I cross-posted this review on his facebook page…read more I do think Mike is a good guy, but i'm very disappointed in the job i hired him for and would not recommend him. The paint job his guy did was very poor quality as confirmed by several individuals-- 1. my wallpaper installer in the same room, 2. my neighborhood sherwin williams, 3. another professional in the business. I called Mike to express disatisfaction and he blamed me for 'choosing' the Sherwin Williams paint (color/sheen) that i did but at no point did he advise me otherwise that it would be a problem (funnily enough, Sherwin Williams pointed out to me that the sheen on the can he used/left at my house was even different than i requested). To be fair, Mike did return once to 'fix' the job his guy did and he shared that the man who painted our room only worked that one day and how hard it's been for him to find help which i sympthatize with greatly. At the end of the day, I still paid for a very sub-par paint job, that i end up re-doing, and want my money back. My main complaint was that the paint was scratching off/peeling off the baseboards with very little effort (although the whole room was pretty streaky). My husband I redid the whole room ourselves over the course of 3 days with the help of a friend and now was so much MORE work because now we had to sand the baseboards from the flaky/peeling paint he used. i'm including photos to show the peeling off. A day before we were re-doing the room, i texted Mike again to let him know that we were re-doing the paint job because his company's work was NOT good and i didn't get any response back. Tim of Ibis came right out to my home to give me an estimate. Then he actually followed up with a professional emailed estimate. The estimate described all areas to be painted & a detail of what is to be expected. His team arrived on the day I was told. The Forman Caesar was very easy to communicate with. They covered everything in my home. This was especially important to me because part of the job was painting my ceilings. They pulled all nails and patched the holes where I had pictures and mirrors. I was told the job would probably take 3 days. (was getting my whole house painted. ) They ended up finishing in 2 days. The work was very professional. Any spots that I felt needed attention Caesar remedied right away before leaving the job. I got several estimates and although I did receive some that were lower I made my choice based on the professionalism of the estimate and the fact that Ibis was highly recommended. After a thorough consultation, I hired them to coat my garage floor and stairs--an investment of over $6,000. I scheduled the installation the day after I received the keys on my new custom home, expecting a smooth, two-day process. What I got instead was a stressful, damaging experience. On the first day, I received a photo from my neighborhood's Architectural Review Board asking if I had painted my garage doors. What they saw wasn't paint--it was a thick layer of dust that had spread inside and outside my home. My dark brown/black garage doors were light cream. My builder confirmed the dust was also throughout the inside and outside. When I contacted Garage Experts, I was told everything would be cleaned the following day. On day two, while pressure washing, the team chipped the paint on the garage doors. My builder agreed to repaint the chip. However, Garage Experts left assuming my builder would also handle all cleaning, which he never agreed to. The dust left at the top of the garage doors damaged the paint. When I returned, I found dust everywhere--on light fixtures, fans, counters, baseboards, garage doors, and even inside my brand-new water heater. There were black smudges and floor coating on walls and trim. The home had never been lived in and had just been professionally cleaned. The damage and mess were overwhelming. I contacted Garage Experts and spoke with the owner. He admitted the equipment used was faulty which caused the problem but couldn't explain why the job wasn't stopped. He offered to send cleaners, but by then my furniture and boxes had arrived, and I couldn't allow them access. Thankfully, my incredible builder stepped in, repainted the garage doors, walls, and trim, and helped me recover some of the home's appearance. My husband and I cleaned the rest--an exhausting process that took multiple days and hours. Despite everything, the owner simply called this a "learning experience" and still sent me the full bill. When I questioned if he felt the job was worth over $6,000, he offered a $200 discount and responded, "Sorry you feel that way." I paid the bill, but I was left frustrated and disappointed. Bottom line: I trusted Garage Experts with part of my dream home and was left cleaning up a huge mess--physically and emotionally. If you value quality, professionalism, and accountability, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
