I had an appointment at the medical building 2. Parking was easy, plenty of spots. The hospital and medical centers sit exactly where I worked for Sysco. So nostalgic from 7 years ago. They tore down the old building and raised the lot due to floods but the original parking lots remain. Anyway, the building inside is beautiful, clean and very high tech. Check in was easy at the kiosk. They have plenty of seating on the 5th floor and even a coffee bar. They send you a text to meet your medical assistant at the door. They still come out and call your name. The rooms were nice and fancy with computerized signs outside the door. Very nice complex. read more

The facility I visited today was in building two. I am visiting the Texas Medical Center at Methodist. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. The facility provides a large variety of exams based on your needs and doctor referrals. The overall experience is very clean and well maintained. I find that some of the technology that is being used at this new location is far more advanced that other locations I have visited in the past. The doctors here really seen to care and ask validation questions in effort to get your full store for the reason of the visit and make an action plan for treatment and next steps. read more

Horrible experience in the ER at night. I waited over 4 hrs and still no one is able to help anyone. There is only one nurse on call in the ER and no one else. I had to come in for something that I was told by the Houston Methodist on call physician over the phone couldn't wait until morning. On the phone they indicated that I had to go to the ER right away so I did. I spent all the ER fees to do so but then ended up waiting until morning anyways. I would have received the same level of care if I had just stayed home. I normally love Houston Methodist but this new hospital should been ashamed of themselves. They are clearly understaffed and it is completely not acceptable to run an ER in this manner. read more

I recently had two ER visits and an admission at Methodist Cypress for severe illness. I want to recognize the outstanding care I received from Dr. McChesney, along with nurses Melissa and Tyler in the ER. They were compassionate and treated us with kindness and respect during a difficult time. Because of them I know the hospital is capable of providing much better care. It all began with severe diarrhea, high fever, dehydration, and vomiting. During my 1st ER visit, I had an extensive evaluation, IV fluids and meds and was discharged with antibiotics but it worsened over the next week. My fever returned, diarrhea worsened, and required a 2nd trip to the ER and was admitted to the hospital. My inpatient experience raised significant concerns. First is the hospital's lack of beds. After admission, I remained in a small ER room for 33 hours because no bed was available. I asked for updates re when I might be transferred but was told there was little chance that a room would become available soon. After spending 1 1/2 days admitted to the hospital while still located in the ER, I requested discharge because I could not spend another night there. I understand that hospitals sometimes have capacity issues, it appears the hospital opened before having sufficient inpatient bed capacity. Second is the communication from my attending Dr. On my 2nd day, she told me that I would be discharged because I simply had "a little bug." This was confusing because I had already experienced more than a week of severe illness, including two ER visits, recurrent fevers over 102, and failure of antibiotics. When I asked how they could confidently discharge me when the cause of my illness had not yet been ID'd, I was told that I would need to follow up later. The convo became even more concerning when the Dr began discussing IBS as an explanation for my symptoms. I explained that I had never been diagnosed with IBS and that my illness consisted of an acute, prolonged illness rather than intermittent bowel problems. Nevertheless, I was told that this was "probably the start" of IBS and that they "don't keep people in the hospital for IBS." When I pointed out that I had already been evaluated in the same ER a week prior because of high fever and severe symptoms, and that the antibiotics had failed to resolve my condition, the Dr appeared unaware of my prior ER visit and treatment. She also appeared unfamiliar with the plan of care that had been explained to me by the admitting Dr, who had indicated that the goal was to continue treatment until my diarrhea had improved and we had a diagnosis. Most concerning was that I was never informed by my attending Dr when testing ultimately ID'd the cause of my illness. After spending many additional hours waiting in the ER, I asked my nurse why I was being kept in the hospital. He seemed surprised that I hadn't been informed that my testing had ID'd Campylobacter coli and the Dr wanted to continue observing me for 24 hrs. Learning my diagnosis from a nurse only after asking why I was still hospitalized was a significant communication failure. My third concern involves the conditions of my isolation care. Because of concerns that I might have a highly contagious infection, I was placed in isolation and instructed not to use the ER restroom. Instead, I was required to use a bedside commode put next to the head of my bed. My first nurse promptly emptied and disinfected the commode after each use. However, subsequent nursing staff frequently left the commode containing diarrheal stool in my room for hours despite repeated requests that it be emptied. On several occasions I had to continue using the same dirty commode 4-5 additional times before anyone emptied it. The odor became overwhelming, and I was forced to remain in a very small room next to human waste for hours. I understand the need for isolation precautions and the importance of protecting other patients. However, I do not believe it is acceptable for a patient to repeatedly use a soiled bedside commode and remain beside it for hours after requesting assistance. This affected not only my comfort but also my dignity as a patient. I recognize that ERs are busy and that workers are under pressure. I am sharing these concerns not to criticize the dedicated employees who cared for me, but to encourage improvement. I received excellent care from several ER staff and am grateful for them. However, my experience highlighted important opportunities for improvement in inpatient capacity, physician communication, coordination of care, and basic patient dignity during prolonged ER boarding. Patients deserve timely communication, Drs who are familiar with their recent medical history before making clinical decisions, and basic sanitary care that preserves dignity. If you have a choice of hospitals I might suggest you consider taking advantage of another while Methodist hopefully adds beds and staff real soon. read more

Only received the star cause i couldnt leave it blank. The experience was horrible! Staff was not friendly. Rude all the way around. Never been to a hospital and received this kind of treatment EVER! Asked for water never received it. I totally understand that serious situation requires attention first. But to be pushed out and left in a barely lit hallway with no traffic for hours is unacceptable. It wasnt packed! I asked for water never received it. Was provided discharge papers with no after care instructions, recommendation nor follow up. Will never recommend this place. Will literally bypass this place to receive better treatment. read more

Had a mammogram today at the new Houston Methodist Cypress Breast Care Center and cannot recommend this place more highly. The offices are clean and welcoming and the staff are so friendly. The changing area is great with plenty of space, secure lockers, and warmed, comfy robes. Mammograms aren't exactly an exciting experience but these ladies definitely made it comfortable and we are so fortunate to have a place like this close to home. If you are due for a mammogram anytime soon, be sure to get an appointment here. read more

First, I'm writing this review for my husband who recently had surgery on his right hand. He says, I have lived with Rheumatoid arthritis for over twenty years. One of my favorite past times was playing golf. I was part of a a senior's league. We played over 60 rounds of golf in one year at multiple golf course around the Houston area. Needless to say, I injured my right hand. My injury was caused by multiple wear and tear in my years of being a mechanic and my love of golf. It turns out that the RA had eaten away at the bone in my hand and the sharp bone severed three tendons. I had horrible pain, swelling and inflammation for over a year. I had to go through multiple approvals to get surgery. My Cardiologist, Dr. Alameddine, recommended Dr. Alex Han at Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at the new Methodist Cypress off 290. I can't say enough good things about Dr Han and his entire team. They were great. Dr. Han was so knowledgeable and explained my options in great detail. He made it easy for me to make a decision to get surgery. The surgery was over 3 1/2 hours. And he even called me the day after to check up on me at home to see how I was doing. I won't say that the surgery was easy, but all the folks in the Methodist Surgical area were so kind and understanding and did their best to make sure my needs were taken care of. I would highly recommend Dr. Alex Han, ( Hand, Wrist & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon) to anyone who has hand problems. He is an outstanding doctor who is smart professional, kind and caring of his patients. read more

I went to the Methodist Cypress ER two weeks ago due to severe dizziness and imbalance. I have been to many ERs due to long-term, chronic illnesses, and this facility was fantastic. The doctors and nurses were excellent and the equipment was state-of-the-art. The doctors ordered numerous tests to rule out all possible causes of my symptoms and quickly ruled out the worst-case scenarios (heart attack, stroke). I highly recommend this ER if you need emergency care. read more

Don't go to the emergency room Here they have no echo at night and do. Care if you can't even breathe I was there last week due to severe shortness of breath and all alone they left me sitting there all alone crying and scared and after I told them to why no body is taking me they took me in and didn't even do anything to help me breath ! They just tortured me to get blood out of me to do some blood work, which was so unnecessary at the moment and the only thing was fine. Was just the x-ray which came normal but what my problem was ?a panic attack and that was my first panic attack ever so I didn't have experience which they did not find that out and they sent me bills for $2000 for something that did not help me on that night.thank god I walked out before they could charge me more , I try to call them and explain why they charged me for blood work which I told them to cancel it no body seems to care and they all say I don't know it was the doctor order you have to pay ! I am left traumatized from that night that I did not receive help that no one helped me to breathe I would never go to Methodist hospitals again . read more
