The best Jeep experience in Sedona with the knowledgeable guide! They know every inch of the the trails, and they know all about the geology, the wildlife the trees, and all the local Sedona history! Early morning tour was great in the summer. It's still cool out in the morning. Thank You!
Highly reccomend a private jeep tour for any Sedona trip! We chose the two our private Li'l Rattler tour and our guide, Colorado Dave was totally awesome! He is very knowledgeable about Sedona and all of its flora and fauna. Trip was not too bumpy- just enough action to take in the stunning mountain views and breathtaking scenery.
We participated in a 2.5 hour private Jeep tour with tour guide CD (Colorado Dave), it was incredible. CD has a great knowledge base to share, we learned history, native plant medicinal uses, and even which homes are owned by celebrities. The Diamondback Gulch tour was exciting, informative and fun. It is extremely rough terrain, choose a different tour if you like a smooth ride. We loved the excitement of this tour and CD made it amazing.
We went on the Lil' Rattler tour this morning with Michael and had a blast! We are so glad we chose this company over the others. We were able to have a more personal experience with our guide and he catered our tour to our family's needs and specific interests. All three of our kids have very different personalities and rarely agree on anything but they all agreed they had a blast on our adventure and all want to do it again! Thank you Michael for an incredible experience!
#ThankfulThursday I am truly thankful for this experience and memories made on this Jeep tour we took in October with my family. We were in AZ for a celebration of life, so we wanted to take a day to have family fun. It was a perfect experience for a group of four aging from 10 years old - 70 touring the beautiful Red Rocks. I can't say enough good things about our experienced guide, Michael G. He knew the trails, history, floral, fauna, ecology, and everything in-between. He accommodated my senior citizen mother in/out of the jeep and was a superb guide. I would highly recommend him, if you are able to pick. The best thing about this tour is that every one is private, unlike other services in the area. A Day in the West is one of the original Jeep tour companies, and it shows by the services they provide. We took the Red Rock tour, which is the mild tour, which is one of the most popular. Just call and ask what they recommend. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy and have fun!

What an amazing and informative lil rattler tour. Richard, our guide, was exceptional in all the best possible ways. We learned about all of the plant life in the desert, animals that live there, backstory of Sedona itself and the desert rock formations. Richard is an amazing photographer as well...took some amazing photos for us and even taught me a cool illusion trick. On our ride back down we got the opportunity to see so many animals. We saw about eight burro deer, jack rabbits, quails, bats, lizards, and a couple vultures. We will definitely be looking back on this tour and the great memories made forever. Shout out to Jodi!
Our tour with Lenny was a highlight of our trip to Sedona! If you're a first-timer in Sedona, give this place a few hours of your time in exchange for an unforgettable experience. Check-in is quick and easy inside the main office, where you meet your tour guide and head straight to their fleet. From there, you're off to one of a handful of routes the company offers. We chose the Diamondback Gulch Jeep Tour, which is marketed as "rugged" and "extreme"--and they weren't lying. We were laughing along the entire bumpy ride as Lenny showed us the best parts of Sedona while rattling off fun facts about the town and its incredible ecosystem. He shared a few must-see local watering holes with us, and ended the tour with a perfect view of a magnificent sunset. Needless to say, the views from the top of the gulch were nothing short of breathtaking. We're so thrilled that we wound up with such a fun and knowledgeable guide. Thanks for a memorable experience!
My wife, In-Laws, and I had an astronomically great time on our Jeep tour with A Day In The West! We opted for the Little Rattler tour/trail route which took us deep in the desert with jaw-dropping views and some light 4-wheeling/crawling. What truly made the experience, though, was our guide Piper. As an Arizona native of over 40 years, his knowledge was second to none! We learned so many neat pieces of information and facts about the surrounding rock formations, native plants, animal species, former Native American tribes in the area, and so much more. On top of it, Piper was funny and energetic, making the ride that much more enjoyable, and very outgoing ensuring we got a great group picture for a Holiday card. I speak for all of us when I say to book your Sedona Jeep tour with A Day In The West and to specifically ask for Piper as your guide!
Five star review WITH A WARNING! We had Beven as our guide for our private tour. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and knew how to make the tour very interesting. Here is the warning. The ride is legitimately BUMPY. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the information and expected a rough ride, but this was a bit over the top and we felt as if we weren't sufficiently aware of HOW rough it would be. We were ok for about an hour and a half - the last hour was just too much for us. I do not want to ding the business for this because I do not feel as if they are advertising falsely about their tours - they are definitely fun and interesting, but you might want to ask them how rough a particular trail is before you go. Perhaps you can see if they can suggest a trail to match your expectations. I do wish I had asked more questions before booking the tour I booked. Don't be shy about this and I am sure you will enjoy your tour with a Day in the West.
My family of six booked a two hour jeep tour with this business. They called to let us know the planned route was too unsafe due to recent snow & rain, but they had an alternate location we could ride. We went for it. Our tour started timely at 3:30 pm. It was a perfect time to ride because lighting was incredible. We caught the sunset, too. Our guide Firefox was informative, funny and gracious. My four teen kids, husband and I had a ball! Lots of laughter. I recommend dress warm if doing this tour during winter. If it is muddy, your shoes can get dirty. We event through Boynton Canyon. We had a great time on the "A Day in the West Jeep Tour " . I don't use Groupons very often but we saved a lot but book your trip a week out or prices jump quickly. We did the Rattlesnake Gulch tour which is one of their more aggressive Jeep tours with lots of steep climbs and descents which the kids love. I would not recommend this specific trip for older people that don't like to get bounced all over the place. Middle school boys and teenagers love it. Nolan our guide was a hoot, great driver, explained the local history and plant life, and is a Star Wars fan also. The kids spent more time testing his Star Wars knowledge .

This has got to be one of the best tours in Sedona. I admit that we didn't pick anyone else or try them out. That doesn't matter. The tour guide was excellent!! She took us to all of the important stops. Unique things were pointed out which made the views special. I literally have no negative comments or suggestions. Our tour was great. We chose the cliff hanger trail and it did not disappoint. Definitely more on the intense side so if you're new to being off-road maybe choose something a little more mild. Our tour guide, "Archie" was fun and very informative. The views and overall experience are absolutely spectacular. If you want to explore Sedona but aren't sure where to go on your own then join "A Day in The West" for a tour and let them do it for you! read more
My husband and I loved our tour with a Day In The West. They have tours for that fulfill all of your sightseeing and photography interests. My husband and I choose the Diamondback Gulch Tour. It costs $85 a person and is about 2 1/2 hours long. It's advertised as "extreme." We were the only ones on this tour so we had plenty of opportunity to interact with our guide. Our tour guide was very friendly and did an amazing job entertaining us for throughout the entire tour. Most importantly he kept us safe over extremely rough areas. This tour takes you through rugged trails were we learned all about the area, plants and wild life. We passed by several rock formations that included Doe Mesa, Chimney Rock, Capital Butte and Lizard Head. Even though we had seat belts our bodies spent a good part of the trip flying off of the seat. We were tossed back and forth and side to side to the point of laughter over the silliness of it. It was a lot of fun and well worth the money. read more
Affordable, fun must-do for tourists! Get the Groupon. It's extreme off-roading but a great adventure... I'd rather do this than hike! Our guide was funny and informative...not too much. It was about an hour. It comes with the trolley which allows you great photo ops! read more
Had soooo much fun on our sunset Lil Rattler tour with Wyatt! Both my friend and I didn't know what really to expect since we had never been to Sedona before. Friends had told us it would be a lot of fun. WHAT. AN. UNDERSTATEMENT. Wyatt (and his exemplary guide skills) was fabulous from the beginning until the very end. Our tour started fairly quickly upon us getting buckled in due to some time delays (related to holiday weekend traffic). He was quite knowledgeable on every rock formation we passed as well as local fauna/wildlife (and my questions comparing those of Sedona to those in the Valley). All 6 of us were fairly ready for the sight bumpiness and we asked him to increase it, which he gladly obliged (YUUUUP!). Nothing is more thrilling than getting airtime and being only restrained by a tight seatbelt across the gut! He took us a little further into the trail so we would have perfect timing for sunset views. Before that we stopped off the trail and he took pics of my friend and I together as well as the family of 4 with us... did I mention Wyatt is a fab photographer?! He timed it perfectly so that at sunset, we sat at the tallest point on the trail, with the engine turned off, sitting in tranquility with just the wind + faraway voices the only sounds we could hear while the sun said goodbye to Saturday and punched my eyes with the most intense warm-spectrum colors of the Sedona rocks. read more

Wow!! What an amazing experience!! Got to do a Jeep tour with Jeff this evening and it was absolutely perfect!! First we went to a winery and then drove through this trail and went off roading!! Omg it was a blast!! Definitely some two checkers happening!! If you are waiting a mellow cruise around Sedona this is not it!! It is worth every single penny!! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a good laugh, adventure, and some great wine!!! Thank you Jeff for making our experience one for the books!!! read more

I love Sedona and I've always wanted to go on one of the Jeep tours and so glad I got to this past weekend! The Jeep fits 6 people comfortably with 2 people sitting at the back and 2 sitting on each side. Our tour guide was nice and very knowledgeable with the Sedona area. It is a very bumpy ride as you are basically going off roading most of the time, so make sure your seat belt is secured and tight! And if you get car sick, I would not suggest this! I did feel like I was going to get sick a couple of times but I powered through it. It was about a 2 hour ride and he drove us around then on our way back he let us stop at a scenic spot for 5 minutes to take pictures. I do wish that we could of stopped at more scenic spots to take pictures and/or let us have more than 5 minutes at that one spot to capture those moments we paid to go see! read more

He made our ride so much fun and was definitely a Great photographer! The view was just breathtaking.. it's so impressive what nature has to offer! I highly recommend this jeep tour when you're in Sedona and do yourself a favor, ask for Zeke as a guide! You won't regret it! read more

Found this jeep tour through Groupon and did some research on it and liked what I read on yelp/Groupon. Using the Groupon was easy! I first called to make sure that they had openings before I purchased the Groupon which they did. I bought the Groupon and then called a day in the west back to make my reservation. When we got there the only extra fees we had to pay for was tax which turned out to be less than $10 and then tipped our guide at the end. After talking to the guides we opted for the Mogollon Rim because it was the most scenic tour according to them. They said the Diamondback tour was a bit rougher and has crazier turns so we wanted a milder ride. Like I said check in was easy and we showed up 15min early to sign waivers. Even though everything in town seems close don't forget to factor in traffic and time to find parking. There are a few free public parking lots in the back of town so just follow the signs. The timing was perfect as we left exactly at 4pm and returned at 6pm. Our driver was friendly from the start and he knew we wanted to have fun on our ride so he pulled us to the side and suggested we get in the jeep first so we could sit in the back. The back is the roughest and sitting in the front passenger seat is the smoothest. The ride was definitely rough at times which we loved because that's what we paid for! Our driver took the time to pull to the side and point out different landmarks and was very knowledgeable about Sedona and its history. I saw a lot of Pink Tour jeeps go by without stopping. So it was nice to know our driver really cared that we enjoyed our ride and pulled over to let us enjoy the sights. This tour was very scenic and we ended up at Merry go round rock. We parked the jeep at the end of the service road and then hiked for less than 10 min to the top and had amazing panoramic views of Sedona. On the way back our driver would take the bumps faster or accelerate/decelerate quickly to make the ride bumpier so heading back was a lot of fun! I highly recommend this tour company because it's way cheaper than the Pink Tours especially through Groupon and the guides are all excellent and really want you to have fun! I definitely felt like I got my money's worth with the scenery and thrills! read more

VERY long but worth a read: **We could have died If zero was an option, that is what I would have selected. Although my negative experience happened nearly six months ago I have been holding off on writing this review to allow the company an opportunity to correct the problem without putting them on blast. As it has been six months with no response from the company, I think it is pretty safe to say that they are not planning to respond despite being given ample time to do so. I am writing this to hopefully spare someone from the same situation we ended up in. In July 2021, my boyfriend and I took a jeep tour to the Diamondback Gulch in Sedona. Here is the short version of the story: The tour was taken in the rain. While on the tour the mountain began flooding and the tour guide decided not to turn back. Instead, he attempted to drive through rushing flash flood waters. We did not make it through. The jeep was picked up by the water and began being washed down the mountain with us inside. Thankfully we smashed in to a tree and one of the tires became lodged. This is the only thing that prevented us from being swept down the mountain even further. Our driver went in to shock and sat completely silent, without advising us or calling for help. The driver was submerged in the water neck deep and my boyfriend and I were in the freezing water up to our chest for nearly an hour without any possible exit. We were surrounded by rushing water on all sides. I attempted to call 911 but due to mountain reception the call would not connect. Eventually, a kind-soul who lived nearby was able to make it to us with rope. He tied a line to a tree and was able to throw it to us. We used this rope to climb out and make it to land. Our driver was in shock and did not have enough strength to pull himself out of the jeep and through the water. My boyfriend had to essentially push the guide from the jeep to the arms of the rescuer. Roughly 30-40 minutes later, in addition to the hour that we were submerged, the tour company brought another jeep. Did they provide a new driver? No. Our guide, the one that went in to shock and was submerged in freezing water for over an hour, was asked to drive us back to the company. This was very poor judgement. Not only was the driver in no condition to be driving after a near-death experience, we did not feel confident with his decision making nor comfortable with having our lives in his hands once again. The most offensive part is that the other tour guides were making jokes when they arrived to "help". It was very inappropriate timing considering we literally could have died. Once we returned to the "base", my boyfriend and I were guaranteed that we would be issued a full refund and that they were sorry for what happened. Guess what?? We were never refunded. To this day: I was charged full price for a tour that almost killed us. Important note: Not once did my boyfriend nor myself complain. It would not benefit anyone to raise a scene. We were just happy to be alive and wanted it all to be over. We even tipped the driver and said "Thank you for bringing us back". I am not listing the name of the tour guide because ultimately it is the tour company that allowed him to provide the tour to us and should be held responsible for training their guides for emergency situations. (Clearly this is not the case). We understand that accidents happen; however, it is so wrong that we were nearly killed and were not even issued a refund. I have left messages and emails for managers and have never received a response. Namely: Mr. K Gerber. Here is the cherry on top: My boyfriend began having a sharp chest pain the night of the tour. We chalked it up to being submerged in freezing water. We cancelled the rest of our plans in Sedona because we both became ill. The pain in my boyfriend's chest did not subside. He went to the doctor a week later to discover that at some point he had a heart attack. At this time, he was rushed in to emergency open-heart surgery. I will now think twice before putting my life and well-being in the hands of a tour company. Ride at your own risk has a whole new meaning!!!
