****Week 1 Review***** This is my initial review, after 1 week of 1200 calorie meals. **Pros** The food is delicious! It's like having your own personal chef. To make great food is a challenge but to make great food reheated is amazing. The results are amazing. I feel more energetic and I've lost 4.4 lbs in 1 week!! The first few days your body will be in shock from less, yet better food, But after that the cravings diminish and the food is filling. Your initial thought will be "no way this is enough food!" but it is and I feel amazing. **Cons** Communication. The website is lacking in communication,as is the representative when you sign up. I didn't know, what day they take out the payments, what time the food would be delivered, etc. Yes, these seem like little things but when you work 2-midnight and the food doesn't get delivered till 3pm, it's kind of a big deal to know. Also when you're not wealthy and $140 comes out of your account on Thurs and then again on Monday, it's kind of a big deal, if you didn't know it was prepay for the week. Also when you call, you speak to a secretary (no big) but when you tell the secretary to have the representative call you back during certain hours due to a weird schedule and kindof a big deal if my phone rings between certain hours and they completely disregard those times and call when they want....that's not cool. In conclusion, I LOVE the food, I LOVE the weight loss but PLEASE work on customer service and communication, that's what makes you a business. read more

Before Home Cuisine, I was shopping and cooking to prepare meals for the week on one day. I was exhausted, and my whole foods meals may have been edible by the end of the week, but they weren't very palatable. I thought there had to be a better way. I researched online with the regional and national meal services. Their meals are frozen and often full of the preservatives and sugars I was trying to avoid. Maybe someone local provides such a service. Google search lead me to Home Cuisine. After Home Cuisine, I pick up meals twice a week; thus, they are fresh and tasty all week long. I'm no longer exhausted with meal planning, shopping and cooking all in one day. I chose the vegetarian meal plan (2000-3000 calories per day) even though I'm not a vegetarian because the menus more closely resembled the whole foods meals I would make. I sometimes add tuna or souse-vide chicken to my meals. I find it very easy. I feel better. I sleep better. I meditate more deeply and as an added bonus I'm losing the weight I need to lose. I've been eating Home Cuisine meals for six weeks and have lost 18 pounds. The owners, Sandy and Mae Pike, mother and daughter, are very experienced and personable. Day 4 of the 22 day (Beyonce) Vegan diet challenge. While looking on the internet for home food delivery services I happened upon Home Cuisine. Over the years I've tried many of the various "national" food meal services. Most had decent food all were expensive. I needed a local company that made the food fresh. After looking on Home Cuisine's web site I noticed they were starting this 22 day vegan challenge, what better way to restart healthy eating. I liked the fact that the food was made fresh and you either picked up your meals at a local Rainbow Blossom store or for a small fee could have it delivered to your home or office. At day four I have found all the meals delicious and filling. Initially I thought the meals looked small, but once out of the containers and heated or eaten cold all had more than enough food. I have eaten things that I never heard of or eaten, but all are good. I pick up my meals twice a week so I know they are as fresh as they can be. It hasn't been difficult to stick to this plan because I stay away from the grocery store and all the temptations those stores hold. Would I like a bowl of ice cream and a slice of greasy pizza ... you betcha', but, for me, I know I paid for these meals and I will stick to the plan because there really isn't any reason to go grocery shopping I have everything I need. I think that Home Cuisine offers a nice variety of meal plans, I do wish they offered a lunch and dinner only plan, perhaps in the future. There are sample menus on the website with prices. All of the meals are very good, some very delicious! I really appreciate the service they provide. I prefer to pick up my meals & you can rely on good service. Ordering is super easy & their website is great. I have recently had some issues with my health which required me to modify my diet-not eat certain veggies. Their website provides a place to make exclusions when ordering. I have spoken with the owners and they are very helpful, nice and have always been dedicated to good service. Home Cuisine has been a lifesaver for me. I suffered an injury a few months ago and became pretty much home-bound for a few weeks. I couldn't walk, much less get out and gather groceries and prepare meals for myself. I turned to Home Cuisine to manage all my meals while I was impaired. Twice a week, they delivered an amazing assortment of daily meals that left me happily satisfied every Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. There was so much variety, and it all tasted so good, I stayed on the program even after I got back on my feet. The meals are never frozen and you could tell a lot of love and fresh ingredients went into the preparation of each one. In the last two months I don't believe I have had the same dish twice. After using several similar companies in California I sought a prepared meal company for a 10-week stay at a hotel in Louisville. I was torn between options until I called Home Cuisine customer support to better understand their location, service, schedule, etc. and was warmly received. I decided to pick up my meals at a local Rainbow Blossom market and they were neatly packaged, labeled, dated, and always on time. The food was exactly what I was hoping for. When my doctor asked me about my eating habits, I had to answer "Those of a ten year old child without adult supervision". I take better care of myself now than ever before.
