I got the big island mac nut coffee with ube which was perfect and not too sweet, had great texture as well. My daughter got the POG that tasted mostly like orange but was still delicious and refreshing. My other daughter got the Mango and coconut lime ginger. We stopped at Paia Gelato on our way back from Hana and it was pretty good! I didn't realize at first that both gelato flavors I chose were non-dairy - Dark Chocolate and Lilikoi. In fact, half the flavor selection was dairy-free. The interior had minimal decor and powerful air conditioning, and the staff members were friendly and great about giving samples. Of my two flavors, the Dark Chocolate was my favorite, and they went great together. The only downside was that they seemed softer than normal gelato (more melty?), but that might've been due to the non-dairy aspect. Overall, worth the stop! read more

The store is cute and have little board/signs that give you tips on road to Hana and recommendations on what to bring! Absolutely delightful! I stopped by before we headed out to Hana. The ladies behind the counter were so sweet and gave road to Hana advice to every patron. They have everything you need from sun block, bug spray, nausea medication or alternatives. The best part is that they have dairy free gelato options! She recommended the passion fruit, dark chocolate raspberry, one that is the same flavor as one of their shakes (coconut & strawberry) and a combination passion fruit, mango and pineapple (which I really enjoyed). You cannot go wrong with any of these except not getting the large size for 3 flavors! I regretted only getting two flavors. They also have local jams, jellies, and coffee. This is a wonderful pit stop that I highly recommended. They open at 7am so it's not as difficult to find street parking. read more

Very yummy gelato and friendly service! I give it 4 stars because they are stingy portion wise. All of the other gelato/ice cream places in town give you a heaping portion of whatever you order. So it's almost like you get a scoop of ice cream on top of your cup. Here they only give you enough to fill the cup which is weird I've never seen a ice cream place do that before. read more

Delicious fresh house-made gelato served here, we were invited by owner Tiffany as she was handing out promo flyers near our condo in Kihei. We came to the little hippie-esque town of Paia to shop and realized we're were near. I sampled some tastes of dairy and nondairy gelato, all delicious, but I was over the surf with the coconut gelato! Superb! We also pick up some fresh deli sandwiches to take with us up to the Hookipa Lookout (best windsurfing beach in US) to have a Maui style picnic. I like coming to this place to get gelato. But I feel that if you are not a tourist or if you are not visiting once a week or more, I don't get it knowledge I don't feel welcome. Gelato always tastes good, and I like it because there are exotic local fruitation flavors to choose from, like passion orange guava and lilikoi. This place is very clean and they have a waste basket so you don't have to throw your opala outside. So I'm giving this place a four star because I really like it. I really love the flavors. As there was a wait for dinner, we decided to walk the main street of Paia. Since we were hungry and had hiked 8 miles prior, we ordered some gelato from here. You can get a max of 2 flavors for a small cup. The lady working the counter was really nice. Letting us have samples of their different gelato flavors. She was very helpful, giving us suggestions and answering questions. I ended up going with a mix of honey lavender and lilikoi, which is a passion fruit grown in Hawaii. The honey lavender was really good!! It was sweet, but the sweetness was tempered by the lavender, which added a slight bitterness (in a good way). The lilikoi was way too tart. In hindsight, I should've gone with a sweeter choice, but at least I could say now that I've tried lilikoi. I would've given them 4 stars because I wasn't a fan of the lilikoi, but overall, the customer service of the lady working the counter made it a 5 star experience. They also serve coffee and other variations of gelato in other sizes as well, from cakes to pints. I would recommend this place, especially when it's warm outside. After tasting two flavors I decided on Watermelon. Fantastic! I don't even remember what flavor my son chose cause I just was in a zone enjoying this treat.
