This is out of control wrong!!!!! We have used takeout taxi before and our food has always arrived. Today 4-2-15 our stomachs remain empty and our card was charged/ with a delivery charge and we were given an arrival time. We have nothing to show for it. After noticing that it had been a really really long time we went to call takeout taxi and they are now closed. They close at ten and we put our order in at 9:10. It is now 11:10. We called to the restaurant ( ramsies) to see if the food was picked up only to find out there have been no takeout orders in the past few hours put in. Not only does this company have our info but we are so angry. We had to call the restaurant and order our food again and Pay for it again and go and pick it up hours later! This is bad service and faulty. Never ever again! Take note and just drive there yourselves. There is nothing worse than and lie regarding food. read more

Our food arrived two hours after we ordered it and it was nasty and inedible. Order #1757618 We placed an order at 7:19 and expected the hour estimated delivery time. We got a text after that hour had since elapsed that it would be another 20/30 minutes. Ok, I guess. But we were starting to not really want the food anymore. After that text time had elapsed, I called to cancel the order. We did not want the food anymore. I just wanted a refund. I was refused (customer svc: Pride?). I was told I could not cancel and that I could not get a refund. I asked to speak to a manager (Daylin?). Same thing. No refund. No cancel. Nothing he could do. He said that he would escalate the issue to my local office. I asked for that number/email to follow up in case they didn't get back to me. I was refused this info and told to just call the same number back. The food arrived two hours after ordering. The pasta was soggy and gross. It went into the garbage. Well... no contact. So I called back the next night. I spoke to a girl (Kim?) that was really helpful and understanding. She said I should have gotten a refund that night. Unfortunately since it was the next night she could not do it but would get her manager. Daylin came back on. Was somewhat nicer this time and said he would escalate (again). This time he did give me this email address. No contact again. No surprise either. It is absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced for something like this. There are a lot of Delivery options available. The fact that I couldn't cancel my order or get a refund for food that was late and bad is inexcusable. Especially in a new and competitive market. I'm wondering if this is even a valid email. I will continue to try to make contact just on principle. And I will be spreading the word on this service to every venue that I can. read more

This is for the Lexington, KY location since they do not have their own yelp page. I placed an order for Local Taco at 7:15pm and the website said the order would be delivered between 30-60 minutes depending on traffic, restaurant wait time, etc. Well, I did not get my order until 8:45pm. The driver got to the restaurant at 8:04pm. I called takeout taxi to see what was going on with my order. So, the woman on the phone informed me that the driver had picked up another order and delivered it before mine. Which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that my order was already late and the website still said the driver was at local taco. There really needs to be a better system for order delivery. If drivers are picking up multiple orders, the website should let the customer know or at least be able to see their location so they have some idea where their order is. The prices are much higher than the actual restaurant and they tack on fees and require you to tip the driver. I would be fine with tipping drivers who follow the time that was given when you place an order, which did not happen. read more

I use food delivery services when I travel, and I have lowered expectations in general. I was quoted 30-60 minutes but it ended up being closer to 90-100 when my food arrived. Had I been starving or in a hurry, this would have been a problem. But I was just tired and too lazy to leave my hotel room, so I was willing to wait. Minus 2 stars for inaccurate time quoted, not proving a receipt, or, most importantly, not bringing silverware or napkins with my food. I used the service for the fourth time today. I agree with the others, I never had delivery on time. Once I waited 90 minutes. Once, they blamed the restaurant, another time they said the driver was in traffic for 30 minutes. Their website doesn't explain how they work, how many in the fleet, etc. it makes sense that ordering at dinner time drivers might deal with lots of traffic. Also, Louisville Metro is sprawling! There are add-one for gas, service charge and a tip of 15% for orders over $40, but I believe that is negotiable once you get to the credit card page. Now for the five star news. My food has arrived hot and orders were correct. I did not get utensils; I advise asking for this when you place the order. The drivers have been very nice. But the best part is that when I am stuck at home or don't want to drive or cook, I don't have to have pizza or greasy Chinese food! They have some very good restaurants on their list, and a good variety of options. I will continue to use them, I just will just order early and be patient! read more

Awful. The food arrived within an 1 1/2 like they said, and it was hot. So there's the positive. However, they charged me 4 (read it, FOUR) times on my credit card. I attempted to use one card once, but it wasn't taken, so I used my older card. Turns out, it charged the original card 3 times, and the newer one (that was approved) once. I will be taking action against this if it isn't resolved quickly. My review will remain a 1, although unfortunate it can't go lower. read more

Waited for my food, kept getting text messages and emails that my order was confirmed, my order has been placed, the driver was at the restaurant, the driver was on their way and my food was delivered. Sadly, my food was not delivered. When I called the number given I was told the address and phone number were wrong and my order would not be arriving and they did not have time to argue with me. Returned home from a movie around 9:30 or so and wanted to order a late dinner. Logged on to Mr. Delivery (formerly Takeouttaxi) and ordered from Anselmo's who showed a closing time of 11:00pm. We placed our order at about 10:30 and it WAS confirmed by Mr. Delivery and, according to Mrdelivery.com, was confirmed by the restaurant as well. And, we waited. After about an hour I started wondering where our order was and went on the Mrdelivery.com website where I found our order listed as "cancelled"! No notification, nothing. And this, AFTER, they had confirmed our order and charged my card. I called Mr. Delivery and was told the restaurant was closed to take-out orders at the time of our order - no explanation, or real concern, as to why Mr. Delivery CONFIRMED our order. Nor was there any concern with making reparations. Just "my apologies" over and over again. Be careful with this service. I've used them numerous times but will only do so in a pinch from now on. read more

Very disappointed... Last weekend I ordered Yankee Noodle and was told it would be an hour plus before it would arrive. When my food arrived it wasn't long before I realized my $60 order was short an entree. I called takeout taxi to see where it was and she said she'll call me back... In my head I'm thinking, I just paid $7 for delivery, and another tip was included due to the amount, plus I tipped the driver... Ugh... She called me back and said the restaurant manager said everything was given to the driver and the driver said he gave me everything.. She explained the problem was that Yankee Noodle was closing and Takeout Taxis's manager wasn't in but will call me Monday. In the hospital for a long stay and was tired of the hospital food so i ordered from cheesecake factory through takeout taxi. Food was ordered at 5:30pm and given a delivery time of 6:30pm. Food did not arrive until 7:05pm. Food was cold and the bags smelled like cigarette smoke. Between the extra fees on the food and delivery fees, this service is WAY OVERPRICED! Ordered online at 7pm yesterday and was given the normal 30-60 minutes. I expected 60, but after 90 minutes, we started to worry. I tried repeatedly to contact the business. I used the 'contact us' portion of their website, I emailed them and I called multiple times. It was obvious that someone was picking up the phone and immediately hanging up. I triple checked the information we provided, and it was all correct. Needless to say, the food NEVER arrived. He called back to his manager at my door and then advised me sorry nothing he could do. So he got tipped plus the $7 he didn't have to give me. I called them and they advised me that the driver told them I shorted them $20 even though I paid w a $100 bill. If you're willing to pay all the extra charges for convenience take out taxi can be a good option. There can be a large variance in waiting time but it is usually about an hour. They are good about correcting any mistakes they make in an order. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. The food was warm but it took 2 hours to get to us, was missing items. Had to spend 10 minutes on the phone with the driver because he didn't know how to use GPS. After fee's my total was almost double. The fee's they charge are not worth it at all. read more

I love it, I use it all the time! For a few bucks more, I can get a meal from some really great restaurants without having to fight traffic to pickup. We've been using takeout taxi for a few years now and enjoy it! Service can be slow sometimes, taking longer than the time we're quoted, but generally our food is hot a fresh as much as it can be for takeout! It will never be restaurant quality, but it's pretty close and it saves us a trip across town(and fighting crowds/finding parking) downtown. read more

Hi, I attempted to send this to you via your "Contact us" section on your website but was met with the error page "Whoops! The page you requested could not be found." So I am posting it on alternate venues instead. I was wondering how one would go about removing their restaurant from your delivery options. The restaurant I work for was never asked to have the menu as an option for Takeout Taxi. The menu you have is not current and I constantly have to tell the people doing your orders that items have been off the menu for nearly a year. Takeout orders for your service consistently sit for 30 minutes to an hour after they are prepared before they are picked up. I once had to keep my restaurant open an additional half hour after closing because an order had yet to be picked up. I can't imagine that the quality, preparation, and timing of the food is preserved by your drivers. Not to mention your driver's cars and timing meeting health code requirements... You charge 20% more for our food AND recommend customers tip their driver 15-20%. Meanwhile, I am waiting on 20 people in my bar while making drinks for the other 50 people in my dining room on a Friday night, I have to stand on the phone for five minutes and neglect my customers while taking an $80.00 carry out order for your service, an additional five minutes ensuring that the food is correct once it is prepared and bagging it up. Then I have a nice 45 minutes respite where the food is not picked up and think "huh, must be Takeout Taxi again, I told them it would only take 20 minutes for that order." When the food is finally picked up, I get stiffed on the tip despite the fact that taking and putting this order together took me away from taking care of my other customers. Meanwhile, the customers receiving the food you picked up are paying $96 for $80 worth of food AND are expected to tip your delivery drivers (??) for cold food that was ready 45 minutes before it was picked up and possibly an hour or more before they received it. This then becomes a poor reflection on the restaurant I am in, even though we never approved having your service deliver our food. I am thankful that you have "Takeout Taxi" on your delivery driver's credit cards so I always know exactly who was responsible for my unpleasant experience. So, I ask again, how does one go about removing their restaurant from your website and delivery options? read more

Ordered from Mellow Mushroom at 6:15 and got the food approx. 8:15...45 minute estimate. Called about 25 minutes before it was delivered, and the person on the phone (real nice by the way) blamed the delay on Mellow Mushroom. I said I understood and appreciated the update. After I spent 10 minutes on the phone giving their delivery guy directions the entire way from the restaurant, he finally arrived. (At one point, I thought I was part of a joke because the process was so labored.) After opening up the boxes, it was evident that the delivery was the problem and not the restaurant. The pizza had been sitting for some time and the bread for the bruschetta was just sad. Unfortunately, it is a bad reflection on Mellow Mushroom as well to leave food sitting for so long. Although they do have a good selection of restaurants they nickel and dime you to death. There are several different charges and it just seems to be so expensive it's really hard to order from there very often. So I'm doing this review to take advantage of the $12 discount. Also they force you to do a 15% tip and they base the 15% off not only the food but also the fees and taxes and everything else. read more
