there are plenty of picnic benches, and you can park along the side of the road. It's great watching while having a picnic.

Love taking the water taxi up and down the intracoastal and stopping at various bars and restaurants especially Bokampers and Le Tub. Lots of great memories as a child and now as an adult finding sandbars in secluded areas and fishing for sport. Yachts everywhere you look but keep an eye out for those endangered manatees and slow down your boat.

This neighborhood park in Hollywood was named in honor of Salvatore "Sal" Oliveri (June 11,…read more1928~April 27, 2019). Sal was born in Queens, New York. In 1960 he moved to Hollywood, Fl with his wife Maria where the couple would reside for the next 59 years. Sal worked as an insurance advisor with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 32 years. He served his city as Mayor (1990-1992) and Commissioner (1998-2008). He was also involved with many community service and civic organizations including the Hollywood Hills Civic Association, President; Interfaith Council, President and Board Member; Kiwanis Club, Elks, Knights of Columbus and Member of the Nativity Catholic Church. This park was created out of land sold to the city by a nearby church. While Sal was still alive he petitioned to have this soon to be built park in his community named after him. People in the community groups he served in wrote letters of support. In late 2008 Hollywood named the new Veterans Park at 4701 Tyler St. after Oliveri in honor of his longtime service to the community. Oliveri said he was humbled by the gesture. During the opening of the park ceremony he said "I feel like it is a fitting final chapter to my loving service to the city of Hollywood. It means a lot to me to share this joy with so many of my neighbors, friends, and supporters." Sal Oliveri Veterans Park is completely fenced in which is a great safety feature for children. The parking lot has room for around three cars. I love that this park has a restroom. Other park amenities include a water fountain and bottle refiling station, metal roof picnic shelter with tables, and playground structures with shade coverings on artificial turf. There are also benches and tables, a walking path, and an asphalt hopscotch board. The water feature splash pad with a palm tree is currently closed for repairs. The park has a lot of large trees providing shade and beauty to the park. I even saw a monk parakeet in one of them. This is a great recreational space for play, exercise, and nature.
