The staff are ok but the restaurant needs to be reopened. When local resident and entrepreneur, Mr. Jim Sheehan developed the business 20 years ago, he built the campground and also rented out lake side cabins. Better than RV camping!! Alas, Hurricanes Francis and Charlie chewed up the entire area, including all his beautiful wood cabins and even damaged the huge Herbert Hoover dike ( in 1930's) which surrounds the entirety of Lake Okechobee. There are a couple of the cabins still available for rent, through Airbnb.

I wanted to see lake Okeechobee from the ground for the first time. I'm glad that I did. It's very peaceful and there are some birds and fish to watch. I think I'll look for some camp sites nearby to do some weekend camping at. I have three dogs so they'll have to be pet friendly. He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the harbor. He even took a couple of photos for my husband and me, which we really appreciated. Overall, while the check-in experience could definitely be more welcoming and attentive, the cruise itself was enjoyable thanks to the scenery and the great service from Jeff at the bar.

This is an updated review: Alex Kosinksi is unprofessional and untrustworthy. We used him more than…read more3 times, and always late (or no show). He did DAMAGE to the surface/flooring of our yacht. He made us pay up front for services (a red flag there) and parts, giving us a huge sob-story about getting into an accident, behind on bills etc. Then he kept the money from parts he billed us but didn't use. He sent us repeated texts saying he will refund us, but of course never did. We finally filed a complaint with the BBB and texted it to him, which eventually got him to refund us (see attached screenshots...note the dates). I added an extra star for him at the very least doing ONE thing he said he would (despite the effort involved). My strong recommendation is to go with someone else.
