My hubby had a very strong bourbon and water and I had a cream, liquor, vodka drink that was very tasty, similar to a White Russian. At around 6 pm chef Todd began by telling us his history and passion for cooking inspired by his grandmothers as he prepared our appetizers. I am a bit fuzzy on the details of the ingredients of all the dishes since I fell later that evening, broke my hip and shoulder and spent the next 6 days in the hospital but I'll do my best, keeping in mind all 4 courses were expectional. Appetizer was a baked pear with goat cheese and a crostini with cranberry goat cheese, walnuts and honey drizzle. Second course was a bean soup and corn bread. Main course was pot roast, carrots, potatoes and mushrooms. Mine was super tender and very flavorful. Mu husbands portion had a lot of fat but what he could eat was tasty. And for dessert he served bananas foster bread pudding. We were given a sample of the bread pudding upon arrival to whet our appetites and it sure did. The whole experience was first class; food, service, cocktails, interaction with the chef, owner and wait staff, atmosphere was just plain fun, entertaining and satisfying. We were there about 2 hours. Street parking, comfortable setting and a unique dinning experience. I highly recommend for a special occasion. It is in a downtown like portion of new Albany so you will need to street park. The few times I've went they have had a board and you punch buggie like car parked right in front of the entrance of this location. So that may be a good guide on where to park. In the past I had sampled some of the charcuterie and the cheeses, nuts and snacks in them are all very fresh and tasty. My wife had mentioned maybe having them cater our next big event. We recently stopped back in as my wife wanted to buy a bottle of a wine. She has never been a big wine drinker but she is starting to dip her toes into the wine world. At events with friends like bunco she has been trying some and likes it. So she came in here a novice looking for a recommendation on a good white wine that is a good start for someone who usually does not drink wine. The lady at the counter brought another gentleman who promptly suggested White Loire wine (vouvray). She gladly took his advice. I'm gonna be honest here for a second. There wasn't any prices listed that I could see. So I was kinda nervous what the damage was gonna be for a bottle. The dude could of really taken advantage of a few wine novices. However when the lady rung us up it was only $26. So not bad at all. The Bourbon I frequent is more than that. So no complaints here. After a few days my wife finally popped the wine cork. Which was a hilarious sight. As stated a few times already. She is new to the wine game. So we didn't have a wine cork. We used a steak knife and a some well timed and maneuvered rotations and viola the bottle came open. She really enjoyed the taste and I took a sample. I'm a Bourbon man and not much on wines. But it was solid. She was extremely satisfied overall. So we had a really god experience and a great customer service experience. They very much could of swindled us or tried and upsell us a crazy expensive bottle and changed the whole experience. Overall really nice place. Good cheese and snacks and a nice wine selection.

And the support and ease of communicating, I mention because if I was having a wedding knowing the caterer is very easy to get ahold of. And please, I'm disabled from being trapped under 3 stories when my New Orleans condo collapsed during Hurricane Katrina. Over 100 surgeries later I'm still alive and just think cutting things like Meals on Wheels will actually cost Medicaid so much more to pay for it nursing home. And there's the dignity of still living in my own home. I filed my first tax return at age 12 and worked even in college and later law school. Please, when you're thinking or hearing things about people and disability please remember we all paid into the disability insurance program and if I could, I would be out there working right now, but physically, I just can't do it (sorry these cuts that are coming. Have me very worried on how I'm going to pay my bills and eat).

He finally showed up at 3:00 for a 4:00 wedding, Chilled items were delivered at 10:00 am which the caterer knew had to be put on ice which he was responsible for and were at room temperature by the time he got there. To add insult to injury he charged us a last minute charge of $600 which was basically for ice and a few sliced lemons and limes. Moving on to the food. The food he served was nothing like what we tasted at his kitchen when we hired him. The beef tenderloin was described by one person as beef jerky. I wouldn't go that far but it was certainly not the tender moist pink beef tenderloin we had enjoyed. But some people never tasted it. He ran out of appetizers and food way before everyone was served. I'm not talking seconds. I'm talking their 1st courses. Frankly they didn't miss anything because again unlike our previous experience all the food was tasteless and bland. To compound his poor catering service even more, he then left the wedding. That's right left way early in the evening. Got in his vehicle and took off just after his horrible food serving. We immeditely called him on his cell phone and told him to get his a** back with some food to feed those who were still unfed. He begrudgedly came back with Dominos pizza which he sat on a table in the rain. Absolutely worthless and yet we paid top dollar for Domino's Pizza as his way to feed our hungry unfed guest. Total absolute disaster. Look elsewhere even though he has a great reputation around town. Why take the chance. He apparently has grown too big to handle his catering the way he once did. I did email him with specific questions regarding his poor service to give him the opportunity to respond before I posted our experience. I also spoke to his personal friends, who I know told him my feelings and I ran into his staff at another event after ours and expressed my total displeasure with his catering to share with him.
