I wish I had found this spot sooner! We passed by it several times during our trip and had no idea what we were missing. I love Dole Whip, but this place serves their own version called Pineapple Cream, and in my opinion, it's a million times better. They even have a poster in the shop comparing the ingredients, and let's just say they're not shy about pointing out what's in Dole Whip versus their own product. Their Pineapple Cream is made with simple ingredients, and you can absolutely taste the difference. They offer a variety of island inspired flavors, which made it tough to choose because everything sounded delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't discover this place until our last night in Maui. Otherwise, I have no doubt we would have come back multiple times during our trip. If you're a fan of pineapple ice cream, this is a must-visit. Seating was limited outdoors and inside was full. I really enjoyed the fact that they offer split scoops for any size of ice cream, so I had a single split scoop of lillikoi cheesecake and macadamia nut ice cream. The lillikoi cheesecake ice cream had such good cheesecake flavor, rich and a little tangy. I wish there was just a touch more of the lillikoi jam ribboned throughout the scoop, but it was still good. I liked the chunks of macadamia nut that were int he mac nut ice cream; it was a little sweeter than the lillikoi cheesecake, but the two of them were balanced nicely! I ordered it with mochi, and it also came with a chocolate wafer roll. The staff was super helpful and kind! I felt bad for them because one of our orders broke the shaved ice machine, but handled it as best as they could. I had really high hopes for Island Cream Co, but was sadly disappointed. We swung by a couple hours ago and there was only one person in front of us. We stood there for 10 minutes and no one greeted us or acknowledged us. When it was finally our turn, more customers showed up and all of a sudden two additional workers came from the back to help out... We felt like we weren't cared for and that was a huge turn off for us. We ordered two small glacier ice station shaved ice. The flavors I chose were guava, passion fruit and lychee. I thought the flavors were really good, but I unfortunately didn't add enough syrup so it was on the weaker side which made it harder to eat. That's my fault though! The shop itself is clean and has AC. Our main problem was the lack of customer service we received. It's sad to see so many 5 star reviews, but I'm not able to write on for them today... read more

Easy walk up on a Saturday late morning but as we sat , the line coming in was steady and the one person working was great! Very patient and calm demeanor. I loved all the ice cream offerings and sampled a few for kicks. Ended up with a small shave ice with a scoop of pineapple cream. It's very exciting to be able to select and serve myself any flavor that spoke to me. And afterwards, you can have snow cap and li hing mui added by the employee which is what I did. While the ice isn't as flakey as a couple other places I have tried, it's tasty nonetheless. Definitely coming back, maybe for ice cream only but who knows! Stopped for ice cream after a meal at Kīhei Kaffe. A bit of a line but it moved quickly. The people taking orders were so happy and didn't balk at all with samples. I went for the ice cream, selecting two different styles of caramel, one salty and one with pecans. To be more precise after reading their website, they have 36 island cream flavors to choose from. Island cream is a little different than ice cream, a difference I honestly didn't notice because I didn't know to consider. For me it was "Ice Cream, GOOD". They offer a whole display of familiar and unfamiliar flavors. While I didn't notice much caramel flavor that's common for me, I almost need veins of caramel or caramel candy for it to really stand out, I did very much like the overall act of eating my island cream. We came several times on our visit, and the same awesome girl made a perfect icy mountain ready for me to put three flavors on there (self-serve...genius!). I arrived at least 20 minutes before closing specifically for shaved ice and waited in line for around 15 minutes. No problem at all, but after finally reaching the counter, I was told they were out of shaved ice for the night. There was no sign on the door or any notice letting customers know this beforehand. What made this especially frustrating is that I visited the night before and had a great experience. I enjoyed it so much that I came back again the very next day, specifically for the shaved ice. Had I known it was unavailable, I wouldn't have spent that much time waiting in line and could have easily gone somewhere else before other places closed. I completely understand that businesses can run out of products, and I appreciate that those things happen. However, the employees seemed very focused on closing up for the night, which left me wondering whether the shaved ice was truly unavailable or whether equipment and supplies had already been shut down before the posted closing time. Either way, some communication at the door or to customers waiting in line would have been greatly appreciated and would have saved everyone time and frustration. read more

We tried chocolate cookies & cream and lilikoi cheesecake on a chocolate waffle cone with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles (yes... go big or go home). The ice cream was super creamy and the flavors were on point -- the lilikoi cheesecake had that perfect sweet-tangy balance. We also grabbed a two-scoop chocolate with M&Ms on a waffle cone, and of course my son built his own masterpiece with two scoops loaded with gummy bears, M&Ms, and whipped cream. Kid definitely understood the assignment. Great portions, fun toppings, and the waffle cones make it even better. Perfect stop after dinner or just when the Maui heat says you deserve ice cream. How can you charge $14.99 plus tax for shave ice?
