When I first pulled in, they had a pretty large free parking garage which was super helpful! They have numerous rooms for meeting spaces, lots of computers, and multiple info. desk areas where people are available to help you if you need it. They also have a lot of resources for audiobooks online. The only issue is some of them can take a while to become available...Overall, I am a little bit sad I am just now coming to visit this library! I feel like I have been missing out! You can use the printers with a library card for 10 free prints a day (they are $0.15 each so up to $1.50/day). I will say just like with any place you need to be aware of your surroundings! There were a couple of times I was making sure I kept an eye out, but luckily there are a lot of people around as well as a security guard that makes his rounds. This made me feel super safe! The restrooms were also relatively clean!

Her presence is such a joy and you can tell she really loves children. Throughout the music and movement portion, along with story time, your child will be introduced to basic concepts such as ABC's, colors and numbers, arts and crafts, dancing, songs, foreign language and more. The consistency and repetition helps the child remember the songs so they can participate more easily. It's very hands on and thoughtfully planned. We have noticed a big growth in attendance over the last few months so it can be a bit overwhelming when the class has reached full capacity. I recommend getting there early, if you can, to ensure you have a spot. It's that popular!! I really wish Forsyth county library would model their story time after this, I feel like this should be the standard and as a result more children would be thriving. Having the exposure to a bilingual teacher who teaches Spanish in a fun way has been so appreciated. The children section of the library itself is separated and offers toys for the children to play with. It's organized in a way that makes it easy to find books and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The only thing different in this county vs. Forsyth, is if you wanted something printed you will need to be prepared to pay, whereas in Forsyth county, your first 10 pages are free. Their sensory garden, which was opened within the last year, really fell short in my opinion as to what I was expecting. Sometimes it seems like people who design these things have no experience with what we are truly in need of or what's developmentally appropriate or helpful for engagement of the senses. It's a big flop, we visited it one time and that was enough. Doesn't help that there is no shade and it's next to a loud busy road. Not much or a garden experience either. Just hot pieces of metal and plastic to look at that feels more artistic than sensory. You'll see what I mean if you visit. Overall the classes are where it's at, not just for children but adults too! So come here for that if you want to participate in free offerings and meet like minded people in your community!

I visited the Jamestown Public Library after I decided that I wanted to begin reading again. I had…read morenot been to a library in years and I was very skeptical about the selection this historic building would have. I was very pleasantly surprised! I stopped by one evening and as soon as I walked in it was like going back in time in the best way possible. This building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I was helped by the library manager, Jim, and he was very friendly and helpful. He explained that the building was built in 1915 and was originally a school for the area. After being used for years it was almost torn down, but the alumni saved it from destruction and it was turned into a public library. There is a big array of books in all different genres and subjects. I saw some new releases I want to read as well as classics and everything in between. It was great to explore what they had in such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Jim let me know about book clubs they have, children's story times and that they offer e-Books, DVDs, and audiobooks too. He was very helpful and informative. I was able to make my selection and was given my own library card and saw that they still use the nostalgic stamps when you check your books out! I left with my book, my new library card, and a new excitement for reading!

There are three things that I pay attention to when visiting a library, (1) the WiFi, (2) service to patrons, & (3) sitting space. As far as Jamestown Public Library fares, (1) the WiFi was shoddy. I had to reconnect at least 5x (which didn't take long but still), (2) the receptionist halfway spoke to me when I walked in so the service was "meh." I later saw other librarians who asked if I needed help so that was nice. Lastly, (3) I sat in the corner at a table. The area had ok lighting and there were plugs available for my computer and phone. It's important to not that library is sort of old fashioned so don't expect too much.

Upon entrance to the library, there is a small hallway where you can purchase old books and magazines too. I picked up 3 Spanish-themed magazines to help me brush up on Spanish and they were just $.25 a piece. Talk about a great deal. Stop by and check it out sometime. Libraries are too underused in this day and age and it's free for the public!

The absolute worst nursing program in America…read more Very unprofessional, known for producing cheaters on the NCLEX, professors do not teach, and give back to back 100 questions exams, pop quizzes and expects students to score above 80%. If you fail one exam you are out of the program and they take your money and you're not allowed to be readmitted to the program. Do not invest your time, resources, or energy in pursuing WSSU Nursing program.

If you need a course that is not offered, they will try to open something up! There is plenty of parking! There is computer support available for many hours per day free and with no appointment in the Sci./tech. bldg. The bookstore people are helpful. I have found the instructors to be encouraging and capable in their roles. I love the students . I am in my 3rd semester and have yet to meet anyone who was anything but nice to be with. The student lounge is spacious and comfortable. Lots of elevators all over for when you are too tired to climb. Counselors are available without appointment in the Medlin Center to help with finding and scheduling courses. And the campus is just across the road from the Y! The campus is convenient to super-highways, which is a plus. They offer on-line, hybrid, and in-class courses to accommodate the schedules of adult learners. We were looking to get a library card to check out books and use the online services that most…read morelibraries offer, such as music and movies. For some reason even though this branch has been around since dirt was invented it was not on Yelp. We walked in and talked to the librarians who, when we told them we wanted to get library cards, perked up and were very excited. It was nothing to get the cards, we showed our IDs selected an online PIN, and gave an email address. We got the cards and walked around to see a few authors that I had read in the past and wanted to see about getting into them again as well as a lot of DVDs to check out if you wanted. There was a kids section as well for those who have young ones and a few computers and printers. When we were wandering I saw this box with the author that I was interested in reading his books again and it said (his name and $5.00). I called to the libarian and she said that patrions will donate books for sale. I asked, where are the books?" and she said that box, so I said oh they are $5.00 each and she said no, the whole box....what the what...!!!! I bought the box of course and it had 10 hardback books in great condition and only two I had read....bargain...! Who knew you could find things like this at a library. Anyway I am in process of setting up my online accounts so I get the music and other items offered for free.
