Our guide was great with children. First, she talked about the ranch and the horses and cows. Then she talked about the paniolo, what they wore and how they roped cows. Then we walked around and met all the animals. We started at the fishpond and all the kids got a cup full of fish food. She told us the Hawaiian names of the water fowl and we even watched a heron catch some fish! (Sorry; I forgot the Hawaiian name for heron!) Then we went on the longest and best part of the tour: petting all the animals. I'm not sure I can name them all but the highlights were a wild boar, a little brown cow, a llama, sheep, goats and a pig. In another section, there was an enclosed garden with smaller animals like rabbits and guinea pigs, tortoises and butterflies. They do birthday parties here and I would totally go for it if it weren't so far for my parents and family. But I highly recommend visiting here!

While more or less teaching many of the same tumbling and motor skills, the way they do it is 100x more engaging and fun for the kids. It's faster paced, there's more than enough room to run around, there's cute toddler-specific music playing in the background, the coaches are more hands-on and interactive with the kids, and even some of the older students pitch in and help out. They even manage to work in some basic alphabet and shapes learning during the class. Sure enough, when our daughter goes there she has a huge smile on her face the entire time.

Schools don't always offer continuous art classes. Knowing that my kids LOVE the arts, it was a blessing to find a teacher just starting up drawing classes. Better to know that its on the WEST SIDE! The class he is starting for now is drawing. My daughter has been able to attend the 4 sessions for drawing and she has learned a lot! Each class she has been excited to come and always leave with wanting to draw more. I wish she had the same enthusiasm for violin and homework. 1st session she was able to learn the basics and she actually completed a cartoon drawing on her own. The other sessions she learned exercises that have improved her technique. I love that she enjoys it so much that we will definitely be signing up for more! As of now it is just drawing class, but in the future he plans to teach watercolor and other art styles. As a note, the class is held on the second floor and is a shared office space on other days. The space is easy to find and they glazed and fired my piece for easy pickup in about a month. I love what I made and it was a fun North Shore morning activity.
