I have been going here since 2000. I am amazed to see so many one star reviews but realize that people are going in with problems that are painful and not always 100% repairable. I have never experienced the staff issues with either Dr. Cannon or Dr. Shah's staffs. Dr. Cannon did my right shoulder in May of 2001 and I was back to original strength and flexibility as before my damage. In 2008, I had my left bicep detached at the forearm due to me thinking that I was much younger than my years playing volleyball. Dr. Shah re-attached it and the recovery was smooth and complete. In 2010, I tore my left medial meniscus in my knee while bowling. I went back to Dr. Shah and again the results were excellent. He advised me that I have a fair amount of arthritis in that knee so to be aware that there could be ongoing issues. We introduced a treatment of SyncVisc not long after surgery and I have not had any issues since. In 2012, I re-injured my right shoulder (old on the outside, young in the mind). This time to Dr. Shah. The recovery was long being in an abduction pillow, however, with excellent phyical therapy downstairs, I was back to 100% being able to do anything that I used to in time. I re-injured that right shoulder again 18 months ago while working overseas (fall in my apartment) and now finally getting the time to get at it. Today, from the time that I checked in until I saw the doctor was 8 minutes! When does that ever happen? I will get an MRI to check current level of damage but would not think of going anywhere else for my surgery.

And now I'm in more pain. My clavicle is sticking out of my shoulder making me look deformed. The Doctor refuses to make it right without me paying all of my deductibles and out of pocket expenses all over again. Thousands of dollars!

An Austin friend told me about trigger muscle release therapy... and I found Jarrett Smilie at Body MechaniX. He KNOWS what he's doing. When I stood up at the end, my hips were aligned. AND NO PAIN. For a few seconds I walked like I was on a slanted floor because my gait wasn't used to walking in balance. I was pain-free. It's going to be a process, but I feel like I'm finally on the road to resolution. Anybody in back pain. Try Jarrett. He's in Conroe, but closer to the Woodlands East side. Ask about Trigger Muscle Release Therapy. This is not painless, not for the faint of heart, but so amazingly rewarding. I had little to lose and everything to gain.

It was BY FAR the best therapeutic body work I've ever had from NY to LA. He seamlessly adjusted the therapy based on my specific needs and condition. And for the first time I feel like I'm set up to keep improving. My pain is relieved and I'm much more flexible. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can fly back into Houston for appointments in the future. Go!

I had never done the BodPod before but that was part of the body composition testing and it was pleasantly easy. I did wear a bathing suit, which wasn't exciting, but the actual testing only took a couple minutes, and the results came right out. We also discussed my nutrition intake and where my diet was and should be in order to compete. Because the location only opened this year, I don't think a lot of people know that this location has strength and conditioning and sports nutrition, on top of physical therapy and orthopedics. I had a friend that was referred here to get physical therapy to recover from an injury, and she really likes working with the physical therapists. They are the ones affiliated with the Ironman Texas in Galveston, and the ultra-distance Ironman event in the Woodlands so you see the Ironman signs all around the triathlon and marathon events, and they do packages for athletes, as well as runners, cyclist, and triathletes. They were really easy to work with and had availability that worked well for me.
