We were picked up in a small luxury bus that seated 14 people. Our tour guide was Sheldon and he was absolutely wonderful! He had a cooler filled of water waiting for us on the bus too. Our first stop was Horseshoe Bend. It was so gorgeous there ! The hike to the bend is about 1.5 miles round trip and it's actually up-hill in both directions. It's not bad at all though. There's no shade so I wouldn't like doing it during the summer! It's also a sandy trail so wear appropriate shoes! Our next stop was Glen Canyon Dam. This is where we were given our boxed lunch. The view here was so pretty ! It was nice to sit in the grass and look over the dam during lunch. The boxed lunch was really good too ! It was a turkey sandwich on marbled rye bread, Poor Brothers kettle chips, macaroni or potato salad, and a chocolate chip cookie. Our final stop was Antelope Canyon. We were handed off to another tour company in Page run by the Navajo. We got into the back of their truck and were driven to the canyon. It was about 15 minutes from the tour company. Our guide was great, although I can't remember his name. The canyon itself is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life ! The Navajo guides space the tours out and keep them moving so it's not a clusterf*ck inside. They also take great pictures for you ! I noticed the guide was putting my iPhone on the "chrome" setting and adjusting the brightness. All pictures turned out great ! Make sure to put your phone down and enjoy this place though ! We had plenty of bathroom stops to and from this trip. We stopped at the Cameron Trading Post, so if you're looking for Navajo souvenirs, you're in luck ! I would also recommend bring breakfast or snacks too.

We didn't know that the pick up time would be at 615am from our hotel followed by a 3 hour drive to page, however time flew by! The entire way up, our driver Shelton, shared some awesome history about the regions we were going through. We made plenty of potty breaks along our trek. He took us to horseshoe bend, Glen Canyon Dam and Antelope Slot Canyon. We were provided a rather large lunch too! Overall the trip was an all day experience however it did not seem to drag on as some other tours I have been on. I would highly recommend this tour, even to locals. You will see a side of Arizona that will amaze you!

This little African tent village of four Stout Tents is located within one of the enclosures at Out…read moreof Africa. Hence, the tents have names such as Verunga and Etosha. Each tent has its own bed/beds, linens, extra blankets, towels, dresser, cooler with a pound of ice/gallon of water, as well as large space heater and two battery powered lanterns. Bathroom/restroom are shared, and are both located inside of a separate tent. There is running hot water and flushing toilet, special soap provided to keep the greywater clean. Open fires are not permitted within the enclosure, but there is a lovely propane powered fire pit that provides ambiance and fire for s'mores at night. Camping ware is provided, so just bring your own food to cook. There is a propane powered portable stove as well. Don't expect a BBQ grill, tho. Sam, the porter, makes coffee and cocoa for everyone. A small continental breakfast of fruit and muffins is provided. Highly recommend chatting with him, he is an outdoor survival specialist and teaches classes. Guests are locked into the enclosure at night, and unfortunately cannot wander off to explore. There are some games such as Jenga and Cornhole, but ultimately this little village is ideal for couples just wanting some time to connect. The greatest thing about the experience is all of the incredible animal sounds you get to hear at night while snuggled in your tent...such as lions and wolves. In the morning you awake to the sweet sounds of birds chirping. Throughly enjoyed myself here, and have already done it twice.

Lights are about the same, jump out while you're wet and wave your arms around. I have been here a week and haven't seen any activities like in the past. They used to have pool tournaments once a week it was a really enjoyable group of folks when I visited. Now if you want to play a game of pool. You have to call and have someone come and unlock the pool balls. They used to have corn hole bag toss get togethers as well. I don't see any of those gatherings and meeting new folks like in the past. Im sure it's a difficult task being kid friendly and trying to appeal to us folks that are here to have some adult time and relax. My over all experience this time staying here. What a great camping spot, and amazing hosts! My girlfriend…read moreand I came here the week after the November 2020 elections to get away from everything, on a week that could only be described as "unseasonably cold." It's a beautiful little campground just about 15 minutes away from Uptown Sedona and alongside Oak Creek. We started out with two nights at the site furthest to the right upon entrance, and that backs up to a little pool and cliff. We had some fairly rowdy neighbors who were constantly breaking the rules and seem to have been ejected early, which was greatly appreciated, because rules are important, especially when they are mainly instated to enforce common courtesy to everyone else. The site has only 19 spots, with the majority of them hugging the creek. The others are sort of in the middle of the loop-street and lack views, immediate water-access, and privacy, as they're right out in the middle and cars drive around them. Our last two nights we moved to Site 19, which was perfect. The campsite is small enough so that proximity to the camp host/firewood, and the bathrooms is not an issue, and our spot was furthest from the entrance, and therefore was the most private/secluded. Each spot has a pretty flat spot, usually with partial shade for the tent, a firepit, and a heavy duty picnic table. There are trout in the river, and I hooked one up behind our first spot where there is a wonderfully clear and deep pool, as well as a little cliff that's fun to climb up and around. Dennis, one of the camp hosts, pointed out that there were 6-8 visible trout in the small pool behind Site 10 and so we rushed over there, and he watched us attempt unsuccessfully to lure out the fish, and then came over with a chunk of Velveeta cheese, which he said he always had luck with. We would return to this spot for the next few days and eventually hooked up a few trout, which was great. Everything about this site is great, and I'm just the slightest bit hesitant about raving too highly lest it becomes more difficult to reserve in the future. Great location, great hosts, an extremely clean vault bathroom that smells of Febreeze, a creek full of fish, firewood for sale, and camp hosts that keep the place in amazing condition. 5/5. Would recommend. Would like to return soon.

That is good because the light pollution is low and it also means the stargazing is probably far better than probably wherever you came from. So, for the "tour," you drive out to the middle of nowhere--to a school, actually--then you walk with your group and guides to a field where they have chairs, blankets, and a bunch of massive telescopes set up. The blankets help but dress warm. In fact, dress warmer than you think. With the wind, it was very cold out during our experience. Now, for stargazing purposes, it is definitely better if the moon is not full, and it is also better if it is not cloudy, but nature constantly reminds us who is in control. We had an almost full, extremely bright moon, and plenty of clouds. But we still had a great time checking out the various stars and planets and even the moon itself. If you are able to plan your tour, try to do it when the moon is at its darkest. The entire tour, if you want to call it that, lasts about an hour. It is not a thrill a minute experience but it is educational and, for those into astronomy, fascinating. This is definitely not for younger kids but mature teens might enjoy it. Plus, you almost certainly will see at least one falling star.

They do provide chairs and blankets, which was much appreciated. Like other reviewers, my negative would be the cost. It was $150 each for a one hour presentation. It was a neat experience, but not worth that much in my opinion.

Our host, Hoss, was so funny and accommodating! The campgrounds are absolutely beautiful, with firepits and sectioned campsites, and even actively blooming vineyards. They also have restroom facilities on site, as well as porta potties. Hoss told us about a portal that was on the property, and we had an amazing experience there. Can't wait to return, this is definitely our campsite of choice from now on!

It's pretty cool in the sense that on a good day, a 90-minute drive from Phoenix can make you feel…read moremuch further away than you actually are. Just don't expect a complete change of scenery. This is "high desert", which basically means it's the same old scenery, but more shrubs because it's a good 15 degrees cooler. You are not entirely escaping the summer heat, so if you're that sensitive, move further north. The campground itself is pretty boring. There's not enough open space to do much of anything but sit around and stare into the distance. It is also relatively flat, with no real hiking trails. If you like walking up tall things or participating in open-field sports like soccer and flag football, you will be disappointed. What's cool about this is the stream that flows through. It was 100 degrees out, but suddenly manageable as long as you sat next to the surprisingly cold water under plenty of shade. Walk a little bit upstream and downhill and you'll come across a shallow watering hole that appears to be the main attraction. But if you walk a good mile upstream, braving the terrible, terrible footing that is the seemingly endless off-trail pathway of large rocks, you will be rewarded. There's another large area for swimming, and the majority of campers won't bother going there. At roughly 5 1/2 feet, it's perfect swimming for just about anyone. But yeah...that's cool, but about the only thing (besides making s'mores) you'll really do here. It was cool for a one-night, one-day getaway if you want everyone in your life to leave you alone.
